Healing Tones

THIS POST WILL BE somewhat technically rich and delightfully enlightening—as well as entertaining! “Old School” musicians may find it particularly challenging . . . even as I will find the topic a challenge to encompass and present to a broad readership. I do, however, accept the challenge and let the Spirit of Truth, focused and active in my pituitary gland, direct my thoughts and my hands on the keyboard.

DISCLOSURE OF HIDDEN TRUTHS

I am encouraged to pursue this topic, inspired by a comment one of my blog followers sent me, and with which I heartedly agree. Paul Miles wrote: “It appears that this is indeed a time for the revelation of many truths that are no longer able to remain in darkness. . . . The persecution that has kept many truths veiled has lost the numbers game. The rising frequency of our and Gaia’s collective consciousness continues unabated. We are putting the puzzle pieces together one after another and it just keeps getting more amazingly beautiful”. Yes it is, Paul, as well as exciting.

Religions, especially the Church of Rome, have thought it necessary to “hide” certain truths from the faithful. Among these hidden truths are the Ancient Solfeggio Frequencies. I will speak to these so-called “hidden” frequencies shortly, referencing my own research, which I published back in 2015 in ATTUNEMENT WITH SACRED SOUND — along with a special guest author and sacred sound healer, Dr. David Hulse. But first a few word about my guest, followed by an interesting commentary on the historical and cosmic context of our topic, and on our modern music .

INTRODUCTION TO MY GUEST AND HISTORICAL COSMIC CONTEXT

David Hulse, DD — in his leading-edge exploration of the science of sound healing, as presented in his Level I Home Study Course: Exploring Science, Sound and Spirituality! — teaches his Soma Energetics ENERGY VITALITY TECHNIQUE, which is based on the six ancient Solfeggio frequencies. Addressing the history of music in general, and touting the benefits of the Solfeggio musical tones, Dr. Hulse draws a relationship to the galaxies in our cosmos.

Back in the 1920’s, the inventor of the Hubble Telescope, Edwin Hubble, came up with a “classification scheme” for galaxies based simply on their appearance. Accordingly, he noticed that galaxies have three different shapes: elliptical, spiral and irregular. Further, he noted that galaxies reveal a “so-called” tuning fork design. With a sense of wonderment and delight, Dr. Hulse proclaims that, here on Earth, we are constantly under the influence of “tuning fork vibrations.”

“For the past several hundred years, all music has been and is still composed to utilize the 12-tone equal temperament method. Some have taken to the notion that music has been placed in a box of limitations; that vibrational frequencies of modern music can create: 1) Boxed-in thinking, 2) Stuffed and suppressed emotions, 3) Fear-based ‘lack consciousness’ that manifests into dis-ease.

[Personally, I do not embrace this negating notion, having experienced the classical and sacred choral music of the masters.]

ANCIENT SOLFEGGIO FREQUENCIES

These six ancient Solfeggio frequencies were given scale designations of “UT, RE, ME, FA, SOL, LA.” They were also given certain powers to open energy portals in consciousness and effect healing of body, mind and spirit. I use tuning forks that were made specifically to sound these six frequencies in my attunement service to open the spinning vortices of chakras energy with demonstrable results that can be measured with a pendulum. I learned the system through the SomaEnergetics study course in the Energy Vitality Technique developed by David Hulse, D.D., adapting its use to my own methodology. The scale of the Solfeggio frequencies, along with their usages and assigned powers, are as follows:

UT – 396 Hz – to liberate one from guilt and fear. RE – 417 Hz – to expand consciousness and facilitate change. MI – 528 Hz – to repair the DNA and initiate transformation and miracles. FA – 639 Hz – to facilitate connection with others and build relationships. SOL – 741 Hz – to awaken intuition; also release toxins and solve problems. LA – 852 Hz – to aid in returning to spiritual order.

The Solfeggio frequencies have a most interesting and controversial history. Said to be “lost” by the Catholic Church, ancient Gregorian chants composed with these frequencies were sung during religious Masses to impart tremendous spiritual blessing and divine grace when sung in harmony. The frequencies were re-discovered by Dr. Joseph Puleo “hidden” in the Old Testament Book of Numbers (Ch 7: 12-89). Truth cannot be “lost,” nor hidden forever.

Dr. Hulse explains: “The Gregorian chant ‘Ut Queant Laxis’ was written in Latin over a thousand years ago. About two hundred years later the music theorist Guido Aretinus (aka Guido Arezzo) took the first stanza and created what is known today as the ‘solfa syllables.’ These modern day syllables are ‘do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, ti, do.’ The original syllables were ‘ut, re, mi, fa, sol, la.’”

Dr. Hulse offers this “enlarged translation” of the Gregorian Latin chant:

“The Divine Mind needs an unconfined and freely moving relationship with us that will resonate our speech, or the very fiber of our being, to produce a miracle of communication, which will solve, dissolve, and release the restrictions of our speech.

As I have noted playing them, when these six tones are sounded using the Solfeggio tuning forks, they produce an ‘open’ spectrum of sound that gives one a sense of an inaudible ongoing series of harmonic frequencies, unlike the modern eight notes that start and end with the same note an octave apart. Compared to the Solfeggio scale our modern day scale could be considered ‘closed,’ having a beginning and an end within the octave. Of course, we can extend the sequence of octaves to infinity, theoretically speaking.

In the Energy Vitality Technique developed by Dr. Hulse, the seventh “sound” at the Crown chakra is that of silence. Master Sound Healer and Teacher Jonathan Goldman has added two notes to the Solfeggio scale so as to close it and make it feel more complete.
