Kenosis: Self-Emptying Love 2, “The Gift of the Magi”

“Jesus said: Whoever has found the world and become rich should renounce the world . . . . The world is not worthy of one who finds himself.” — From The Gospel of Thomas

THE GIFT IS LOVE

Continuing with Cynthia Bourgeault’s insight into Jesus’s chosen kenotic path, I will forgo any introductory comments so as not to clutter the space with thoughts other than those presented in this excerpt from her book THE WISDOM JESUS:

A Pointless Sacrifice?

To flesh out a bit further what this path actually looks like, forgive me if I make a sudden leap into the world of modern literature. Kenosis does not lend itself easily to spiritual theorizing. By far its most powerful and moving enactments have come in the form of story and drama.

One of the most precise descriptions of this path, believe it or not, is the familiar and well-loved story “The Gift of the Magi” by the American author O. Henry. You probably remember the tale. Della and James are newlyweds; they’re madly in love with each other. They are also poor as church mice, and their first Christmas together finds them without sufficient funds to buy each other gifts. But each of these lovers does have one prize possession. James owns a gold watch given to him by his grandfather; Della has stunning auburn hair falling all the way to her waist. Unbeknownst to Della, James pawns his gold watch in order to buy her beautiful silver combs for her hair. Unbeknownst to James, Della cuts and sells her hair in order to buy him a gold watch chain. On Christmas eve the two of them stare bewilderedly at their completely useless gifts.  It has been a pointless sacrifice—pointless, that is, unless love itself is “the gift of the magi.”

And of course, this is exactly what O. Henry is getting at. In the voluntary relinquishing of their most cherished possessions, they make manifest what love really looks like; they give tangible shape to the bond that holds them together. That’s what kenosis is all about.

Another profoundly kenotic parable of our times is the tale that forms the 1987 movie Babette’s Feast, adapted from a short story by Isak Dinesen.  As the drama unfolds we discover that its heroine, Babette, had until recently been one of the most celebrated chefs in Paris, but during the political riots of 1871 she loses everything—restaurant, livelihood, and family. She flees for her life to rural Denmark and is taken in by two aging sisters who have given their lives to religious work, trying to hold together the spiritual community that their father founded. When Babette arrives, the remaining believers have grown old and weary, lost in petty bickering. Babette tries as best she can to lift their spirits, but nothing seems to be turning the situation around. Out of the blue a letter arrives informing her that she has won three million francs in a lottery back in Paris, and then and there she decides to treat these Danish peasants to a proper French dinner. She imports all the necessary ingredients: not only exotic gourmet delicacies for the seven-course meal itself (each with its appropriate wines, champagnes, and liqueurs) but the china dinnerware, silver cutlery, damask table cloths, and crystal glassware. The film zeroes in on the banquet table as the astonished Danish peasants are suddenly faced with this extravagant abundance. At first they are frightened and suspicious, but little by little the mood mellows as they slowly relax into gratitude and forgiveness. The last scene of that banquet night has them all stumbling, a bit drunk but very happy, out into the village square, where they form a circle around the fountain (a vivid image in its own right) and begin to sing and dance together. After all these years they have finally touched the wellspring, and their hearts are overflowing. Then someone says to Babette, “Well, I guess you’ll be leaving us soon, won’t you, now that you’re a rich woman?” She says, “Rich? I’m not rich. I spent every penny I had on that banquet, three million francs.”

Again we see the same leitmotif as in the O. Henry story. An extravagant sacrifice is in one sense wasted, because these poor peasants cannot really comprehend the magnitude of the gift, and by morning, when they’ve sobered up, they will probably have lost most of its beneficial effect. But no matter; the banquet table is set before them anyway. In her no-holds-barred generosity Babette offers these broken, dispirited souls a taste of reassurance that their long years of faithfulness have not been in vain. She mirrors to them what God is like, what love is like, what true humanness is like. And she does it precisely by throwing away her entire escape route in a single act of extravagant abundance, extravagant beyond the bounds of earth (and therefore invoking the presence of heaven). That’s the kenotic path.

Theologians have sometimes commented that if the goal of ascent mysticism is to bring about union through convergence at the point of origin, the effect of the kenotic path seems to be. self-disclosure and new manifestation. The act of self-giving brings new realms into being. It shows what God is like in new and different ways. Some of the most intuitive theologians of our times say that this is how the world was created in the first place—because, in the words of Karl Rahner, “God is the prodigal who squanders himself.” The act of self-giving is simultaneously an act of self-communication; it allows something that was coiled and latent to manifest outwardly. “Letting go” (as in non-clinging, or self-emptying) is but a hair’s breadth away from letting be,” and our Judeo-Christian tradition remembers that it is through God’s original “Let there be . . . ” that our visible world tumbled into existence.

I love Cynthia’s authentic thinking and writing outside the box of conventional belief.  She presents a theology that I, as a former Catholic seminary student, can easily accept and understand at a heart level.  In my own published writings and blogging, I have ascribed to “ascent mysticism” as the path of ascension to the “point of origin” we think to be up in some Heaven, a point that Jesus himself taught is within.  When he reportedly ascended into Heaven, did he go up or within?

There is a passage in my SACRED ANATOMY book where I contemplate this paradoxical dynamic.  The word “up” can be both dimensional and non-dimensional, or vibrational, as in moving up to a higher frequency.  The same is true of the word “down.” The biblical account of Jesus’s ascension indicates that he ascended into “the clouds of heaven.”

For example, I mentioned the “clouds of heaven.”  Jesus was seen by his disciples as ascending into the clouds above their heads. These clouds may have been the conditions in their own (transforming) collective consciousness through which the Lord of Love was making his royal exit from the earthly planes back into the higher planes of being from which he had come, and from which we all come—the “kingdom of heaven” which he had told them more than once “is within you.” This could also be the inference made by the two men in white apparel whom they reportedly saw standing with him and whom they heard say to them:  “Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven?  This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.”  This may well be a classic case where the dimensional state simply did not comprehend the non-dimensional.  The darkness did not comprehend the light.  The lower planes simply cannot comprehend the higher.  But the one who stands in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks, the seven planes of being, in the fourth dimension has both physical and spiritual eyes and can see and comprehend the non-dimensional as clearly and easily as the dimensional.

I can appreciate Cynthia’s inference that Jesus descended down all the way—actually “into hell” according to the biblical text—in order to encompass and include all the dimensions of the vast spectrum of Creation in both heaven and earth, in the cycles of restoration, which he was very intentionally in the process of initiating.  In so doing he opened the gates to the Garden of Paradise here on Earth.  As Cynthia states so well in the next excerpt from this chapter, which I will publish in my next post:

It was not love stored up but love utterly poured out that opened the gates to the Kingdom of Heaven.

Until my next post, be love, be loved and be blessed.

As Below So Above—Divine Cosmology

“When quietly fall the shades on parting day
And whispering shadows ush’ring in the night
Creep o’er the hills and vales imbibing light.
When, harsh, the eye of heaven ceases prey
On verdant sights of Nature’s vast array,
And all that’s bright seems lost, to my dismay.
Then lift I, mind and heart, to heav’n’s embrace,
And there behold in awe majestic wealth:
A myriad worlds and worlds of heavenly dust,
In splendor clad with awe-inspiring grace.
Nay, what seemed lost to darkest night’s cruel stealth
Doth shine against that darkness thrice august.”

(The poem is my attempt at sonnet writing in English Lit Class.  I got an A− on it.  I thought it deserved an A+ of course.  But I was pleased anyway to have the teacher’s recognition of my budding poetry writing talent.  I loved English Literature.)

AS BELOW SO ABOVE

The Design of the Inner Realms of Light is exactly and precisely mirrored in the design of the Cosmos, where heavenly bodies orbit around central hubs of focused light, all governed by the Law of Attraction.  Also known as The One Law and The Law of Love, this Law simply stated is: Positive Radiation and Negative Response. Everything in the Cosmic Universe radiates God’s love and responds to God’s radiance.  Love is the sole Focus of Divinity, as well as of the Cosmos.  Love is all there is in the entire Universe.

The extension of the One Law in the unfolding of the Creative Process is stated by Lloyd A. Meeker (Uranda):  “Radiation Response Attraction Union Unified Radiation.”  As can be demonstrated with a set of magnets, a positive attracts a negative and repels another positive. Spiraling galaxies are held together by this One Law.  Suns hold their planetary satellites and planets their moons in orbits around them on the basis of this Law of Attraction.  Creation unfolds on the basis of this Creative Process, manifesting the beauty and precision of a Divine Order and Design.

A DESIGN OF FOCUSED CONTROL & GOVERNANCE

Looking up at the night sky, one can behold that order and design made manifest.  The Design of God, which involves level upon level of focalized spiritual essences and coordinated creative activity.  Every galaxy embodies a Divine Entity in charge of that particular galaxy surrounded by angelic hosts.  Every Sun in each and every galaxy provides a cloak for a LORD God.  Our Sun provides the outer radiant garment for the LORD of Love, also known as the LORD of Lords and KING of Kings, who has visited our planet a number of times.  I am reminded of the opening words from a powerful sacred solo written and sung by two dear friends:

How shall we give Thee glory, who art the Living God? Power? Who art the very flame of Love. Kingdom? When the Universe of stars is but a cloak to Thee. Thou art all things. All things come from Thee, return again unto Thee, and abide always in Thee . . . .

At the supreme apex of Being is the GOD of Gods encircled by heavenly hosts whose “cloak” is the entire vast Cosmos. There is focalized order, in other words, throughout GOD’s Heaven reflected in the Cosmos.  When we pray the “Lord’s Prayer” we invite this heavenly design and order to manifest itself in our world: “Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.”

Would that we inhabitants of the Earth would follow through with that invitation by allowing this prayer to manifest, to allow the order and harmony in the invisible realms of Light, GOD’s Heaven, to create order and harmony in the visible realm here on Earth. I grant you that no earthly soul has the faintest clue as to what that would look like.  All we can know is that the Creating Spirit of God, Love, is an organizing Force that alone knows how to bring order out of chaos.  All we have to do is let the light of Love shine through us into the whirling chaos and watch the impeccable order and beautiful harmony of Heaven appear through us on Earth, manifesting in season a true community, a community of friends of God and of one another.

DESIGN AND CONTROL THROUGHOUT THE COSMOS

In that Design are various combinations and configurations of 3’s, 7’s, 12’s 13’s 17’s, etc., and an infinite number of pairs of opposites.  It is by way of the various designs and configurations of stars in the Cosmos that control and governance is extended so that order and harmony are made possible.  Without design, control cannot be offered, and chaos results. It is due to our resistance to design and control that the world is in a chaotic state today.

We can observe the control of the positive and negative aspects of the One Law, where a positive central Sun attracts a negative and responsive field of planets and satellites, while at the same time repelling another solar system or galaxy with their radiant positive core, thereby keeping them from colliding with one another.  In this dynamic, repulsion is as crucial to order as attraction, otherwise everything would compress into a gigantic chaotic mass.  The Law works to maintain order and harmony, provided it is allowed to work the way it is designed to work.

Physicists have learned they can manipulate this Law, to a point, by splitting the atom to release the awesome power of the Universe, which is the power of Love, by destroying the balance of the atomic fabric of Creation through fission.  But fission is not the result of Love’s power working through natural design and control principles.  The power of Love brings things together on the basis of fusion.  Fission is man’s bright idea realized tragically in the explosion of atomic warheads that kill and destroy.  Even in our use of fission to generate electricity we have harnessed power that destroys if accidentally released from a compromised atomic reactor.  On top of that, we’ve created an insoluble problem of storing used radioactive material in a safe place.

Water is used to cool the radioactive rods and control the release of energy.  Of course, if the water leaks out through a damaged reactor, all hell breaks loose, as was the case with the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster in Japan created by an earthquake and a tsunami.  Then there was the explosion of the nuclear plant at Chernobyl in the Ukraine that sent a plume into the atmosphere with radioactive fallout that was 400 times greater than that released in the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, which was an atrocity in itself, well justified of course.

 A SYMBOL OF TRUTH

Water has been metaphorically used as a symbol of truth, because of how its design and consistency offers a controlling element, as well as a cleansing one.  Water is a excellent solvent as it loosens the bonds that hold certain elements together, like dirt and rust, freeing them from their structured settings.  Water is also used in plants to move building blocks and nutrients up into the fruit.  Water floats giant ships, as well as small fishing boats and canoes.  Water has a memory that records whatever is placed or mixed into it.  Another characteristic of water is its tendency to seek its own level all the way down from the snow-covered mountains to the rivers and creeks in the valley, even down to the swamps and marshlands, winding its way eventually back to its origin in the waters of the oceans and seas. We measure our land elevations on the basis of sea levels.  Water is a great symbol of truth. It is honest.

AS ABOVE SO BELOW

Design is a controlling factor in the formation of community.  For example, in Jesus’s ministry a community of 12 disciples was drawn together.  His presence in their midst at the central hub made 13 altogether.  So the numbers 12 and 13 have particular significance in the Sacred Geometry manifesting everywhere in our galaxy and solar system.

There were originally 12 planets, for example, orbiting around our Sun, which made a configuration of 13 heavenly bodies.  We can account for only 9 planets, which leaves 3 planets unaccounted for.  It is thought that the asteroid belt was once a planet that exploded, although NASA doesn’t validate this theory.  Then there is the Kuiper belt, which is home to three officially recognized dwarf planets: Pluto, Haumea and Makemake.

It is believed that there is a “Ninth Planet” named Nibiru that travels an elongated orbit around our Sun, depicted by the blue orbit in this graphic.  My point is that our solar system is out of wack at the present time and therefore does not offer a balanced and coherent design through which control can be offered to its individual parts and through it to other star systems.  Design is an essential factor in controlling the development and movement of cosmic systems, all of which are contained in a web of magnetic energy force-fields.

Here on Earth, we organize our societies and communities based on a pattern of focalization as well.  It’s the only way things work anywhere in the cosmos, even in and throughout our physical bodies. Having cut ourselves off from the whole where the One Law governs creation throughout the cosmic community, we have made our own laws by which we seek to govern and control people and nations.  Based on segmentation, segregation and border systems, our laws keep things separate rather than joined together as one global community, a oneness from which we cannot actually escape.  The fact is, the human race is one species, one community, separated only by man-made laws, constitutions declaring independence, and imaginary borers.  The fact also is we are very inter-dependent upon one another.  Our independence is an arbitrarily imposed illusion, a figment of human imagination.  We are inseparably one race, one people.

Do we not think that the power and force of the Light of Love can organize a global community that works as orderly as the cosmos it created and maintains without our bright mental ideas?  I have a feeling that we are on the verge of abandoning our mind-made world in lieu of a Spirit-made world.  What do you think, dear reader?  Are you ready to let go of what hasn’t worked, and doesn’t have enough time left to prove it can ever work, and let go to the way Love works in building true community?  Just look up at the night sky to the heavens and see the evidence all around us, around our planet and our solar system, that proclaim the genius and trustworthiness of Love to create a world that works in harmony with the rest of the Universe; that shouts out to us mortals . . .

“Let Love command!   Let wonders form!   Let Heaven’s beauty shine!   Let every living thing Sing praise for Light Divine.”

Those lyrics are from an Emissaries of Divine Light hymnal, originally a global community drawn together on the basis of the truth of love as a light that human beings are designed to radiate into the world.  Its members are dispersed throughout the world now integrated into communities with other light-workers who share the common purpose of creating a New Earth out of the New Heaven that has emerged in human consciousness over the past decades.  There is no greater invitation and call-out to the inhabitants of the Earth than “Let Love Command.”  Let our Global Community be drawn together by Love, and under the dominion of the Lord of Love.  It’s the only Way Life can work to bring about peace and harmony between peoples and nations.  Let Love command our expression in life. I welcome your thoughts and comments on this post.  Until my next post,

Be love.  Be loved.

The Garden of Consciousness — “As Above So Below”

🎶 This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine . . . Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine. 🎶

Fig trees provide an archway in our back yard paradise

Co-creation At Home

The picture of our back yard above stands as a living example of how easily creation can unfold out of our consciousness where there is partnering with Nature.  Our yard didn’t always look so paradisal. It was totally destroyed back in 2005 when Hurricane Rita came through and uprooted our great sycamore tree and other trees in our back yard.  It was a surreal disaster.

At first, restoring our yard seemed an insurmountable task. Being a man and physician, I suggested we have a professional landscaper come in and “fix it.” Bonnie, on the other hand, wanted us to restore it ourselves, which we did—and it was fun doing it as we both loved working with the situation just as it was and expressing our creativity into it, which eventually transformed it into the garden spot it is today.  We did bring one of our sons, Leo, into the setting who contributed his carpentry skills into repairing the damage to our home—along with much-appreciated loving enfoldment and emotional support. Thank you again, Leo.

It took more time than a landscaper would likely have taken, but then we would have missed out on the joy of creating it together as ideas came to us, taking one task at a time. Realizing and implementing those ideas was a large part of the fun and joy. Then, watching Mother Nature take what we had accomplished and put Her finishing touches on it, we saw our yard grow and blossom as only She knows how. And now we have the pleasure of enjoying our little piece of paradise right here at home.

Here’s what our back yard looked like after the storm debris was cleared off.

And here’s our back yard today!

The Garden of Eden and The Garden of Paradise

I’ve been meditating on the biblical Garden of Eden, variously thought to have been located somewhere on earth. However, Eden may be considered more a heavenly garden than an earthly one; an internal garden rather than an external one. Paradise may be thought of as an external garden—an earthly paradise, which still exists in the pristine wilderness of this planet.

I’ve come to see the Garden of Eden as a Garden of Consciousness in which the seeds of Paradise are sown by the Creator.  Out of the Heaven of Divine Consciousness Paradise is born on Earth. We see it all around us in the God-made world of Mother Nature.

On the same basis, out of human consciousness is born the mind-made world of mankind into which we are born and live out our lives.  It’s simply the way creation works: from invisible heaven to visible earth. “As above so below.”

Our sun rises in the East as our planet rotates towards the future. It’s where the Garden of Eden is planted—by the LORD God.  I think this is important for us to understand.  Our today’s come prepared for us by the Lord: “This is the day which the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.”

We know that Man did not plant the Garden of Eden.  The LORD God planted this Garden.  Man was placed in the Garden of Eden to dress and keep it— not to seed it with his own ideas as to how the Earth should be created and utilized. The CREATING IDEA for the Earth is in the MIND of the Creator, planted in the Garden of Eden, in the sacred soil of Divine Consciousness, as seed for the creation of the Earth and for all the plants, creatures and critters that live on the earth. I see the earth as the Garden of Paradise, the physical manifestation of the Garden of Eden.

Original Man was the creation of Elohim, a council of Divine Beings, as we saw in an  earlier post.  Man, created male and female in the image and likeness of God, was endowed by the Creator with the privilege, and the responsibility, of participating with God in creation by dressing and keeping the Garden.

It would serve us well to remember what this privilege actually entails—and what it doesn’t.  To start with, it does not entail the right to plunder Paradise for our own self-serving pleasure and enrichment.  That is what caused the Fall, and what has maintained the separation of human consciousness from Divine Consciousness. What it does entail is aptly contained in words penned by Lloyd A. Meeker (Uranda): “Let love radiate without concern for results.”  In other words, I am responsible for maintaining an atmosphere of love in the Garden of Consciousness.

Spiritual Man was endowed with a consciousness of his own, which went with him when he left Eden and incarnated in physical man on earth—“fell into creation,” as one reader described it in a comment—and to this day he has cultivated it as a garden in which he plants his own seeds—the seeds of competition and discontent, of greed and envy, the seeds of war.  Basically the seeds that will bring forth the kind of world in which he wants to live with all the self-serving comforts and pleasures it can afford.  This world is not in harmony with the Natural world of Paradise, which the Creator maintains with minimal help from mankind.  It seems that man is determined to continue building his world on top of God’s world, slashing and burning it to make room to grow food for his belly, and drilling it to produce fuel for his machines.

The usurper and self-appointed ruler of human consciousness is the self-active human mind, which has assumed its own identity, the “human ego,” which many an ambitious leader has inflated in order to exercise power and control over others and the world, especially the world of Nature, Gaia’s Paradise, the cornucopia of the resources for life on Earth.  Even now he is eyeing the pristine National Parks of America with intent to harvest their hidden treasures of oil and minerals, Gaia’s very blood and bones. He has no respect for the Earth, nor for life.

Do I paint a too painfully accurate picture?  And do you detect a righteous tone in my words?  Perhaps it is because I do have a bit of righteous anger in my heart, tempered only by compassion for the deceived masses of humanity, as I look at what has become of mankind on Earth, and what a miserable and desperate condition we’ve created in human consciousness, out of which only misery and desperation can be born.  I use the word “righteous” in its literal sense of “right-use-ness,” of which there’s been a gross lack.  Little wonder Man ejected himself from the Garden of Eden, out of God’s Heaven, and separated himself from Divine Consciousness by his commandeering of the Creating Process.

And now we want to get back into Eden?  We can’t “get back” into Eden, at least not as we are in our fallen state of consciousness.  We have to welcome the Edenic state into our consciousness, then co-create Paradise out of that heaven.  Anything we might endeavor to do to create a Paradise on Earth is a waste of precious energy and resource without first letting Eden, Heaven, be restored to human consciousness.  The mind’s bright ideas haven’t worked in the past and there is no reason to think they will work now.  They only make living conditions on the planet worse.

Mankind may be like Man, but mankind is not Man.  Original Man is a spiritual being made in the image and likeness of God, who is Spirit, presently and temporarily incarnate in human form.  What we call “mankind” is a substitute for Man, a temporary creation “formed” from the dust of the ground, nevertheless used by an all-wise and merciful God as a means of incarnating on Earth in order to steer the evolutionary process of Restoration.

This is what I see underway on Earth in our day—has  been since the Fall.  It has taken this long for the evolution of human consciousness to reach a level of transformation that is sufficiently enlightened to accommodate the conscious emergence and revelation of incarnate angelic hosts through the bodies of as many human beings as are willing and transmute them in an apocalypse of Light.

It has also taken this long—after at least two failed opportunities—for the vibratory conditions in the energetic field of our planet and solar system, as well as cosmic factors in our relation, for example, to the constellations of Orion and The Pleiades, and our position in the energy belts of our Milky Way Galaxy, for the Restoration to be at all possible.  We are here, along with countless heavenly hosts, to steward this process so that Man can be restored to God and return to the Garden of Eden, where we will co-create with God a Garden of Paradise for and on the New Earth. It is why we incarnated. We are the appointed ones to get the job done.

I sense that time is at hand.  As I sat out with Bonnie in our paradisal back yard this evening, I felt a powerful wave of peace move through my body, moving across the entire globe.  I feel it even now as I write. Something of cosmic proportion is happening in the solar system, in the earth and in the body of Humanity. A New Heaven is descending upon human consciousness—the Heaven of Divine Consciousness—and already sown in its fecund soil are the vibrational seeds that hold sacred the patterns of design and control for the New Earth, along with instructions on how we are to go about co-creating Paradise here on earth.

In order to make room for the “New Jerusalem” descending from God out of Heaven, we must unclutter our consciousness of all the accoutrements and pabulum of the mind-made world to prepare our hearts to receive it.  John the Beloved describes it as “the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God our of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” In other words, as one who is loved with all of one’s heart, all of one’s mind, and all of one’s strength.

Shining the Light of Love

At the moment we are facing “darkness upon the face of the deep.” Just as darkness was upon the face of the deep in the Beginning, so is the New Earth emerging in a shroud of darkness. Darkness is the condition in which the seeds of change gestate and develop, out of sight and mental observation that typically leads to judgment and temptation to interfere.  I suspect that as the New Heaven gives birth to the New Earth, it will be unlike anything we’ve ever imagined or expected.  I pray we will not fall for the temptation to judge it as it evolves and interfere with the Creating Process, but let it be what it is and simply shine our “little light” into the darkness.  All creating cycles move toward oneness, from love—and already I see the Light of a New Dawn shining in the darkness; shining through emissaries of Light Divine throughout the world, angels coming forth in expression.

Let love radiate without concern for results.  As we are faithful to this one important and pivotal role, we can be assured that there will be results, and we will be surprised and greatly blessed, as will the Earth.

Paradise, as I said, is still materializing on Earth. There are still parts of the planet that have not been consumed by man and left barren.  Therefore there is a harmonious chord of synergy between Heaven and Nature manifesting beauty and sustainability with which we may partner, synchronize our life styles, alter the course of devolution and extinction of our species, and halt the total destruction of Paradise.  As we attune to the harmonious music of Mother Nature and dance to her rhythms and seasons, She welcomes us back and gladly accommodates our metamorphosis and restoration to the Creator of the heavens and the earth.  She awaits our return, and the return of her Beloved Creator to her Garden.

We are not alone in the process of transformation.  The entire Universe is with us as we turn around—the literal meaning of repent-–from our downward spiral to a dying exit from this earthly plane and start our journey back to Eden and an upward spiral that takes us back Home by way of ascension. No one need suffer or perish. We are loved more than we will ever know by the One who desires nothing more than to come into His Garden here on Earth, filled with peace and the fine substance of love. Love for this One with our all, and love for one another as our Self, is the only true way our personal and collective garden of consciousness can be prepared to receive the New Heaven for the New Earth.

I welcome any thoughts you may have. Until we meet again on this blog,

Be love. Be loved.

Getting Back to Eden, part 4: The Process of Transformation

“In my father’s house there are many mansions.” — Jesus

The passage above from the Gospel of John (14:2-4) has been a light of hope to many. The Aramaic text may be more likely what Jesus said speaking the language of the people:

“There are many lodgings in my Father’s house, and if not, I would have told you, because I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I shall come again and bring you to join me, that where I am you shall be also.  And where I am going, you know, and you know the way.”

The Teacher had a great love for his disciples, whom he called friends, and desired nothing more than that they should come to know what he knew and experience what he was experiencing.  I note that he said where I am” and not where I will be. He was on Earth in clear view of his disciples speaking with them days after his ordeal with death followed by his resurrection from the tomb, obviously in a transformed body—and I don’t think he was messing with their minds, telling them something that was not possible. As we have come to know over the millennia, transformation is possible and doable, here and now, and the “way,” as he had taken great pains to show them and all of mankind, is unconditional love: “I have only one command: that ye love one another as I have loved you.” And he loved those who came to his light just the way they presented themselves.

He had obviously ascended to a higher mansion in his father’s house, and they were yet feeling their way around on the ground floor trying to make sense of all that had just transpired so violently and unexpectedly, along with the changes they were feeling in their energetic fields just being in their Master’s presence those few years before he “ascended into heaven.” There is much teaching in this story.

The Many Mansions

We move from lower to higher levels of Being as we go through transformation, each level having its own energetic frequency—a transformed or stepped-down frequency of the ONE TONE of LOVE at the highest level of oneness with the Divine. There are those “ascended masters” who have reached that level during their incarnation, never to return again to the physical plane. All of us reincarnate until we learn to master each and every level of consciousness and are ready to ascend—and we cannot ascend from one level to the next without letting go of those coarse elements in the fabric of our outer being that are energized and maintained by the frequency of love specific to the level where we find ourselves—elements that cannot exist in a higher plane and frequency.

A friend, former associate, and colleague in the healing field, Dr. Lawrence Bakur, posted this view and perspective of the current human state on Facebook a few days ago.

“There are many vibratory dimensions to this world, as well as the worlds of spirit, and each dimension is home to a specific level of love that we each individually carry in our souls. Those with a lower frequency of love cannot live in the higher dimensions as it would “fry their circuits” so to speak.

“I have witnessed this on many occasions when those whose soul condition is one of service-to-self rather than service-to-others are in the presence of a higher love; they tend to go a bit crazy, which can manifest in childish rebelliousness or in extreme cases, anger and violence. What is happening is that the fire of love is confronting the emotional damage of their souls and in a sense they are writhing in pain to the extent that they resist. Of course, this Love can also free their souls and lift them up if they so choose.

“This is what I see taking place in the world today. There truly is a spiritual battle happening between the forces of light and the forces of darkness that fear being brought into the light. In fact, they are kicking and screaming, plotting and planning to maintain their power even as they are in the process of being left behind, depending on their choices.

“I’m reminded of the words of Moses to the Israelites who were caught between Pharaoh and the Red Sea: “Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.” Not that we simply sit back and relax. No, there may be many things to be done. But we can rest in the knowing that the victory is at hand. Why? Because Love conquers all and is absolutely unstoppable. In my own awareness of what’s happening on the planet, it’s picking up speed and those that fight it will not succeed. The Red Sea will part once more.”

And the miracle of salvation occurs by being at the right place at the right time when the sea of consciousness parts to reveal the Way across the threshold to a higher ground of being, a new and freeing perspective. In a word, a higher level of consciousness—a “new heaven.”

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow or crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” (Rev. 21:1-4)

The “holy city” and “new Jerusalem” symbolize the purified and sanctified state of human consciousness, absorbed into and reunited with Divine Consciousness in the final phase of the Restoration, at which point there will be “no more sea” of separate and isolated human consciousness, but only the dry land of a New Earth emerging from the Unified Field of Consciousness awaiting our care and stewardship.

I love how Lawrence articulates the essences-of-the-Moment in the transformation process of the Body of Man as we enter a particularly intense culminating phase in the cycles of the Restoration of Man to God.

In those five words is defined the underlying meaning and purpose of human life on Earth down through the ages since the Fall of Man from his position in Eden as the “conveyor of spirit to earth” and administrator of creation, as my poet friend Don Hynes wrote in a recent comment on my last post:

“I would only add that man restored is to God, becoming the conveyor of Spirit to the earth. Stewardship describes behavior but this time of revelation is calling for the return of the real meal deal!  The fall could be described as spiritual man falling into the creation. Divine man was to administer the creation, not be subject to it. Without the return to that position good works in the earth won’t matter, despite the good intentions.  I’m trying to elevate the position of Spiritual man without denigrating earth stewardship or the good works Richard (Heinberg) outlines.”

A Lesson in Mastery

Lawrence’s words bring up a memorable incident from my earlier years of attending professional workshops and seminars. I recall an encounter I had with my spiritual mentor at a time when he was apparently in the process of coming forth, just weeks before he made his transition from this earthly plane. I had just arrived to attend one of his symposiums when I met up with him and extended my hand to greet him.  He had already seen me approaching and, as he always did, was looking through my eyes into my heart, which was full of love for him and eagerness to hear him speak again.  As I approached and entered his immediate atmosphere, I was stopped by what seemed to be an invisible wall.  His dense, refined spiritual substance had completely enveloped his body, forming a protective shield around him.  I think he saw what was happening and lowered his frequency so that he could receive me just as I was.

For me it was a lesson in true mastery: meeting people at the level where the are in their journey, uncon-ditionally and without judgement, and not requiring them to meet me where I am.  It was also an exemplary reminder not to shine my light into the eyes of others but rather to shine it on the path to light the Way of transformation. He was a true master and beloved friend, the kind of teacher that appears when the student is ready. And apparently I was ready for enlightenment.

This has been a fruitful meditation for me, as I trust it has been for you. Until my next post in this series, in which I will share another excerpt from Richard Heinberg’s MEMORIES AND VISIONS OF PARADISE,

Be love. Be loved.

Paradise Remembered

“Myth is the history of the soul”

William Erwin Thompson penned those words. The Paradise myth, along with all the legends and stories about the “First People” handed down through the ages, are vivid and haunting reminders of our origins.  Who among us does not have a deep desire to live in Paradise—or for Paradise to be restored here on Earth?  It’s the unconscious impetus in our quest for the American Dream: “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”  It’s what we seek and hope to find in most of our endeavors to make a comfortable and happy life for ourselves and for our families—and why we go to the wilderness and camp out in the forests and national parks.  We want to be in Paradise, if only for a few days and nights filling our eyes and hearts with “Kodak moments,” camping out under the stars, and sitting by a stream of cool, clear water drinking in the golden silence and peaceful beauty of the Natural World.

Ken Burns has performed an outstanding service bringing the pristine peace and beauty of the natural world to the television for all to enjoy with his documentaries on the National Parks and Monuments airing on PBS again this weekend. Thanks primarily to John Muir, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln, thousands of square miles of undeveloped lands and mountain ranges have been preserved and set aside for us and our progeny to visit and be nourished by and reminded of the Paradise our planet Earth still is—inspired even to do our parts in keeping it that way.

VISIONS and MEMORIES of PARADISE

I’ve been reading my friend Richard Heinberg’s MEMORIES and VISIONS of PARADISE for the second or third time since it came into my hands many years ago, and my longing for Paradise has been quickened once again, this time with even deeper yearning.  Reading some of the stories about a once Golden Age when we were more angelic than human, and we spoke with the animals who “spoke” with us, I can almost taste the clean, fresh air and feel the pristine, magical Eden atmosphere. Here are a few memories from Richard’s book of what our ancestors, the “First People,” were like in the mythical Garden of Paradise:

The myths and traditions of the ancients do not portray Eden as the sort of technological Paradise that our present civilization tends to project into the future. If the Golden Age really existed, it must instead have been, as the Chinese describe it, an Age of Perfect Virtue—an age in which

they were upright and correct, without knowing that to be so was righteousness; they loved one another, without knowing that to do so was benevolence; they were honest and leal-hearted without knowing that it was loyalty; they fulfilled their engagements, without knowing that to do so was good faith; in their simple movements they employed the services of one another, without thinking that they were conferring or receiving any gift. Therefore their actions left no trace, and there was no record of their affairs.” *

They were kind and affectionate:

“The ability of human beings and animals to understand one another resulted in a condition, according to fifth-century B.C. philosopher Empedocles, ‘All were gentle and obedient to men, both animals and birds, and they glowed with kindly affection towards one another.'” *

They were radiant and could fly:

“According to virtually all accounts, human beings in the paradisal age were possessed of qualities and abilities that can only be called miraculous.

“They were wise, all-knowing, and able to communicate easily not only with one another but with other living things; moreover, they could fly through the air, and they shone with visible light.” *

They were wise and godlike in appearance:

“In contrast to the contemporary view of early humans as dull and brutish, the myths speak of them as sages. In Jewish folklore, Adam is described as being so wise and so beautiful to behold that the creatures of the Earth mistook him for the Creator and, together with the angels of Heaven, bowed down and chanted, ‘Holy, holy, holy.’ It is also said that God revealed the whole of the future to Adam, as well as the geography of the entire Earth. In these respects, Adam resembled Adapa, the Babylonian First Man, who ‘was equipped with vast intelligence …. His plane of wisdom was the plane of heaven’” The ancient Mayans similarly described the four First People as wise and all-knowing. According to the Popul Vuh, the Mayan book of lore and customs, the people of the first age were so perceptive that when ‘they lifted up their eyes … their gaze embraced all; they knew all things; nothing in heaven or earth was concealed from them.’ These created ones rendered thanks, saying,“‘Truly, thou gavest us every motion and accomplishment! We have received existence, we have received a mouth, a face; we speak, we understand, we think, we walk; we perceive and we know equally well what is far and what is near; we see all things, great and small, in heaven and upon the earth. Thanks be to you who created us, 0 Maker, 0 Former!'”*

AN AGE OF INNOCENCE

The Golden Age was an age of innocence; its inhabitants simple and childlike—much like the late and memorialized Mr. Rogers as portrayed by Tom Hanks in the movie “Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.” With Richard’s permission, I will share a few excerpts from his thoroughly researched and captivating book, with little if any commentary from me.  I invite you to just read the stories and let the magic they still hold enchant your heart as you ponder them deeply in your imagination.  They may even trigger up memories of Paradise from out of the collective unconscious, as they did for me, and quicken in you an inspiration to live as though in Paradise.  Perhaps the adage “To become, act as if” may apply in our shared work of creating a heavenly home for our Creator here on Earth. Legends tell of a time when the Creator lived with his Creation and walked with Man in the Garden of Eden.  Listen to these stories.

ONCE UPON A TIME all human beings lived in friendship and peace, not only among themselves but with all other living things as well. The people of that original Age of Innocence were wise, shining beings who could fly through the air at will, and who were in continual communion with cosmic forces and intelligences. But a tragic disruption brought the First Age to an end, and humanity found itself estranged from both Heaven and Nature. Ever since then we have lived in a fragmented way, never really understanding ourselves or our place in the Universe. But occasionally we look back, with longing and regret, and dream of a return to the Paradise we once knew. . . .

The tribes of central and southern Africa preserved myths of an original time when the celestial God and human beings were friends, before the separation of Heaven and Earth. It was an age that was typified in the saying of the Ngombe tribe of Zaire: “In the beginning there were no men on earth. The people lived in the sky with Akongo and they were happy.” Ethnologist Paul Schebesta recorded the following tradition from the Bambuti Pygmies of central Africa:

After God had created the world and men, he dwelt among them. He called them his children. They gave him the name of father. … He showed himself a good father to men for he so placed them in this world that they could live without much effort and were above all free from care and fear. Neither elements nor animals were inimical to man and foodstuffs grew ready to his hand. In short, the world was a paradise as long as God dwelt among men. He was not visible to them but he was in their midst and spoke to them.”

Summarizing African myths about the First Age, folklorist Herman Baumann wrote:

In the view of the natives, everything that happened in the primal age was different from today: people lived forever and never died; they understood the language of animals and lived at peace with them; they knew no labor and had food in plenitude, the effortless gathering of which guaranteed them a life without care; there was no sexuality and no reproduction—in brief, they knew nothing of all those fundamental factors and attitudes which move people today’

It was only when the people set themselves against the other creatures that God was driven away and the original harmony of Nature was destroyed.

And that will be the consideration of my next post in this series. Until then,

Be love. Be loved

Anthropos: Being Fully Human

This is huge. I will be challenged in these next two or three post to my utmost capacity to synthesize, as I have been studying various authors and each one of them sheds a different light on the subject — and I will lean heavily upon them all for excerpts. So, I’ll just dive right in and let Spirit guide me where it will.

I will launch this multi-post consideration with this passage from logion 114 of the Gospel of Thomas:

Simon Peter said to him: “Let Mary leave us, for women are not fit for the life.” Jesus answered: “See, I have been guiding her so as to make her into a human [Anthropos]. She, too, will become a living breath like you. For any woman who becomes a human will enter into the Kingdom of God.”

Another translation of the same passage says it differently and more to the point I’m aiming to make:

Simon Peter said to them: “Mary should leave us because women are not worthy of the life.” Jesus responded: “Look, I’ll lead her in order to make her male so that she can become a living spirit as you males are. For each woman who makes herself male wll enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.”

In the first translation, the word “human” is used. In the second, the word “male” is used. I will call upon Jean-Yves Leloup for an interpretation of this poignant passage in her book The Gospel of Mary Magdalene:

The error of many translators is to render this as having something to do with being male. It is clear from the original Greek that the meaning
is that of anthropos (human being in the general sense), and not of andros (man in the masculine sense). It is true that in order to become whole, a human being must integrate in herself or himself the complementary gender. And this work or realization of wholeness is certainly not something that only or especially women have to do–we each have our own work of becoming an Anthropos, a fully human being. . . .

The term anthropos is also richer than the term androgyne, which is sometimes used as the translation of the former, for sexual and psychic
polarities form only a part of what must be integrated in becoming fully human.

The other part is contained in the words “living breath” or “living spirit,” one’s true Self. And here I would introduce a consideration of the differences between male and masculine and between female and feminine. The first, male, relates to physical form, whereas masculine relates to spiritual or energetic essences. The same is applicable for female and feminine. I will address this difference after this clarifying explanation by the same author:

This recalls a passage from the Gospel of Matthew:

But he said to them, “Not all men can receive this saying, but only those to whom it is given. For there are eunuchs who have been so from birth, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the Kingdom of Heaven. He who is able to receive this, let him receive it.”

Some scholars have detected here the hand of an editor who was influenced by some sort of dualistic or ascetic teaching, one that was to
influence Christianity’s monastic departure from Old Testament teachings. Indeed, it does seem implausible that Yeshua would advocate
destroying the work of the Creator. How could he who claimed to be One with the Father advocate such mutilation of his creatures?

Others explain this by an improper translation or transmission of Yeshua’s words. The word eunuch should be replaced by the word androgyne. Unfortunately the latter word (like so many others) was and still is often misunderstood and reduced to a sexual meaning that evokes some
sort of freakish bisexual mixture that is neither male nor female–hardly an advantage for someone who is already having difficulties in finding his or her identity!

As in so many other domains, one can only transcend that which one has fully known and accepted. One must live one’s own sexuality in one’s
own body before speaking of a higher state of androgyny. As in psychotherapy, one must first have an ego that is as sane and stable as possible before pretending to have access to what is often (perhaps too often) called the Self.

This is why the authors of the Gospel of Mary considered it so important that Yeshua really lived his masculine sexuality, perhaps with Miriam, perhaps with another woman. This was necessary in order for him to become the archetype of synthesis, the Anthropos that he was. I prefer the term anthropos to androgyne because the former word still leads to confusion today, in spite of a widespread contemporary appreciation of
the value of spiritual integration and balance of male and female polarities in us. Rather than defending the literal translation of the original
word used in certain early Christian texts, it is preferable here to defend, through the word we choose as its translation, the truth and richness of meaning in what the original word communicates.

What is important is to become whole. This is what makes us able to truly love, not from our sense of lack, but from our plenitude, as Yeshua
himself loved us.

In the same way, we can say that it is because Miriam of Magdala fully lives her feminine sexuality, and because she fully accepts and integrates the masculine dimension of her being, that she is able to speak with authentic knowledge of the Word–though today, as during her time, there are still those who would deny her this. But it is only after the long and slow work of becoming fully human that she can legitimately speak, as an Anthropos, of the fullness of a humanity that, like Yeshua’s, is open to the Divine and transparent to its clear light–the most invisible and subtle of lights.

Of course one can take or leave Leloup’s interpretation of these passages. I personally resonate with his words of clarification.  For one thing, he has helped me come to terms with my own conflicted view of homosexuality, having been somewhat biased by my unsavory confrontation with pedofilia in my seminary years studying for the Roman Catholic priesthood, which left me with a deep aversion to anything the looked like men doing anything sexual to or with other men. But, that’s mine to work with and through.

MAKE THE TWO ONE

Masculine and feminine energies exist as two seemingly separate forces only in this “creating universe,” this illusory world of material forms, as Walter Russell expounds upon in his 1926 signature masterpiece THE UNIVERSAL ONE. The energy out of which these forces are born and in which they move and have their being in One, male and female bodies not withstanding. There is only One who occupies these capacities, and that One is what Jesus calls the “Living Spirit” and “Living Breath” in the Gospel of Mary Magdalene and the Gospel of Thomas. With this clarification–and with what I have written about in my previous post “The Imaginal Realm: As Above So Below”–see if you can “see” with the spiritual eyes of your heart what is being conveyed in the following passage from The Gospel of Thomas (22a & 22b):

Jesus saw infants being suckled. He said to his disciples: “These infants taking milk are like those who enter the Kingdom.”

His disciples asked him: “If we are infants will we enter the Kingdom?”

Jesus responded: ” When you make the two into one, and when you make the inside like the outside and the outside like the inside, and the upper like the lower and the lower like the upper, and thus make the male and the female the same, so that the male isn’t male and the female isn’t female. When you make an eye to replace an eye, and a hand to replace a hand, and a foot to replace a foot, and an image to replace an image, then you will enter the Kingdom.”

I could ponder this passage for days and still not comprehend with my intellect what the Teacher is saying. And what does it have to do with babies being suckled? He was obviously coming from a wisdom higher than that of the world. One can understand why he once told his disciples that he had much more to share with them, but they could not bear it. I wonder if we are able to bear it today with our highly educated intellects. It has been said that understanding if of the heart. This teaching has to be taken into the heart for understanding, something that the books I have been reading this past year have helped me to do.

The Teacher in speaking here from the standpoint of creating in and from the imaginal realm, where images are sown as seeds from above into the soil of human consciousness. He is speaking of the alchemy of begetting as compared to the chemistry of making. “Begotten not made” is a phrase found in the Nicene Creed referring to the “only begotten Son of the Father.” This is historically known as “Fifth Way Love,” which I will consider in my next post.

ATTUNEMENT WITH LOVE

From the standpoint of subtle energy healing through what has come to be called the “Attunement Process” in my field of service, the conscious focus of the practitioner is not on the analogue but on the image; not on the distorted physical form, perhaps fragmented and depleted, but on the perfection of the spiritual body which is whole and vital.  Our work is primarily done in the secret place of the Heaven, in Love’s domain, where we conceive images of wholeness and vitality. That wholeness and vitality is being transferred moment by moment to the physical body via this imaginal realm of spiritual substance — “pneumaplasm”– which bridges the two worlds that are one in reality.  Attunement is with the vibrational tone of Love.

This is what the Teacher called the “Kingdom.” When we as healers, or as complete human beings, anthropos, access and enter into the imaginal realm — which we can only do as Beings coming from above — where the images of healthy form and function are available for transference to the physical body, then we can make an eye to replace an eye, and a hand to replace a hand, and a foot to replace a foot, and an image to replace an image. From the view in the Heaven, the inside is like the outside and the outside like the inside; the upper is like the lower and the lower like the upper; then the male isn’t male and the female isn’t female but they are the same. We are not male and female. We are Anthropos, fully Human and living spirits, with masculine and feminine energies blended together in our incarnating capacities. We are sons and daughters of God. “Ye are gods.”

As a segue to my next post, I will close with an excerpt from Cynthia Bourgeault’s signature work, The Meaning of MARY MAGDALENE – Discovering The Woman at the Heart of Christianity. She quotes here a passage from the Gospel of Philip:

“The one who creates objects works outwardly in the external world. The one who labors in secret, however, works within the icon, hidden inwardly from others. The one who creates make objects visible to the world. The one who conceives gives birth to children in the Realm of the Unseen.”

In this complex distinction . . . Philip insists that begetting must come “from above”. . . .  It requires a free and conscious regeneration in the Spirit. “Begotten” is an alchemy in which spirit actively participates, and its fruit is the anthropos, or completed human being.

Until my next post,

Be love. Be loved.

The Imaginal Realm: “As Above So Below”

I just finished listening to an interview with Dr. Becca Tarnas on the blog Rune Soup. She and George, the moderator, have a most interesting conversation on the topic of the “Imaginal Realm.”  If you have an hour or so to spare, have a listen. In the interview Dr. Tarnas focuses on Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings trilogy and Carl Jung’s “Red Book” as examples of  authors who cross over into the “imaginal realm” from which they tell stories that convey messages for our time and civilization.  I would like to delve into this topic a bit in this blog post.

In her evocative and controversial book The Meaning of Mary Magdalene – The Woman at the Heart of Christianity, author and Episcopal prelate Cynthia Bourgeault makes a distinction between the “imaginal realm” and imagination which I feel deserves in-depth consideration. The context of this consideration is the vision Mary Magdalene has of Jesus just after his resurrection when she reportedly mistakes him for the gardner.  In her gospel, Mary Magdalene tells the apostles of Jesus’ resurrection and goes on to describe her remarkable experience with him.

I saw the Master in a vision and I said to him, “Lord I see you now in a vision.” And he answered me, “You are blessed, Mary, since the sight of me does not disturb you. For where is the nous [the heart] lies the treasure.” Then I said to him: “Lord, when someone meets you in a Moment of vision, is it through the soul [psyche] that they see, or is it through the Spirit [Pneuma] ?”

The Teacher answered: “It is neither through the soul nor the spirit , but the nous between the two that sees the vision….”

The “nous” is the heart, or the “eye of the heart.” It’s our capacity to discern spiritual or vibrational essences. It’s the space between the infinite and the finite, between pure spirit and gross matter – and it is said to belong to Spirit, generated as it is by Spirit for communicating with the physical world and for conveying “images” for the manifestation of “analogues”– the manifest forms.

From Cynthia’s book:

Most of us, reared in the scientific objectivism of our times, tend to think of visions as “subjective.” They belong to the realm of the personal and interior and, while perhaps illuminating the workings of an individual psyche, do not conform to anything in external reality. These, in fact, were precisely the criticisms that began to be raised during the third and fourth centuries, when visionary revelation was rejected as an authentic mode of knowing within the church. But in the original wisdom anthropologies . . . visionary knowledge is not an “experience,” let alone a private or subjective one; it is “of an ontological reality entirely superior to mere possibility” It emanates from an actual realm, a realm that is in fact more subtle and endowed with real Being than our own. In fact, in the reversal of our usual sense of things, it is the place of origin from which what we usually refer to as “reality” is merely the shadow projected into space and time.

Many centuries later, when this implicit anthropology came to maturity in the work of some remarkable Near Eastern Islamic mystics, this realm would be given the title “the imaginal realm.” Imaginal does not mean “imaginary”—that is, fictitious or subjective. It means the realm in which the images—the eternal prototypes—reveal themselves in their full authenticity. Remember how, in dialogue I, Jesus introduced the notion of “image” as a kind of primordial template? The imaginal is the realm from which these images emanate. . . . “that in-between zone where spirits become embodied and bodies become spiritualized.”

“Pneumaplasm”

The word “pneumaplasm” was coined by Lloyd Meeker (Uranda) eighty some years ago to represent this substance through which Spirit communicates with the material world.  Uranda was the founder of the Attunement service now being offered by attunement practitioners the world over.  I have incorporated sacred sound in my personal attunement service and have written a book about this sacred technology. I would like to share an excerpt from my book, Attunnement With Sacred Sound, from the section “Cellular Replication in a Musical Matrix of Light.”

“Image” and “Analogue” — “As Above so Below”

“From a mystical and metaphysical perspective, the Hermetic teaching ‘as above so below’ is restated by the great mystic Jesus who left a profound teaching himself with his disciples in a stream of dialogue that was recorded in both the Gospel of Mary Magdalene and the Gospel of Thomas, manuscripts that were discovered as early as 1896 (the Magdalene text) and as late as the mid twentieth century [1945] when Nag Hammadi material was discovered. In both of these Gospels, Jesus speaks about an ‘Image.’

“In her powerfully compelling and provocative book, The Meaning of MARY MAGADALENE—Discovering the Woman at the Heart of Christianity, Episcopal priest and author Cynthia Bourgeault shares teachings of the Master Jesus from The Gospel of Mary Magdalene that transgress lines of traditional orthodoxy. I will excerpt several passages from the fourth chapter of her book that are pertinent to this discussion, starting with a dialogue around ‘image’ and ‘analogue.’

Within the particular metaphysical stream that Jesus seems to be working in, image corresponds to that primordial template mentioned earlier—“the origin” of each created form. Very cautiously, you might label it an archetype. At first glance you may be tempted to transpose this teaching into Platonic categories and assume that Jesus is talking about the “ideal form” of a thing. But be cautious in doing so, for there is a distinctly different dynamism at work here. For Jesus, the “image” is not merely a static blueprint, a preexistent prototype that its earthly analogue mechanically reflects. Between image and analogue there is a dynamic reciprocity as they simultaneously articulate the same reality in two different realms. Image and analogue are in continuously creative tension receiving and fulfilling each other, and it is in the energy exchange that their indivisible wholeness is made manifest.

Images do not arise in this realm, however (their origin is several cosmoses more subtle), and trouble begins when this fundamental cosmic law is forgotten. . . .

“I like her use of the word ‘analogue’ here, which means similar in function but not in origin and structure, as it represents accurately the relationship between Man and his Creator, in whose image and likeness we are made in order to function as creators ourselves. In our energy and attunement work you might say that we seek to facilitate a clarifying, balancing and intensification of this ‘energy exchange’ between image and analogue with the intention that the oneness between them may be made manifest in the person’s experience of life, as well as in our own. . . .

“In ‘Dialogue One,’ a disciple asks Jesus about matter and whether it will ‘survive.'”[This inquisitiveness on the part of the disciple, taking place as this dialogue does in the wake of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead, makes perfect sense. “Are you really here in the flesh or simply in a vision?” Or, more to the point, “Did the matter of your body live on after death?” the student asks.]

“Jesus answered: ‘All of nature with its forms and creatures exist together and are interwoven with each other. They will be resolved back, however, to their own proper origin, for the compositions of matter return to the original roots of their nature. Those who have ears, let them hear this.’

“Cynthia Bourgeault expands on this:

But by this . . . he does not mean they dissolve into their component atoms, quarks and/or humors. Instead, they return to an original template—or ‘image’— whose place of arising is in another realm.

“The dialogue suddenly turns into an inquiry about sin and its origin, into which Jesus offers a remarkably clarifying perspective.

Sin as such does not exist. You only bring it into manifestation when you act in ways that are adulterous in nature. It is for this reason that the Good has come among you pursuing its own essence within nature in order to reunite everything to its origin. This is also the reason for sickness and death, because you embrace what deceives you. Consider these matters, then, with your spiritual intellect. Attachment to matter gives birth to passion without an Image of itself because it is drawn from that which is contrary to its higher nature. The result is that confusion and disturbance resonates throughout one’s whole being. It is for this reason that I told you to find contentment at the level of the heart, and if you are discouraged, take heart in the presence of the Image of your true nature. Those with ears, let them hear this.

“A ‘Vertical Axis’

“Cynthia Bourgeault offers that ‘within his particular frame of reference, acting in ways that are ‘adulterous in nature’ will prove to have very specific meaning. It signifies a failure to stay aligned with origin; with that mysterious ‘root’ (or template) of one’s nature he has already alluded to, which, while arising beyond this realm, seeks its full expression here.” . . . [Jesus] quickly assures his students that this world is valuable and precious; indeed, this is the very reason the Good has come among them in the first place—“pursuing its own essence within nature . . . in order to reunite everything to its origin.’ There is important integrative work to be done here. But it all depends upon keeping a right alignment along what wisdom tradition typically refers to as the ‘vertical axis’: the invisible spiritual continuum that joins the realms together. Nearly sixteen centuries later, the German mystic Jacob Boehme would express this cosmological insight with poetic precision and beauty:

‘For you must realize that earth unfolds its properties and powers in union with Heaven aloft above us, and there is one Heart, one Being, one Will, one God, all in all.’

“The author then offers these words of truth and wisdom derived from Jesus’ teaching:

When the realms are in spontaneous resonance—’One Heart, one Being, one Will, one God, all in all’—the music of the spheres bursts forth. When they are not, disease and disharmony inevitably ensue. As he quickly points out (again, with a contemporary feeling to the teaching), ‘Confusion and disturbance resonate throughout one’s whole being,’ and sickness and death are the inevitable result.

“The heart realm is the ‘secret place’ in which we commune with God; the capacity for spiritual discernment and understanding. It is precisely this ‘vertical axis’ around which we must wrap our hearts in order to attune to the vibration of the Lord of Love, from whence all power to heal and uplift derives. I bring these excerpts into this writing for the profoundly clear light they shine on the core essence and purpose of attunement and energy work, as well as for the perspective and insight they offer into the dynamism at work between inner Reality and outer form—continually giving to and receiving from each other the spiritual energies that generate the pneumaplasmic substance that connects spirit with form and makes possible their manifest wholeness and oneness. I was deeply moved when I first read this chapter, as I was profoundly uplifted—and continue to be—reading and re-reading Cynthia’s book.”

The imaginal realm is precisely the realm that we, as healers and co-creators, must become intimate with in bringing down into the earth the true patterns of life which alone can restore order and harmony to our world. As we make visible the invisible Reality imaged for us in this heaven, our Earth is restored.

I will leave this consideration at that and continue the discussion in my next post, in which I will open up a consideration of the masculine and feminine energies at work in our human capacities and throughout the “creating universe,” as Walter Russell describes the world in which we live and have our being. Until then,

“The Secret of Light”

This is without a doubt the most challenging blog I’ve yet to attempt writing, for my subject is a very deep and complex thinker and writer. No one that I have read thus far has written so eloquently and authoritatively on the nature of Light as has Walter Russell. I am reading his book The Secret of Light for the second time and it amazes me how it seems that it’s really for the first time – even with the highlights proving that I’ve read it before. It’s been a few years since my first reading, and it seems I’ve evolved in consciousness enough to be able to hear more deeply what he is saying in his unique articulate manner of word usage – as you will soon see from the excerpts I wish to share in this series. So, let’s dive right into the remarkable mind of Walter Russell (1871-1963) to see what wisdom and understanding we might glean from his writings. I will simply start out with his statement of intention from the Author’s Forward:

Walter Russell

Jesus said “GOD IS LIGHT,” and no man of that day knew what He meant. The day is now here when all men must know what Jesus meant when He said “GOD IS LIGHT.”

For within the secret of Light is vast knowledge yet unrevealed to man. Light is all there is; it is all we have to deal with, but we do not yet know what it is. The purpose of this message is to tell what it is.

And, of course, the rest of the book does just that: it tells what Light is – and it’s nothing like anything you or I have imagined it to be or knew it to be. We’ve simply taken it for granted. Now, as I recall other words Jesus is recorded to have spoken, Walter’s words ring true to His words about the “kingdom of heaven” being “within you and all around you. . . . Repent [turn around], for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Light, that which all of creation is made of, is within us and all around us. Look again and see clearly that the kingdom – the governance – of Light, of God, is at hand.  We do not have to die in order to arrive in heaven – if, indeed, dying were even possible – for we are there already in the here and now.  As for death, according the Russell, there is no such thing – but that’s a later post of this series on The Secret of Light.

There is no way that I can simplify a subject matter that is so complex, and yet so simple and logical, that it defies further simplification for further explanation. So, I will not attempt to explain the secret of Light, and therefore of God, as Walter Russell does so uniquely. I will let his words meet your eyes and intellect directly without my interpretations. I will simply limit my interference to your read with occasional comments and impressions. What is of utmost importance is that we human beings come to know what is real and what is mere illusion in the world in which we live and have our being. I will start this series with chapter twelve, entitled “LIGHT,” taking into consideration all that has been considered in previous chapters that may enhance our comprehension and understanding. Enjoy the read.

Chapter XII

LIGHT

Light cannot be seen; it can only be known. Light is still. The sense of sight cannot respond to stillness. That which the eyes “feel” and believe to be Light is but wave motion simulating the idea of Light. Like all things else in this electric wave universe the idea of Light cannot be produced. Electric waves simulate idea only. They do not become idea.

When man sees the light of the sun he believes that he is actually seeing light when the nerves of his eyes are but “feeling” the intense, rapid, shortwave vibrations of the kind of wave motion which he senses as incandescence. The intensely vibrant electric current mirrored into the senses of the eyes fairly burns them. They cannot stand that high rate of vibration. The eyes would be destroyed by such a vibration, but light would not be the cause of that destruction. Fast motion, simulating light, would be the cause. It would be like sending a high voltage electric current over a wire so fine that the current would burn it out.

Man likewise cannot see darkness. The nerves of his eyes which sense motion slow down to a rate of vibration which he can no longer “feel.”

Man is so accustomed to the idea that he actually sees light in various intensities illuminating various substances to greater or lesser degree that it is difficult for him to realize that his own senses are but acting as mirrors to reflect various intensities of wave motion. But that is all that is happening.

Every electrically conditioned thing in Nature reflects the vibrations of every other thing, to fulfill its desire to
synchronize its vibrations with every other thing. All matter is the motion of light. All motion is expressed in waves. All light waves are mirrors which reflect each other’s condition unto the farthermost star.

This is an electrically conditioned wave universe. All wave conditions are forever seeking oneness. For this reason all sensation responds to all other sensation.

IS LIGHT A WAVE OR CORPUSCLE?

Much controversy has arisen as to whether light is corpuscular, as Newton claimed it to be, or a wave. There is much evidence in favor of both theories. It is both. Light is expressed by motion. All motion is wave motion. All waves are expressed by fields of equal and opposite pressures of two-way motion. The entire volume within wave fields is filled with the two opposite expressions of motion-the positive expression which compresses light into solids, and the negative expression which expands it into space surrounding solids.

All space within wave fields is curved. Curvature ends at planes of zero curvature which bound all wave fields.
These boundary planes of omnipresent magnetic Light act as mirrors to reflect all curvature into all other wave
fields in the universe, and as fulcrums from which motion in one wave field is universally repeated.

ALL MATTER IS WAVE MOTION

Together these constitute what we call matter and space. It has been difficult to conceive light as being purely corpuscular, for light is presumed to fill all space. Space is not empty. It is full of wave motion. Corpuscles of matter are one half of wave cycles of light. Space is the other half.

There need be no mystery as to whether light is corpuscular or wave, for waves of motion which simulate the light and darkness of space are all there is.

The light and motion of solid matter, and of gaseous matter of space, differs only in volume and condition. Water of earth is compressed into small volume while water of the heavens is expanded thousands of time in volume. Each condition is the opposite half of the cycle of water.

Water vapor is water turned inside-out. It again becomes water by turning outside-in. Expansion contraction sequences result from this process.

ALL MATTER IS SIMULATED LIGHT

Water of the heavens still is water, and it still is light waves. No change whatsoever has taken place between
the waters of earth and those of the heavens except a change of its condition from positive to negative pre-ponderance. This change is due solely to a change of its direction in respect to its center of gravity.

All dense cold matter, such as iron, stone, wood, and all growing or decaying things, are light. We do not think of them as light but all are waves of motion, and all waves of motion are light.

Light is all there is in the spiritual universe of knowing, and simulation of that Light in opposite extensions is all there is in the electric wave universe of sensing. The simulation of Light in matter is not Light. There is no Light in matter.

Perhaps the confusion which attends this idea would be lessened if we classify everything concerning the spiritual universe, such as life, intelligence, truth, power, knowledge and balance as being the ONE LIGHT of KNOWING, and everything concerning matter and motion as being the TWO SIMULATED LIGHTS of thinking.

Thinking expresses knowing in matter but matter does not think, nor does it know.

Thinking also expresses life, truth, idea, power and balance by recording the ideas of those qualities in the two lights of matter in motion, but matter does not live, nor is it truth, balance or idea, even though it simulates those spiritual qualities.

Man’s confusion concerning this differentiation lies in his long assumption of the reality of matter. His assumption that his body is his Self, that his knowledge is in his brain, and that he lives and dies because his body integrates and disintegrates, has been so fundamental a part of his thinking that it is difficult for him to reverse his thinking to the fact that matter is but motion and has no reality beyond simulating reality.

The light which we think we see is but motion. We do not see light. We feel the wave vibrations set up by the
motion which simulates light, but the motion of electric waves which simulate light is not that which it simulates.

Let’s take a break from this dense reading and give our brains an opportunity to digest and assimilate what Russell has thus far presented. I’ll continue next week. Thank you for joining me in this blog series “The Secret of Light.”

The “Jesus of Faith” Vs the “Jesus of History” Part 5:4 “Take us down to the river”

“Jars of spring water are not enough anymore. Take us down to the river.” –Rumi

I will conclude this series of considerations of the Jesus of faith versus the Jesus of history with Michael Baigent’s own words summarizing the journey we have taken through his provocative book The Jesus Papers — Exposing the Greatest Cover-Up in History, words and thoughts that I fully embrace as resonant with my own spirit of understanding of the life and ministry of Jesus.

Here are Baigent’s final words from his book:

DURING THE COURSE of writing this book, I have sought out knowledge of a very special context – that of Egypt and Judaea in the first century of the modern era, a period about which there are few facts that we can be certain of. We have seen how the context can be controlled and forced to support a story that simply can’t be true. The Jesus of history cannot have been as the theology of the Jesus of faith presents him.

During the course of our journey, we have discovered that Jesus rejected the political activity of his Zealot supporters. This is a crucially important piece of information that has been missed. We have seen too that there is no evidence that he died on the cross; in fact, what evidence survives suggests otherwise. And if he didn’t die on the cross, where does that leave the resurrection? His divinity? His equality in the Holy Trinity? These claims all disintegrate once the spin stops.

We have discovered that all these assertions about Jesus came much later, the result of a glossy gift-wrapping of some historical events that were deliberately distorted in order to serve a strict theological agenda, one that maintains to the present day a number of extremely odd and eccentric notions. Foremost among these is the belief that only men were Christ’s closest disciples and so women cannot serve as priests, bishops, or popes. With this discovery, the male domination of the apostolic succession crumbles away, along with the Rome-centered concept of the succession itself.

And crucially, we have also discovered that there is no evidence to suggest that Jesus intended to be worshiped as a god. On the contrary, his teachings indicate that he wanted each person to have the opportunity to travel to the Far-World to find the Divine for himself or herself — or as he put it, to travel to the kingdom of heaven and be filled with the “Spirit of God.”

Where did Jesus learn all this? Not in Galilee, we have concluded, but much more likely in Egypt, where the Jewish community appears to have been more diverse than the Jewish community in Palestine and to have nurtured a more mystical approach to religion.

Furthermore, nothing in our findings suggests that Jesus ever planned to start a religion, let alone encourage others to write down his words and organize them into an official collection of sayings. In fact, quite the reverse is more likely I suspect that he wouldn’t have minded at all if people forgot him; what was more important to him was that people should not forget the way to the kingdom of heaven, a notion not restricted to Christianity and Judaism: “To be ignorant of the divine is the ultimate vice,” proclaim the texts attributed to the Egyptian sage Hermes Trismegistus.

It should be clear now that history is malleable: we have our facts, but we never have enough of them to be able to put our hands on our hearts and say, in all honesty, that we know for certain what happened. All history is a myth, a story created to make some sense out of the few events we can know. The past is a hypothesis erected to explain and justify the present.

In some ways this does not matter, for myths exist to communicate meaning, not history. But in this scientific age we want to know that the myths we live by are, if not true, at least based upon some approximation of the truth. We want to know that Jesus was really crucified, that Caesar was truly murdered by Brutus, that Paul did have a mystical experience on his way to Damascus. All these events are plausible, and there is no intrinsic reason why they might not be true.

But what do we do with beliefs such as Jesus walking on water?  Jesus having been raised from the dead? Peter founding the Roman Church with infallible popes? None of these beliefs is plausible, and there is no intrinsic reason why any of them should be true. Yet there are many who equally believe both sets of assertions.

Our modern world is dominated by the “religions of the book” Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. We can see that to base truth upon a written word makes it vulnerable to all the problems of interpretation and translation, to say nothing of religious distortion. The danger is that books foster a dependence upon belief rather than knowledge; if there has been one underlying theme of our journey, it has been that we need to travel the road for ourselves and experience its hardships, pleasures, and insights directly rather than secondhand or vicariously. (Bold emphasis mine)

And with that plea I must bring our journey to an end, not because there is no further to travel, for of course there is, but because we have traveled much already and it is now time to pause and reflect on just how far we have come.

As we halt, it only remains to quote the great Persian Sufi Jelaluddin Rumi, who, cutting straight to the heart of the matter, as was always his way, cried out to all who would listen: “Jars of spring water are not enough anymore. Take us down to the river!'”

To drink from the river is our birthright. Let no one deny us that freedom!

There is no argument that the impact upon the entire world of humankind that the presence and ministry of this one man made is nothing short of a profound transformation and elevation of the human spirit and of human consciousness. I know this is true for me personally. Just to think of him and to read his words in my red-letter Bible stirs my soul and quickens my spirit. Jesus is alive today in the heart of humanity as truly as he was alive and physically present on earth two-thousand years ago.

I’ll leave you with this five-minute video clip by Dr. Bruce Lipton on how our beliefs direct our lives 95% of the time and how religious beliefs are programs and not reality. Believing in God is not the same as knowing God. To know God is to go beyond belief and to know your Self. That is the only reality we can know for certain: that I AM.

In my next post I will consider the Aramaic Prayer of Jesus and the direct access to Father and Mother God available to all human beings on Earth. Until then,

Be love. Be loved.

The “Jesus of Faith’ vs the “Jesus of History” part 5:1 The Passion of Jesus

“Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son may also glorify thee:  ….I have glorified thee on earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do….”

These words are recorded by John (17:2-4) in the New Testament as being Jesus’ final words with his disciples before entering the Garden of Gethsemane. The last eleven words are the most significant: “I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.” These words were uttered by Jesus before he was crucified, which tells us that crucifixion was not necessary to his mission on earth, nor was it part of a divine “plan of salvation,” as Christian dogma teaches. That’s all spin on the part of Catholic theologians and Christianity in general–that Jesus died on the cross to redeem us from the clutches of Satan and to atone for our sins. All spin to create religious power and control over people based on guilt, shame and fear. Jesus’ message was one of forgiveness, compassion and love.

The following excerpt is from Claire Heartsong’s 2002 book, Anna, Grandmother of Jesus–A Message of Wisdom and Love.”  For me these words, though replete with modern spiritualistic concepts and thought, convey the true passion of Jesus as he may have expressed in words of assurance and comfort to his family and disciples. His passion was to reveal the glory of the Father’s love for humanity and for this world, which he accomplished with his life. They also convey the cosmic event of ascension for Mother Earth to a new level of vibration that was underway at the time. The book itself is a remarkable work which I highly recommend to my readers. Jesus’ name is “Yeshua” in the story, as told by Anna herself.

After John ben Zebedee’s group arrived at our designated rendezvous point, we ascended the well-worn path that crossed the Kidron Valley and took us up the Mount of Olives’ southern slopes. We found cloistered shelter within the Garden of Gethsemane’s oldest grove of gnarled olive trees. A cold, desert-borne breeze gently stirred the pungent odor of crushed, dry leaves underfoot. We silently took our places surrounding Yeshua and Mary Magdalene. Mary Anna and Ahmed sat beside me. We softly sang a litany of psalms, intoned Sanskrit mantras and the seventy-two Hebrew names of Father-Mother God, until we rested in a deep abiding calm.

Then Yeshua spoke. “The hour comes for which we have long prepared. You are the chosen ones that my Father-Mother God has given me to hold the Way of the Teacher of Righteousness secure. While the world sleeps you have chosen to be awake, and so it is that we have come together to prepare all things.

“Even with all your knowing and wisdom, more shall be accomplished these next fifty days than you can presently understand. For, I say to you, my Heavenly Father-Mother has established a New Covenant in me and my beloved Mary, that you now know not of, but soon you shall be our witnesses. I testify that what we do shall be imprinted in you, even as the signs of crucifixion imprint my hands, wrists and feet as a testimonial that the old patterns of atoning for guilt through blood sacrifice are to be done away. So shall it be that every cell of your physical body will likewise be imprinted with the universal codes of light and truth that shall surely set you free.”

In the midst of serenading cricket song, Yeshua paused. Our attention turned to embrace the nocturnal sounds of nature around us. Then he crushed an olive leaf between his fingers, and allowed the gentle breeze to send the fragments aloft. Next, my grandson picked up a nearby clod of earth, which crumbled in his hands and slowly sifted through his fingers. Smiling and acknowledging each disciple, he softly whispered, causing us to draw close to him, “Yea, even the least of these, which are of the Mother’s earthly body, will be likewise imprinted with ascending light. No creature hidden in the deepest place will escape the irresistible pull of our cosmic Mother’s love, when She brings all opposites together as divinely harmonious complements in Union. She shall surely bring down the Heavenly Father’s cosmic light in order to give this earthly body a new form. We have come together at this time to assist our cosmic Mother and Father to prepare humanity and Earth for ascension’s bright day, in a season yet to come.

”All of you, whether physically or in your light body, were with me as I lay in the sepulchre of the Great Pyramid of Egypt. I have taken you aside and have given you additional instruction these past six years. Therefore, know that what was placed into your conscious and subconscious knowing is now being opened to you. Now you may release the Old Covenant of our matriarchal and patriarchal ancestors who believed that original sin required blood sacrifice to appease an angry, jealous god and to keep the Earth Mother fertile.

“Likewise, it is you who will usher in the New Testament or New Covenant of the ascending and eternally living Christ who proclaims all life as innocent and in eternal union with its Creator. It is that same Christ living within you, who whispers this irrevocable truth to you day by day. Seek and you shall find. Knock and it shall be opened to you. It is you, my beloved companions, as you are and shall be, in a day that you now know not, who shall join with humanity to unite the highest heavenly realms of our Father with this, our beloved Earth Mother, to birth the Universal Christ into your consciousness.

“If you would enter the kingdom of Heaven on Earth, allow the differences that provide contrast to inspire you. Make the two, one, by joining the inner with the outer and the outer with the inner. Allow your feelings of love to flow, giving and receiving as one. So likewise, make the upper like the lower and the lower like the upper, merging the Heavenly Father and Earthly Mother, male and female, light and darkness into a single One. In this way you shall enter the bridal chamber where the Bridegroom claims you as himself. Then you shall surely enter the kingdom.”

Now Yeshua stood in the center of our intimate circle, lifting Mary Magdalene to stand beside him. With his arm securely around her, he said, “Mary and I shall now go off a short distance to pray and prepare all things. Remain here, watch, and pray also with all your might, mind, and soul. The time is short that we have together. Soon I shall be taken from you. Let not fear overcome you, but do the part that you have long prepared to do. Though what we shall now pass through is indeed the partaking of the bitter appearance of death, humbly replace that illusion with the true sweetness of your Father-Mother’s Will, which is eternal life.

“Remember this.” said Yeshua, his lips trembling. “As the sun is darkened and the Earth Mother quakes, keep your eye single and look into the heaven worlds. There you shall find me and know I have not left you. On the third day, this body shall rise, and you shall see me as I AM. So be it. Amen and Amen.” With these last words of comforting counsel, Yeshua stooped low and tenderly pulled his mother to him, kissing her forehead. Yeshua motioned to Peter, John and James ben Zebedee and his brother, James, and a small number of other close disciples, both male and female, to follow him. They could be seen about fifteen feet away sitting huddled in the shadows of ancient olive trees. Yeshua and Mary Magdalene went off a short distance further, sitting face to face, their cloaked forms barely discernable. We followed the example of the others and knelt on the ground, our bodies quaking with an ever-increasing intensity of energy. For some, the energy became so great that we fell prone upon the ground.

Below our bodies we could feel a low, humming vibration within the Earth that seemed to be rising to the surface from her core. As our consciousness expanded into a greater sense of oneness with the more subtle realms of intelligence that are often unacknowledged but nevertheless are always co-creating with humanity, we became aware of web-like patterns of light enveloping us, uniting with our hearts in profound unity and love. I witnessed legions of angels and ascended beings of this and other worlds providing us with their loving support should we choose to receive it. I was also aware of the ethereal city of light that we called the “New Jerusalem.”

That city of light is none other than the state of “Kingdom-consciousness” I wrote about in my last post. “It is my Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom” were words Jesus is recorded to have spoken to his disciples. That was his passion and purpose for incarnating. It had nothing to do with crucifixion and death. Even so, he took that on, faced it and overcame it by not dying . . . and that will be the subject of my Good Friday post. Until then,

Be love. Be loved.

Anthony
