Creating the New Earth Together

“The crucifixion wasn’t really the hard thing for Jesus; the hard thing was incarnation.”

THE PASSAGE ABOVE, attributed to the mystic Bernadette Roberts, sets the tone for this second in a series of three posts on the theme of the incarnation of Jesus, the son of God.  I continue from where my previous post left off sharing from Cynthia Bourgeault’s  beautiful and provocative book, THE WISDOM JESUS, Transforming Heart and Mind—A New Perspective on Christ and His Message.  We came into Being in Heaven before coming into Human form on Earth, and our journeys here were anything but pleasant.  We fell into this illusive world “from a lighter gravitational field to a heavier one.” With this post I celebrate the Winter Solstice and the beginning of yet another solar cycle initiated by the increase of Light.  Enjoy.

“Many Dwelling Places”

We Christians still inhabit a rather small universe, metaphysically speaking. We know that we live here on earth, and some of us may believe that above it is a place called heaven, counterbalanced by a place down below called hell. At very best it’s a three-tiered universe. But the ancient wisdom traditions (now strongly reinforced, incidentally, by findings emerging from modern physics and cosmology) universally suggest that we need to throw this three-story world out; it is far too cramped to contain the vastness of divine consciousness. There are many realms, wisdom teaches: not just earth, heaven, and hell, but countless densities or dimensions of existence, all of which exist to manifest or mirror an aspect of the divine fullness. Jesus himself states this very clearly to the disciples in his farewell discourses in the Gospel of John, when he says, “In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places” (John 14:2). He does not mean physical places but rather states of consciousness or dimensions of divine energy (as we saw in chapter 3 with Jim Marion’s recognition that the “Kingdom of Heaven” was Jesus’s way of referring to nondual consciousness). The tradition of sophia perennis (perennial wisdom) pictures this vastness as a “great chain of being” or “ray of creation.” which begins in a pure, high-intensity, invisible, subtle consciousness and “descends,” thickening as it does so, into this world we inhabit: the realm of sharp edges and tables and chairs and human beings crashing and banging against each other in a finite and terribly solid world.

The contemporary Christian hermeticist Valentin Tomberg envisions this ray as a vast energetic cascade, beginning in divine consciousness itself and ending up in our familiar empirical universe. In Meditations on the Tarot he writes:

“Modern science has come to understand that matter is only condensed energy. Sooner or later science will also discover that what it calls energy is only condensed psychic force, which discovery will lead in the end to the establishment of the fact that all psychic force is the condensation, purely and simply, of consciousness; i.e., spirit.”

Like a mountain whose base is solidly on the earth but whose summit is hidden in the clouds, this insight leads us step by step up the ray of creation. Modern physics certainly would have no difficulty with the assertion that matter is only condensed energy; this is officially the Second Law of Thermodynamics. But what about this next realm, “psychic force”? Here the paths divide. This second form of energy is well known to spiritual seekers, but largely invisible to hardcore science; it is the energy flowing through prayer, attention, intention, and will: those more subtle exchanges which science has so far declined to measure but which we know have the power to create demonstrable effects in the physical realm.”

Beyond psychic force, yet another energetic realm awaits us, claims Tomberg, for psychic force is itself only the “condensation” (that is, the densification or coarser expression) of a substance incomparably more intense and subtle: pure spirit, pristine consciousness itself, unmediated by any form of expression. This primordial quality is known by many names in the tradition-“I AM” in Judeo-Christian tradition, wujud (“reality”) in mystical Islam, rigpa (“pristine awareness”) in Tibetan Buddhism. The names vary, but the understanding remains the same. Virtually unanimously, the ancient wisdom roadmaps picture the cosmos as a vast light stream, radiating out from the ineffable Godhead through the realm of primordial intention (known in Christianity as the logos), into archetypal form and energies, and finally into human, earthly becoming. Our life here in this physical cosmos is merely the endpoint of a long journey of what you might call “divine redshift”— that is, the condensation or cooling down of the intense energy of pure spirit in order to make physical manifestation possible.

Down Here on the Edge

So here we find ourselves on this plane of existence, at or near the bottom of the great chain of being. What are we to make of our position? What are we doing “down” here in a world that seems so dense and sluggish, so coarse and fragile and finite? Even in our dreams we move faster than the speed of light, and our mystics and visionaries are perpetually reminding us that in our heart of hearts we remember and yearn for a state of greater spaciousness and fluidity.

It’s curious, when you come to think about it, how virtually all the world’s spiritual traditions see this earthly realm as somehow deficient. Depending on the tradition, our world is either an illusion or a mistake, but in either case we “fall” into it, from a lighter gravitational field to a heavier one. We have seen how the Judeo-Christian tradition upholds this understanding in its primordial myth of the fall of Adam and Eve. Other traditions (primarily the Eastern ones) see this world as a mirage, an illusion to be dispelled. Still other traditions, such as mystical Islam, carry a profound sense of exile and a “nostalgia for the infinite.” Here is not home.

Is there another way of looking at this? I believe there is, and I think that it is actually at the heart of what is intended by that beautiful mantra, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son.” But it is so spiritually counterintuitive that it remains almost entirely unspoken — at least I myself have never heard it spoken or written about in any of the traditions. To the extent that what I am seeing here is correct, Christian wisdom steps out into unknown territory, leaving even sophia perennis behind.

Here is my take: Yes, this is a very heavy, frustrating, difficult density that we come into by taking birth in the human realm. Because of the binary, finite nature of both the physical world itself and the egoic operating system we use to navigate it, it seems as though we’re always bumping into sharp edges. Life presents us with a series of seemingly irrevocable choices: to do one thing means that we have to give up something else; to marry one person means we can’t marry another; and to join a monastery means we can’t marry at all. Our confused agendas clash both inwardly and outwardly, and we cause each other pain. Our bodies age; we diminish physically; loved ones fall out of our lives. And the force of gravity is tenacious, nailing our feet to the ground and usually our souls as well.  I remember my granddaughter, now five, who from the very moment she arrived on this planet experienced an intense frustration bordering on fury at her inability to move. “What the hell?” she seemed to be saying as she flailed her little arms and legs and tried even at four months old to wriggle herself across the room. I have never seen a child who
felt the constriction of this planet as much as she did.

Yes, we come into constriction, but is that the same as punishment! I believe not. I believe rather that this constriction is a sacrament and we have been offered a divine invitation to participate in it.

Remember our discussion of sacrament at the beginning of this chapter! A sacrament reveals a mystery in a particularly intense way while at the same time offering the means for its actualization. And in this sphere of human life, the sacrament is finitude and the mystery is “I was a hidden treasure and I loved to be known….”

Notice that there is a subtle double meaning at work in this phrase. At one level “I loved to be known” is a synonym for “I longed to be known” (and the phrase is often translated that way). But you can read the words in another way: “I loved in order to be known”– and when you do, they reveal a deeper spiritual truth.  In order to become known to another, we must take the risk of loving that person, and this includes the real possibility of rejection and the even more painful prospect of heart break if the beloved is lost to us. It is difficult to risk love in a world so fragile and contingent. And yet, the greater the gamble of self-disclosure, the more powerful the intimacy and the more profound the quality of devotion revealed.

Could it be like this for God as well?

Could it be that this earthly realm, not in spite of but because of its very density and jagged edges, offers precisely the conditions for the expression of certain aspects of divine love that could become real in no other way? This world does indeed show forth what love is like in a particularly intense and costly way. But when we look at this process more deeply, we can see that those sharp edges we experience as constriction at the same time call forth some of the most exquisite dimensions of love, which require the condition of finitude in order to make sense — qualities such as steadfastness, tenderness, commitment, forbearance, fidelity, and forgiveness. These mature and subtle flavors of love have no real context in a realm where there are no edges and boundaries, where all just flows. But when you run up against the hard edge and have to stand true to love anyway, what emerges is a most precious taste of pure divine love. God has spoken his most intimate name.

Let me be very clear here. I am not saying that suffering exists in order for God to reveal himself. I am only saying that where suffering exists and is consciously accepted, there divine love shines forth brightly. Unfortunately, linear cause-and-effect has progressively less meaning as we approach the deep mysteries (which originate beyond time and thus have no real use for it). But the principle can be tested. Pay attention to the quality of human character that emerges from constriction accepted with conscious forgiveness as compared to what emerges from rage and violence and draw your own conclusions.

At any rate, I have often suspected that the most profound product of this world is tears. I don’t mean that to be morbid. Rather, I mean that tears express that vulnerability in which we can endure having our heart broken and go right on loving. In the tears flows a sweetness not of our own making, which has been known in our tradition as the Divine Mercy. Our jagged and hard-edged earth plane is the realm in which this mercy is the most deeply, excruciatingly, and beautifully released. That’s our business down here. That’s what we’re here for. ♦ (Emphasis added)

I love Cynthia’s passion and I’m finding her insights enlightening relative to the evolution and transformation taking place in Christian thinking and in the collective consciousness as a whole, probably because I still have a place of compassionate caring in my heart for my Catholic roots.  Not that I’m setting out on a mission to save the Catholic Church.  It’s the betrayed and misled that I care about, and who I have in mind and heart sharing Cynthia’s writings.  Please feel free to wisely share these blog posts with friends and family.  We will find out where the author is taking this consideration in the final series installment, which I will post on Christmas day.  Until then, Happy Solstice.

The Incarnation of God

I was a hidden treasure, and I loved to be known, and so I created the worlds both visible and invisible.” — Islamic Tradition

CHRISTMAS IS A YEARLY CELEBRATION of the incarnation of God’s only son, the Lord of Love and Prince of Peace, on Earth. I would like to share with you an insightful view and perspective of the incarnation of Jesus as a fully humanized being, taken from Cynthia Bourgeault’s beautifully written and profoundly insightful book THE WISDOM JESUS.  Its author is an Episcopal priest who has written several books exploring Jesus’ life as a mystical teaching and sacrament.

Having emerged from a Catholic upbringing myself, and having spent seven years in Catholic Seminary, I do enjoy sharing this author’s vision of what Christianity could be simply by adopting a more metaphysical view and understanding of it core truth and of the One whose birth we celebrate this week.  Cynthia takes us from where we’ve been in our religious path of worshiping God, to where we are now at the threshold of opportunity for a radical shift in our attitude and consciousness, and forward to how we could easily move into a more spirit and love based path to knowing God.  I will share selections from her book in two or more blog posts.  I hope you will enjoy her as much as I do.

THE INCARMATION

IN THE FIRST PART of this book we explored Jesus’s teachings as a comprehensive spiritual path. In this second part we will be shifting our focus to consider Jesus’s life itself as a teaching. By “a teaching” I mean a model, of course; all authentic teachers walk the talk. But more than just a model, I want to consider his life as a sacrament — that is, as a spiritual force in its own right. The traditional definition of a sacrament is “an outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual grace.” But what to my mind this definition does not make sufficiently clear is that a sacrament does not merely symbolize a spiritual reality; it lives that reality into existence.

Jesus’s life, considered from this standpoint, is a sacrament: a mystery that draws us deeply into itself and, when rightly approached, conveys an actual spiritual energy empowering us to follow the path that his teachings have laid out. This sacramental life of Jesus rests on four cornerstones which are both historical events and cosmic realities: his incarnation, passion, resurrection, and ascension. Together they compose the foundation of the Christian mystical and devotional life, and to open oneself fully to the meaning of these great mysteries is to be able to read the inner roadmap of the Christian path. In the next four chapters we will be exploring each of these mysteries in turn. My hope is to move beyond the usual theological and critical-historical explanations in order to follow the living mystical thread that will allow us to appropriate each one of these mysteries as food for the journey.

Since the ground we will be traversing is also the sometimes prickly shared territory of Christian liturgy and sacramental theology, let me remind you once again of my own background here, so that you will know where I am speaking from. While I wear the collar of an Episcopal priest, most of my lived liturgical life has been within the wider stream of Benedictine monasticism, primarily Western and Roman Catholic (although the Episcopal liturgy is in most respects identical), and it is from this perspective (as well as my earlier training as a medievalist) that I will primarily be speaking when I describe the ritual celebrations that unfold these great mysteries. I am less familiar with the Orthodox traditions (except through my exposure to the  Christian inner tradition), but at ease within the Celtic and Oriental Orthodox spiritual streams, whose extraordinary insights I will draw on at appropriate moments. As Meister Eckhart once observed, “There is no being except in a mode of being,” and the Western Catholic mode of being is the stream in which I have primarily come to know what I know. With that disclaimer in place, let us see what we can discover about the first great mystery, the incarnation.

“For God So Loved the World . . . .”

I remember being struck many years ago by an insight from the contemporary mystic Bernadette Roberts that crucifixion wasn’t really the hard thing for Jesus; the hard thing was incarnation.” Crucifixion and what followed from it — his death and resurrection — were simply the pathway along which infinite consciousness could return to its natural state. What was really hard for infinite consciousness was to come into the finite world in the first place. With nothing to gain from the human adventure — nothing to prove, nothing to achieve, and a dangerously unboundaried heart that left him defenseless against the hard edges of this world — Jesus came anyway: that, claims Bernadette Roberts, was the real crucifixion! As we saw earlier, Paul grasped that same point in his beautiful hymn in Philippians 2:9-16. The first self-emptying that Jesus goes through is the self-emptying that lands him in bodily form on this planet, a human being. There is definitely something spiritually counterintuitive about this business of incarnation, and to really get what’s at stake in this mystery is for me the acid test as to whether you understand what Christianity is all about.

Unfortunately, this understanding is hard to come by: not only outside of Christianity, but inside it as well. Make no mistake, Christianity is intensely a religion of incarnation. Millions of people caught up in mass hysteria during the Christmas season can’t all be wrong! But even the sentimental excesses of the season only go to reinforce the point. There is a deeper truth at work here that stirs us in spite of ourselves. Who among us has not awakened in the wee hours of Christmas morning to catch the live broadcast of the Ceremony of Lessons and Carols from Westminster Abbey and thrilled to the sonorous reading of those immortal words from the prologue to the Gospel of John: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God . . . And the Word became flesh and dwelled among us”? There is a deep soul-truth here that both contains and redeems our frantic efforts to penetrate its meaning at a more superficial level.

If you were to imagine the great world religions like the colors of a rainbow, each one witnessing in a particular way to some essential aspect of the divine fullness, Christianity would unquestionably hold down the corner of incarnation — by which I mean the vision of God in full solidarity with the created world, fully at home within the conditions of finitude, so that form itself poses no impediment to divinity. There is another beautiful phrase in John’s gospel proclaiming: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son” (John 3:16).  At its mystical best, Christianity reverberates with the warmth of this assurance: with the conviction that creation is good, that God is for us, and that what ultimately gets worked out in the sacred mystery of Jesus’s passage through the human realm is a profound testament to love.

Who Screwed Up?

Unfortunately, Christianity as a religion has never had a sufficient metaphysical understanding of its own core truth. The message gets obscured by its primary interpretive vehicle: the theology of fall and redemption. Virtually all Christian teaching begins from the supposition that Jesus’s incarnation is brought about by the fall of Adam and happens in response to it. “As in Adam all died, so in Christ shall all be made alive” is the classic Pauline formulation of this idea (I Corinthians 15:20). The primordial parents Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit and plunged the world into chaos; Jesus came to rescue it. Thus, incarnation is framed from the start within the context of God’s response to a mistake that should never have happened in the first place. This assumption, in turn, deeply colors our understanding of the phrase, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son.” It sounds like: “God didn’t give up on us; God bailed us out.”

In a more mystical nuancing of this same basic idea, we encounter the theology of “0 felix culpa”~”O happy fault”~ to quote the first line of a traditional Gregorian Advent hymn which expresses this theology particularly clearly. Rather than blaming Adam and Eve, this line of argument claims, we ought to be grateful for them because their mistake set in motion the chain of events through which Christ would fully reveal himself to this world. Without that initial fall there would have been no need for the redemption. In the most subtle versions of this teaching (as in Karl Barth’s Christ and Adam) linear cause and effect are reversed, and we see Adam and Eve falling into this space/time continuum out of God’s “prior” decision (that is, already made in eternity) to reveal himself in human form. Rather than being the cause of the fall, Adam and Eve become the instruments of the ultimate divine self-communication. This is a much more affirmative teaching, which brings the theology of fall and redemption to its most mature expression.

But I would like to push the metaphysical envelope still further and see if we can approach the mystery of the incarnation through a conceptual framework that does not rely on fall and redemption at all but unfolds along an entirely different line of understanding. Instead of a cosmic course-correction, this other approach envisions the steady and increasingly intimate revelation of divine love along a trajectory that was there from the beginning. The best expression of this idea is actually contained in a beautiful saying from Islamic tradition (although its roots go down into perennial wisdom ground): “I was a hidden treasure, and I loved to be known, and so I created the worlds both visible and invisible.” Both the saying itself and the understanding that illumines it derive from a profound mystical intuition that our created universe is a vast mirror, or ornament (and the Greek word “cosmos” literally means “an ornament”), through which divine potentiality — beautiful, fathomless, endlessly creative — projects itself into form in order to realize fully the depths of divine love. And remember that “realize” has two meanings: “to recognize” and “to make real.” The act of loving brings hidden potential to full expression, and the more intimate and costly the self-giving, the more precious the quality of love revealed. This subtle and beautiful understanding of creation will also, as we shall see, have something very important to show us about our true work as human beings.

We are each one an incarnation of Divine Being.  Our personal incarnations were stressful and limiting, descending from the peaceful Realms of Light and landing in the dark wet terrain of busy embryonic cellular activity; from flying freely in the air of spirit to crawling on our bellies until our toddling forms learn to walk and run.  How we yearn for the freedom we knew before incarnating.  I remember very vivid dreams of flying above the ground at breakneck speed in my youthful years.  Who hasn’t had such dreams?  And I can relate to the thrill a jet pilot must enjoy flying through the air at supersonic speed.  One has to be fit and well trained to fly a jet.  Likewise our human capacities need compassionate care and vital nourishment in order to be fully fit and available in accommodating the incarnate divine beings we are.

Yet here we are, fully awake and learning how to navigate a multidimensional universe of energy-shaped-and-driven hard and complex materiality only God comprehends.  Being incarnate gods ourselves, we have been gifted the privilege of sharing in Divine Consciousness and comprehending reality that is incomprehensible to the human intellect—for the darkness cannot comprehend the Light in the same way that Light comprehends the darkness.  We incarnate to bring Light into the dark corners of Creation to bring forth a heavenly world here on Earth where we are.  This gives us great cause for celebrating, at Christmas time and throughout the year.

I celebrate you, dear reader, this Christmas, along with my own Divine incarnation—and my gift to you and myself is unconditional love and acceptance.  May the joy of Love fill you full to overflowing during this Holiday Season.  Until my next post — which will be published this coming Wednesday,

Be love.  Be loved.

Love, an Antigravity Force

“True love demands sacrifice, because true love is a transforming force and is really the birth-pangs of union on a higher plane.” –Anonymous¹

OUR HUMAN FAMILY has not been under so much pressure as it is now for some time. Listening to all the reports on the state of our planet’s shifting ecology, we are in the throes of an existential crisis—at least existence as we’ve known it in our lifetime.  Like a house of cards blown by a wind, our “civilized” world is collapsing around us, as though clearing the space for something new.  Will we go down in history as yet another lost civilization, or will we ascend to a higher level of consciousness and create a more balanced and sustainable world?  A heaven on earth?

The answer to that question lies largely in the polarity of our orientation, and with what tonal frequency we resonate at a spiritual level in our hearts.  What vibrational tone moves us, and in what direction?  What do we most value and love?  Because we will dance to the music that resonates in our hearts and go in the direction of that which we love, that with which we desire union.  What is it that my soul longs to know oneness with?

The simple answer to such a longing is to be found in the directive of the Master Jesus, what has become well known as The Two Great Commandment:  “Thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all of thy heart, and with all of thy mind, and with all of thy strength.” With all of one’s heart, mind and body.  Nothing held back.  “And the second is like unto the first: thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.”  In these two directives, as I would call them, lie the sacred path of ascension.

ATTUNEMENT WITH LOVE

We are all blessed by our friendships.  I’ve been blessed and privileged to share a brief but potent time of Attunement every morning with a dear friend and colleague long distance.  We’ve known each other for over twenty years now and I’ve come to love him as a brother . . . and I can say as myself because he exemplifies to me qualities that I know are true of my own inner Self, primarily unconditional love and acceptance of me just the way I am . . . which has inspired me to love and accept myself, and others, unconditionally.  This has been my experience over the years with all my friends and attunement colleagues.  So much love and appreciation has been expressed by so many.

The current of love that flows between my friend and myself seems to have grown more intense and substantial over the years.  This past year the Attunement Current has been increasingly more intense and has become a powerfully magnetic force that has had an uplifting impact on my physical body, as though every cell is being drawn up into an ascending current of magnetic energy.

While the Attunement Current in itself is a powerful healing force — healing in the literal sense of mending back together that which has been fragmented and separated from the whole — there are powerful cosmic forces on the move “out there” which are having enormous impact on us and on all life forms on the planet.  While we call this force the Attunement Current, it is the magnetic current of love that is increasing in its manifestation through human hearts the world over, interestingly more so since this viral pandemic has disrupted “business as usual” in human affairs.

It’s as though a Great Pause has been ordered in the Music of the Spheres here on Earth by the Great Conductor as a new score in the symphony of Life awaits the downward beat of the Conductor’s Baton, and the orchestral musicians are poised in eager readiness to play the first notes in their score together with one magnificent and harmonic transforming sound.  One can hear the cacophony of instruments tuning as the pure sound of the oboe plays the tonal A 440.  We can even hear an Overture  pre-sounding in the heaven of consciousness.  The Song Celestial is about to be played and sung on Earth.  It’s time to finetune our instruments of body, mind and heart with the Tone of Love.

When I see and hear musicians playing their instruments and singing in concerts, I see angels of sound come down out of the Realms of Light to bring heavenly music to Mankind and to this beautiful planet.  Last night we attended a Christmas Concert presented by the Masterworks Chorale I sang with for several years, now back from a long pause due to this pandemic.  It was so good to hear these angels singing their sweet and glorious songs, especially the children’s choir and the brass ensemble.  Christmas music  is my favorite tradition each year.   God bless all musicians, who have come together in choirs and orchestras the world around, finding one another and regrouping to offer their musical gifts to the world, sorely in need of such upliftment at this time of trial and tribulation.

I’m thinking of our neighbors up in the Midwest who are in anguish in the wake of devastating multiple tornado strikes that tore through several states last night from Arkansas through Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri and Tennessee, leaving death and unprecedented destruction in its 250 mile path, and so many homeless in cold winter nights.  They will be having a different Christmas this year as they help one another recover and rebuild, along with hundreds who have come from other areas to lend a hand.  There is so much goodwill in human hearts.  People come together in hard times.  We are so blessed to live in such a world of generous and caring friends and neighbors.  God bless us all, as Tiny Tim exclaimed in that wonderful Christmas Story.  Let us gather in Rumi’s field of no right doing or wrong doing and offer a prayer for those whose worlds have been so suddenly upended.

I will leave you with this timely video that was shared on Facebook this week by a friend.

A GATHERING OF THE TRIBE / POWERUL

Here we are.  Let the New World be born through all of us together.  Everything we do matters.  Until my next post,

I received a comment from a reader by the name of Jonathan to an earlier post which, apparently, piqued his interest, or a least his curiosity.  I will share his comment first and follow it by the article itself, which is about sound as an antigravity force.  Here’s Jonathan’s comment:

“It would be quite interesting to read the comments. Unfortunately I couldn’t find the way to do so.
Sincerely,
Possible future contributor”

Surprisingly, there were no comments on the post, as it has a most intriguing title: “Pyramid Power” Page 3: Acoustic Levitation.  I would love and welcome a contribution from you, Jonathan . . . and thanks for bringing this 2012 post forward. I will use it as a springboard into a consideration of the dynamics of ascension.  The story is every bit true and most fascinating. I promise you it will astound you.

Here’s the post:  https://healingtones.org/2012/09/10/pyramid-power-part-3-acoustical-levitation/

The dynamics of the ascending process by which our physical bodies are welcome to ascend to a higher level of being are exactly the same as the dynamics of acoustic levitation: the elevation and intensification of vibratory frequency.  Only the source of the vibrations is Spirit rather then sound.  I will develop this topic in my next post.  I think you will enjoy and benefit greatly by this insightful and promising consideration.  Until then,

Blessings of Light and Love during the Joyful Holiday Season.

Our Beautiful Minds

THE MIND IS A BEAUTIFUL THING, although more an energy field than a “thing.”  My mind has served me well for some eighty years — although at times not so well and getting me in over my head.  Without it I would be like a ship without a rudder going about aimlessly and mindlessly, not being able to discern truth from falsehood, reality from illusion.

The brain is also a beautiful and amazing organ, available to our minds for processing and expressing our thoughts and communications.  Although not the usual and common trend of thought, some believe that there is only One Universal Mind, which we share with everyone else in the one body of mankind.  I subscribe to this belief myself.  If this is so, then Mind does not depend on our brains to act in our lives and allow the Light of Love to shine through a person.  I saw this demonstrated clearly in a recent visit to a care center.

Last week my wife Bonnie and I visited a close friend who lives in a care center because she has lost the use of her mental capacity to remember and think clearly. The condition is called dementia and, as with Alzheimers, is caused by a deterioration of certain sections of the brain.  Bonnie knows more about this field than I do, having worked in it for years as a professional counselor, so I defer to her for accurate terminology.  It’s very sad to observe the progression of dementia, especially when it occurs to someone we love, like a family member or close friend.  However, our friend has not lost her ability to smile and to communicate with others, albeit in a limited manner.

We visit our friend frequently and it is often, for me, both a saddening and pensive hour.  On this occasion, while Bonnie was helping her with the hot fudge Sundae she had brought for her, a relatively young man and resident in the distance caught my eye.  His mental condition seemed to involve some kind of hallucinations, as his eyes would roll up toward his forehead, and, as though seeing some threatening image, he would silently mouth strong words of seeming rebuke and, with his hands, push whatever it was he was seeing away from himself.  He would do this quite frequently and, no doubt, throughout his waking hours.  However, when someone interacted with him, he was able to smile and respond with words in a normal fashion.  In other words, there was light coming through him even though his brain is not well.

As I watched him go through these contortions, I became more and more appreciative of our brains and our mental capacities.  Like anything of value and importance, often we don’t consciously appreciate it until it breaks down or is gone altogether, like our computers and cellphones, for instance.  We didn’t always have these modern conveniences, and now that we do have them in our lives we can hardly do without them. When they fail to function correctly, or the Internet goes down, how our lives are suddenly put on hold it seems until they are restored to our use again.  I truly appreciate my laptop and my cellphone . . . but let me remember this when they malfunction. I find that this takes conscious effort and mindful presence.

I felt sad for this young man at the care center . . . and he’s not the only one there in such a mentally compromised state.  Then I looked around at all the personnel running around caring for these handicapped souls and I marveled at their patience and consideration.  They are truly saints, every one, to be able to even function in the midst of such a concentration of needy and dysfunctional humanity.

At some point, as if an alarm had gone off in their heads, all the “smokers” started lining up at the door to go out for their scheduled smoke out on the veranda, followed by a personnel member carrying a container filled with packs of various brands of cigarettes.  In a way, it was a sobering sight to observe.  This is their life.  This is something they look forward to every day, their smoke breaks.

As I looked on, contemplating this impaired young man, I thought of the angel incarnate, the spark of divine light, the spirit of God somewhat entrapped inside this human being who seemed more human than being in his experience and expression of life.  What a blessing, I thought, is the death of the outer form that releases the spirit from its prison, a prison that was created to be a prism for the colorful expression of life.  The lives of these inflicted ones have seemingly been transformed into opportunities for others to serve with patience and respect, love and in some cases pure joy and happiness.  This is an aspect of the community of Man, I thought, which seems to work in harmony when everyone plays their parts and functions from the core of their being where love abides and awaits expression through hearts, minds and bodies.

I am reminded of a story I read some years back about a lawyer and a beggar, who sat just outside his door. The lawyer would come out of his office at the end of each day and put his daily tithe into the beggar’s extended cup. The main character in the book, who, much like Enoch, was taken up on a tour of heaven, when showed this scene down on earth, expressed sadness over it.  The guide immediately enlightened her as to the full story and assured her that the two men had planned this scenario of their earthly journeys ahead of time and were simply living out their pre-planed incarnations, exemplifying for others the way of love and generosity.

One never knows the whole story of a person’s life.  We do know that every life has a purpose, often unknown to the one living it.  Judgement, of others and of self, is always a rash action on the part of the human mind.

Our minds, as part of the One Mind, are beautiful and precious capacities, and they have their limitations, which we discover when they pull away from the One Mind and become self-active and exhausted trying to control everything around them. They depend on a healthy brain, which serves much like a computer.  Like any and all body parts, our brains need nourishment and rest from their labors. Keeping them focused in the task at hand in each moment helps prevent them from becoming stretched thin and snapping.

Having worked with nutritional therapy for years in treating clients, I think of the possibilities were I allowed to work with the mentally ill in this care center with all of the wonderful therapeutic food supplements we have at our disposal today. Perhaps that day will come when Medicine begins to embrace clinical nutrition and functional medicine — which many physicians are doing on their own initiative.

An interesting thing we’ve found is as long as we stay in the moment, we usually have an enjoyable conversation with our friend, even humorous at times.  When she smiles her light shines brightly.  As long as we avoid bringing up past events or futuristic plans and upcoming occasions like birthdays or holidays, conversations move right along.  Though she can’t think clearly about events, she does seem to enjoy listening to the stories.  A thinned mind just doesn’t have enough substance to think back or ahead. You’ve got to stay in the moment where interchange flows with ease and the mind can relax and just be still.  Hmmm . . . a rather pensive note to end on.

I welcome any thoughts you may have and wish to share in the comment section or by email. I am most thankful to you and to all of my blog followers, and hope you have a very happy Thanksgiving and Holiday Season. Until my next post,

Be love.  Be loved.

A few years back my good friend Chris Foster posted the most beautiful, candid and uplifting personal account of how he handled fear in the anticipation of a medical exam for a health issue.  His situation is as relevant today as it was back then, perhaps even more so with this global pandemic.  It is also pertinent to our crossing yet another threshold into a new year just weeks away.  I think you will find a way forward through these fear-laden times.  But I’ll let him tell his story.

The Happy Seeker

By blogger Chris Foster

Fear is on the rise in America, or so it seems. That’s what the newspapers and TV say. Perhaps it’s on the rise everywhere. Fear has a way of generating more fear—just as love has a way of generating more love.

Personally, I’ve known a fair bit of fear in my life. My standard response, when fear came up in me, was to do my best to ignore it, or suppress it.

It never really worked, mind you. The more I tried, consciously or unconsciously, to repress my fear, the more firmly entrenched it became, and the more it continued to haunt me. Fear is good at that. It likes haunting people.

But here’s the good news I want to share with you as we pass the threshold into a New Year and contemplate with joy and perhaps a bit of foreboding the possibilities that 2016 [and 2022] may hold in store.

Fear is not the scary, unconquerable monster we may have thought it to be. Believe it or not, fear can be our ally, and teacher.

A couple of months or so ago, I was due for my annual CT scan. I’m a two-year cancer survivor, and Kaiser likes to keep a close eye on me to make sure that there is no recurrence of this feared illness.

As the date of my appointment drew closer, I wasn’t entirely surprised when feelings of anxiety began to arise in me.

What was the result going to be? Would everything check out okay? Or would something suspicious show up?

Then I had an idea. A life-saving idea. An idea that I believe is being beamed from Heaven to all of us in these days.

Instead of trying to ignore my fear, or suppress it, as I have done so often in the past─how about acknowledging it, and feeling it, and then simply letting the fear be?

If a thunderstorm erupts in my neighborhood—as it does at times here in Colorado—know there is no need to get in a battle with the storm. It would be kind of futile anyway.

Just as a storm has a beginning, so too it has an end.

So instead of fighting the anxiety that rose up in me from time to time when I thought about my coming test, I simply let the fear be. I realized it’s not so different really to a Colorado thunderstorm.

Putting it another way, I let the fear simply pass through me, and as it did pass through me, a miracle occurred. I experienced the truth of my own essence, my own presence, more strongly than ever before in my life. It was a transforming moment, and it was wonderful.

I realized that fear comes and goes, but the truth of who I am, and who we all are, is ageless. It does not change. It was never born. It will never die. It is always present. It doesn’t come and go.

In a strange kind of way, what I had thought of as “fear” became an ally that helped me become more conscious of the inherent goodness and wonder of creation.

So here’s the message I would share with you as 2016 unfolds—face fear and be free.

I wish you a wonderful and blessed New Year. Any thoughts on the above will be most welcome. Also, may I remind you that my new book, The Upside of Cancer, is on sale now at Amazon. It offers a wonderful dose of courage and hope to anyone facing a difficult challenge in their life.

Winston Churchill once said “Fear is a reaction.  Courage is a decision.”  This has proven out to be true in my own experience in facing the decision to take the Covid-19 “booster shot” or not.  I chose not to take it, and that decision dispelled any and all fear of being infected by this dreadful micro-organism going around.  I courageously decided that my body’s immune alliance is sufficiently empowered by my radiant attitude — and conscientious care — to protect it from being infected, as well as in handling infection effectively should it occur.  That said, supporting my body’s immunity has been my practice over the years.

When we do the right things for our bodies, they come through for us in thick and thin.  I hope that you’ve found faith and courage in Chris’s story to help you make appropriate decisions about your health and life that are right for you.  Take courage as you simply let fear move on through your heart and out.  When it’s gone, you remain intact.  The immortal and eternal You cannot be infected by this or any other tiny microscopic organism.  Empower your body by letting it know your confidence and trust in Life and in its strength.   Until my next post,

Be love. Be loved.

Our Unified Creating Fields

THERE IS A UNFIED CREATING FIELD enveloping our physical bodies.  It’s a large part of who and what we are. In fact, this field IS who we are, and it’s at our command. Whether knowingly or unknowingly, we create our worlds and our physical forms by every spirit-imbued thought, word, intention and emotion we entertain and utter and every enactment we perform within our creating field.

At the center of our creating field resides the creation of our physical form.  The field itself is a holographic microcosmic identical clone of a macrocosmic Holographic Universe, which is enveloped in a Unified Field itself, at the center of which resides the Creating Universe, in which all is One.  Creation comes and goes via this Unified Creating Field.

As Rumi so poetically describes it, there is no right or wrong doings in this field.  It’s all perfect, even as the pre-forms of creation continually evolve as the frequencies of Light, the artistic medium of the Creator, step down into lower frequencies to ultimately give visible birth to forms on Mother Nature’s colorful canvas.  Every process and phase of evolution of form is perfect.

All is one in the One whose Creating Field it is.  Even the body of Humanity, in which there exists so much divisiveness and conflict, is one with the All and contained within the Univied Creating Field, in which it is constantly being acted upon by Creative Forces in the Field.

Another word for this Field is the Heaven, the “Kingdom of Heaven” as the Master Jesus referred to it, which he said is both within us and all around us — a heaven that was the first creation in Genesis: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.  The earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep.  And God said: Let there be Light.”  Out of light was created the entire universe, the forms of which materialize and dematerialize, along with the heaven that gave them birth.  There is a heaven for every level of form.  Old heavens and old earths pass away even as new heavens and new earths replace them.  All comes out of and returns to the One.

Our old earth and world are in the process of passing away even as a New Heaven and a New Earth are in the process of coming forth out of the Unified Field of Divine Creation.  “Behold I create a new heaven and a new Earth, for the old heaven and old earth are passed away.”

In the old heaven are “the former things,” the memory patterns of past events, both creative and destructive, “ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing” that have maintained the dis-eased and corrupt human state, along with whatever healthy and wholesome state there is and has been.  That world is, as Rumi put it so succinctly, “too full to talk about.”  And that is my own experience when I let go of it all and lie down in Rumi’s quiet field of simply being, where the meditations of my heart and the thoughts of my mind are worthy of being heard and listened to, and where judgement is not.

Come with me now as I reflect on what I have learned when I was active in the old world as a practitioner and healer of human ills and anguish.  There is something to learn there that can increase our understanding of the chaos currently manifesting in a world in transition from old to new.

THE VIBRATIONAL ORIGIN OF DISEASE AND HEALTH

While I was attending Dr. Milton T. Morter’s seminars and training classes in Bio-Energetic Synchronization Technique (BEST), I heard him expound in vibratory-field language his view, based on his research and practical explorations, how “hereditary diseases” land in our physical bodies.  The gist of it is that patterns of so-called “hereditary diseases,” such as cancer, coronary heart disease and diabetes, do not always arise from out of our genetics, but rather descend from our personal energy fields cluttered with disease patterns from out of the past.  Allow me to elucidate.

According to this scenario, we bring a lot of vibrational energetic baggage with us when we incarnate that may determine our behavior and experience of health and dis-ease.  It’s all present in our personal energy fields, with which we interact on a momentary basis.  Disease patterns that were shaped by strong emotions, such as resentment, anger, fear, anxiety and grief — that were causal in relationship to various disease patterns in prior personal and ancestral incarnations — can be brought down into the physical body from the field on the basis of the principle of resonance.  If one who has inherited such a field package holds onto a strong and unresolved emotional pattern for a long period of time, for instance, a disease pattern in the field shaped by such emotional dissonance may bring the disease associated with it down into one’s physical body.  In other words, “hereditary diseases” such as cancer and diabetes, are not necessarily genetically caused, but may descend from out of one’s personal field — as well as the collective unified field, as I will develop shortly.

I thought that was pretty ingenious. I still do. The question might then be posed, can the field be cleared of all such dissonant patterns?  I believe this is what energy healers, such as Dr. Morter and the Morter Health System, and light workers and energy healers around the globe today, are about in their attunement work and service.  In fact, I’m sure of it . . . and the vibration of Love is the power that does the clearing. “The Father within, he doeth the works,” as the Great Physician himself acknowledged and taught when he walked on earth as a healer of the sick, the blind, and the lame.

MY “CENTURION” EXPERIENCE WITH ATTUNEMENT

I remember very vividly an experience I had back in my early years of clinical practice of clearing a disease pattern in the field around a young boy’s kidneys. His great-grandfather had come to me with an absolute faith that I could help his great-grandson, who was in a hospital miles away from my office.  The child was on dialysis and scheduled for a kidney transplant from his mom the next day. The dissonant and erratic pattern was like a balloon of hot air.  I could feel it and caress it, and within less than a minute, after confirming my upward connection with the Father within the Unified Field, and placing my hands over the great-grandfather’s kidney area, this ball of dissonant energy began to dissipate like a deflating balloon. I knew in an instant that the elderly gentleman and I had done all that we could, and that is exactly what turned out to be the case.  The child’s kidneys began to function again during that night.  He was taken off dialysis and the transplant schedule the same day. The attending surgeon said it was a miracle, as he had no other explanation for the sudden change.  I met the little boy and his mom a few weeks later, and he was a bubbling ball of playful energy.  Needless to say, this “Centurion” experience was a huge teaching for me of the power of attunement and agreement, even at a distance.

I love attunement.  It is a most magical way of clearing the field around the physical body.  Love has to be allowed to flow and radiate within and through the field.  This remote healing experience taught me that faith on the part of both practitioner and recipient, or surrogate as in this case, is essential to the spontaneous clearing of the field and healing of the dis-eased physical form.  And I think that such faith is degree-sensitive.  The greater is one’s faith and belief, the quicker the clearing and healing.

THE COLLECTIVE UNIFIED CREATING FIELD

Could this field-dynamic also be at work on a collective level, such as in the Body of Mankind as a unified whole having a shared mass consciousness and a collective unified creating field?  I believe it is.  This pandemic, for instance, may well have its vibrational origin and cause in the collective unified field where such patterns as the Great Influenza Pandemic of 1918 — which ironically has come up in news items and conversations comparing this pandemic to that one — are implanted.  No doubt strong patterns of fear and anxiety were and are associated with that pattern, as are prevalent in this one.  The oxidative stress of the G5 factor, which I address in my Healthlight Newsletter at LiftingTones.com, may well be creating the conditions in which this dynamic works even quicker.

A theory, much like a vision planted in my brain, to borrow a line from Simon and Garfunkel’s “Sound of Silence,” has developed in my mind about this so-called pandemic — “and still remains within the sound of silence,” as only a brave few have dared break their silence over this deceptive manipulation of the masses, and many more are coming forward daily.  First, that it is orchestrated, and second that in order to create a mass panic that could manifest a pandemic, all that one, or ones, need do is announce the outbreak of a coronavirus in Wuhan, China — at the beginning of the “normal” yearly flu season — that has spread and threatens to become a pandemic, and fear for one’s life grips the hearts of the masses — a fear that is remnant of and resonant with the fear aroused in the populace in 1918 — and down descends the influenza pattern into the body of humanity.  Truly a wetiko, a mind-virus, an invisible pattern in the field manifesting in the physical bodies of people the world over.  Little wonder not one single scientific lab has been able to isolate this “virus” and actually capture a picture of it in their electron microscopes.  Because it’s invisible.  It’s not a thing.  It’s a vibrational pattern in the unified field creating deadly influenza symptoms and death in the masses, just like the influenza of 1918 — and manifesting in the fearful and thus immune compromised, and in the elderly who are already dying from underlying morbidities, such as heart disease and diabetes — all of which are being reported as dying “from” Covid-19 rather than “with” Covid-19, a blatant case of data enhancement and downright lying.

LOVE IS THE ONLY WAY FORWARD

My friends, we are shadow boxing, ghost chasing and there truly is no vaccine that medicine can concoct to immunize the people from it.  Only one thing can dissolve the pattern of fear in the field, this mind-virus, and that’s love. Perfect love casts out fear.  My friend Will Wilkinson in Hawaii is on the right track with his “Love-Casting Club.” Casting love into the Unified Creating Field of the Body of Humanity will dissolve the fear we’ve inherited from our fathers and forefathers back to the fifth generation.  Dissolve the pattern of fear and this shadowy manifestation of disease will vanish like the mist before the rising sun.  If you think you would like to join Will in Love Casting, let him know by email.  His email address is:  noonclubwill@gmail.com.

CHOOSE WHICH FIELD YOU WILL LIVE AND CREATE IN

We each individually and all together as a body of Humanity have a choice to make as to what field, what heaven, we’re going to move forward in and work out of in creating our world: the old heaven polluted with fear, hatred, impatience, greed and corruption, and other patterns of past failures and destruction, in an old earth that’s beyond salvaging, all of which is passing away — or the New Heaven filled with the spirits of love, compassion, patience, creativity, kindness and generosity that is available to us now.  We only have our little heaven, our unified creating field, to work out of in creating our world and our lives.  The good news is that our personal and collective creating fields are contained within the Unified Field and are fed and nourished by it. This is God’s Heaven where all is well.  There are no disease patterns in it, no viruses or pandemic patterns either.  So we have the Creator of Heaven and Earth with us in all that we undertake to create.  It is in the old heaven where things are not so well.  It needs to be left behind and allowed to pass away to make room for the New Heaven out of which a New Earth is being born.  “Behold, I make all things new!” That is my word in this new day.  Let’s make it our collective word.

The Unified Field is at our command because it’s who and what we are.  Let us cast our bread, our prayer, upon these waters, for what we wish to create in our world and in our lives, and give thanks that it is already done according to our word; then be prepared to receive our creation with gratitude and praise to the One. This Law works.  Let’s let it work with our participation and the full empowerment of Love for the Truth of Life.  This is the wholistic path to health and happiness.  Until my next post, here’s to your joy and success creating your health and your world anew.

“If you are going through hell, keep going.” Winston Churchill

I RECEIVED a few thought-full commentaries on my last post.  This first one came from “across the pond” in the UK and was penned by a friend and long-time follower, Peter Watson.

Will (Wilkinson) is quite right, at least partly. Wetiko, a ‘mind-virus’  that Will has designated as the devil, is now rampant throughout civilization, and not just a white man’s affliction any longer, as it was before it also spread — like fire-water — to indigenous peoples too.

However, to leave wetiko as only a virus, it could be imagined as just something else to blame for the human problem; something to cure, or attune.  Beware the snare-of-the-fowler, the devil, the self-active human mind, for it is the subtlest beast in the field, and Will’s word substitution is a prime example of translating and using words to dilute truth (as if it could), to divert the spotlight from itself — a “speak or spin” common to clever politicians.

Would Jesus have addressed a virus trying to tempt him in the desert?  Would he have had a virus? Would a virus have been able to communicate at a mind level?  Or, rather, was Jesus addressing the dis-eased mind of mankind as he brought it to focus within himself to be dealt with?

Over the millennia the devil has operated under many guises, and behind and in front of many disguises, prominent among them are leadership, patriotism, and enemy.  Perhaps, though, the most insidious is education, at least education designed to further civilization for self-centered purposes.

How that works on the human mind is key to the human problem, as we shall see. Starting from the premise that there is nothing intrinsically wrong with the design and purpose of the human mind, we’re faced by the fact of what mankind has done with its mind, by what good men have trained their minds to do, which is, for the most part, collect and store data—enrich the mind with knowledge—explore history to validate and correlate the facts, and develop sciences to expand domination beyond the capabilities of their human capacities. We have megaliths and dolmens all over the place attesting to the legacy of demonstrating power, or, as C. S. Lewis called it, “that hideous strength.”

Now, if there’s nothing inherently wrong with the design and purpose of the human mind, which is a capacity-of-consciousness, ordained to process and apply creative thought, we’re faced with the fact that the content-of-consciousness, used to develop civilizations, has not much been concerned to consider the way-of-Life, let alone allowing Life to call the shots, as it has been and is (concerned) to sustain and magnify self-centered intentions, albeit imagined to be for the best, but clearly without the vision of wisdom.

My poet friend Don Hynes up in Oregon offered these insightful thoughts:

I have a few thoughts concerning the use of wetiko as a substitute for the “devil” as Martin used the term. I’ve met Paul Levy who popularized this term in western psychology, taken from the Native American use as Will notes, and am familiar with Levy’s writings and blog posts. I believe wetiko is a most accurate term for the mass psychosis present in western civilization at this time, but as we might agree has been around for quite a while, and in my judgement would make a ready substitute for what Martin often termed “human nature.”

However, by the “devil,” Martin, or perhaps I should say I, would indicate an incarnate presence, not a widespread illness as it were. By impersonalizing the “devil” I think the important link of evil with human embodiment is missed. Just as Martin surely emphasized the human form of divine or spiritual government, so I believe he would agree there is a similar form in the focus of anti-spirit or the anti-Christ to use John’s term from 1 John 4:3 in the NT.

I won’t belabor this but offer it as my thoughts concerning Martin’s use of this specific term. I believe the anti-Christ is present in a number of humans who wield the powers of darkness and desolation, the “spiritual wickedness in high places” referred to by the apostle Paul, but the ultimate presence may be with us as well.

Geoff Tish sent these succinct words of wisdom from “down under” in New Zealand:
Doing nothing whilst achieving everything, is the master art to practice now. Love is the way of the Master.

“The self-active mind clings to that which is like unto itself, but it is afraid of that to which it clings.”

(Uranda, Third Sacred School, Vol 12, Ch 36)

PERFECT LOVE CASTS OUT FEAR

IT HAS BEEN SAID that perfect love — which is unconditional — casts out fear.  This mass paranoia and “psychosis” that has infected the world is nothing more than a mind-virus.  When a person goes into a fight-flight-or-freeze stress mode, the reptilian brain takes over in a survival mode blocking off all access to critical thinking with logic and reason, love and compassion, functions of the frontal lobe and the cerebrum.  All true thinking comes to a halt, along with the body’s immune system.  How, then, can one have “perfect love” when one’s only concern is to survive a global pandemic?  A large part of the answer lies in facing what it is that one fears and embracing it.  The larger part lies in the direction and object of our love.

Death is not something to fear but something to welcome as a passage to a higher level of life and creativity, a release from the prison of a physical form that offers very limited range of movement, for one thing, and an insecure and fragile abode for another.  From the moment it is born into the material world the human form begins to die and return to the humus from which it arose.  It’s the arduous task of our healthcare system to stave off the inevitable.  To facilitate this process, Life has provided scavengers to help break down and eliminate the metabolic waste of organic processes.  They’re called “viruses.”

Yes, viruses are organisms we cannot do without.  We wouldn’t make it very far past the crib without them.  They get rid of toxic waste, the breeding ground for pathogens and disease.  In my practice I noticed a repeating pattern that demonstrated this function of viruses in patients that tested positive for a virus after having gotten over a bacterial infection.  The metabolic waste from infection fighting needed cleaning up.  I’ve seen videos showing perfectly healthy cells morph into viruses where scavenging of toxic waste was needed.  This Coronavirus would not be scavenging around in our bodies unless there was toxic waste to scavenge.  With diseases and death, the condition of the host is always the primary consideration in determining the cause.

On the other side of this paradoxical existence, without a means of returning our human flesh to dust, we might live longer than we are want to in these limiting forms.  That would be a travesty for sure.  We would never be released from the material realm and return to the realms of light.  In the realms of light, there are no viruses.  There’s no need for them, nor for pathogens — nor for death.

Should we dare to look deeper into this “rabbit hole” we may even discover that we don’t really belong here in this plane of temporary existence.  This so-called “existential crisis” with which our planet is presenting us may be trying to tell us we don’t belong here at the level of the animal kingdom — where we behave like beasts at times — and that it’s time to let go of this world we’ve created and be about the business of creating a New World, a world that accommodates spiritual beings incarnate in capacities of light substance that do not break down, get sick and die.  What’s there to fear in this scenario?

Oh that we could just let go and embrace a new way of living in this magical universe!  Death, then, would surely lose its sting.  Wetiko, this paralyzing mind virus, would be dissipated for the construct of thought it is that has no reality to it whatsoever.  There’s really nothing to be afraid of and everything to look forward to in this right of passage we call death.

As for a “devil” entity in the world, an embodied anti-Christ as my poet friend describes “the mass psychosis present in western civilization at this time,” perhaps such a devil is in the details, as we say.  And there are so many details in our lives calling for our attention; lots of peripheral fallout from this pandemic, for instance.  I read in the Washington Post that some 140,000 children under age 18 have lost parents or caregivers between March 2020 and June 2021—just one of many crises facing people the world over.  These can be seen a distractions from what’s going on above and behind the surface play of events.  I’m not being cold and uncaring here.  On the contrary, I’m offering a higher view and perspective above our circumstances.

If we human beings are being asked to let go of this corrupt world, then let us do so graciously and with a attitude of gratitude.  Let us awaken fully to our purpose for incarnating at this moment in time, this historical moment when an old world is passing away needing our blessing, while a new world and New Earth are being born needing our welcome and stewardship.  The second answer to my question “How, then, can one have ‘perfect love’ when one’s only concern is to survive a global pandemic?” lies in what or who is the object of my love response.

There is no more worthy object of our love than our Creator.  Sometimes in our anguish and grief we look to God with an attitude of blame. “How could God allow this to happen?!” Job’s attitude is exemplary: “Though he slay me yet will I trust him.”  In this biblical story, Job lost everything and was himself inflicted with boils.  His three friends tried to comfort him by encouraging him to blame God for his troubles.  Instead, he blessed God and praised him for his wonderous works.  The result was that everything he lost was returned to him sevenfold.

If you need some encouraging words of comfort, you may find solace in Sharon Hart’s recent post on Facebook:

“To all my friends out there who know what’s really going on… To all who see through conspiracies and are intuitive… Yes, sometimes it’s a curse and not always a blessing to be awake. Awakening is the most liberating, alienating, excruciating, empowering, lonely, confusing, freeing, frightening, expansive journey.

If you find yourself struggling as you try to process all this insanity, you are not alone. No one talks about the darkness that accompanies awakening, or the GRIEF. Not only grieving the life and illusions you once had but the realization that almost everything you thought you once knew, is a LIE. The beliefs you’ve held, people you were taught to trust, principles you were taught- ALL LIES.

Shattering illusions is RARELY an enjoyable experience. There is a considerable amount of discomfort that comes with growth and the grieving process doesn’t stop there.  With these newfound realizations, you then find yourself grieving all over again.  Grieving the loss of many relationships with people who just don’t and won’t “get it.”

Feeling alone; being ridiculed and shamed, not only by the masses but for many of you, your very own family and friends too. Feeling like you no longer have much in common with the people you are surrounded by. Struggling with carrying on bullshit, shallow conversations that lack substance with those who are still fast asleep.  Even feeling disconnected from your entire support system because they can’t see what you see. Some even grieve the loss of their ignorance — because “ignorance is bliss” and reality is harsh.

Awakening can be a lonely road and you will often find yourself journeying alone.  There is no way to sugarcoat it – Awakening to the realities of this world is brutal. It will have you running through the entire gamut of human emotions.  You have to master the art of diving down the darkest of rabbit holes only to come out and still function in daily life, and that’s a skill people don’t talk about enough.

Some of you are struggling with feeling disconnected from family and friends, it’s as though they exist in another world.  Please know you are not alone, and not only are you not alone, you have an entire tribe standing with you. We may be separated by miles, but we are deeply connected; in purpose and in spirit”. (Author unknown)
Sharon wrote in response to this:
“When I read this I responded – Exactly, but it’s worth it because we will be creating the New Earth – and much sooner than you think.”

This is a time for a reset of our priorities.  We are blessed to have one another to love and care for and share life with. We are blessed by our Creator with a consciousness to know ourselves and each other; above all to know our Creator and share in the creation of our world. To serve God is a privilege not to be taken lightly or begrudgingly, but with a glad heart and an attitude of praise and thanksgiving. Though he slay me, yet will I love and trust him . . . the devil be damned.

I welcome your thoughts on the subject, which you can share with others by posting them in the comment section.  Until my next post,

Be love. Be loved.

A COLLEAGUE and long time friend, Will Wilkinson, sent me a presentation by Martin Cecil, a spiritual mentor to many, that struck me as being quite relevant to what’s afoot in the world today.  With Will’s agreement, I am publishing it here on my blog.  Pay particular attention to Will’s word substitutions, which he explains in his preface.  The subheadings in Martin’s presentation are mine.

WILL: Martin Cecil, leader of the Emissaries – a spiritual community I habituated for 21 years – spoke the following words extemporaneously in 1980 during a summer session I attended in Colorado. To make his insights more widely accessible, I’ve substituted for the Christian terms, specifically, God for Love, priesthood for spiritual government. Martin used the term “devil” often. I changed this to “wetiko,” a Cree term for “mind virus,” a malady affecting white men (I’d say affecting everyone). I renamed the piece; the original title was Worldwide Machinations. Today, forty years later, this message seems remarkably relevant.

[Note: This is rather lengthy. You may want to print it out for reading later.  Also, for a direct connection with Will Wilkinson, and to join in his “Love Casting” event, go to his website at http://www.noonclub.org.)

THE GOVERNMENT OF LOVE

   Martin Cecil

MARTIN: Consistently we concern ourselves with what is necessary to uplift—uplift toward a true point of centering. We ourselves have recognized this requirement in our own experience. There is always something higher than we ourselves are. The orientation should be upward if there is to be provided what is necessary from the standpoint of spiritual government. We make use of all our circumstances to extend the spiritual government.

We ourselves have upward orientation. We are very much aware that this is what is required of the whole world: upward, right orientation. In any pattern of government there is always the necessity that those who govern should be oriented upward. Of those in spiritual government it has been said that they rightly represent Life to the people and the people to Life. To do this those individual spiritual governors must be oriented upward.

When this country in which we now are was first initiated this requirement of orientation upward was in the consciousness of those concerned. “One nation under God.” Of course what that might mean may not have been too clearly understood, but at least there was this recognition that there was something higher—if there was to be anything of value in the nation which was forming, it would have to be oriented in that direction. Clearly this was the basic foundation of the country as it began to put in an appearance.

One might say that it had been the basic foundation for almost any nation that began to put in an appearance. Monarchies, for instance, were established on the basis of the representation of deity. The British monarchy is based in this idea—in a sense it’s become a figurehead, so that it isn’t real, and yet in another sense it is real because there is a sense not only of duty but of necessity, to play a role that is fitting in that position. That’s a very controlled situation, isn’t it? There is a role to be played upon which a great many people are depending. It’s important to many people that there should be a representation of something that is true to their highest vision. So there is value to the British monarchy on this basis. The Queen is also the head of the church. The divine right of kings was one of the factors in times past because the king was supposed to represent God. Well that’s right. He didn’t do it perhaps, but that’s the proper role he should have been playing. Seeing that there’s not all that much power exercised by monarchy these days, in a direct sense, then people are more comfortable with it actually. They feel the need of something higher, other than what they themselves have elected—most people have little confidence in that—they have little confidence in themselves. It is good to have someone in whom one may have a certain amount of confidence.

LUST FOR POWER

In this country there was a recognition of the need for the point of focus in deity; but that was rather a vague thing that was to be known individually speaking, because church and state were separate. And if the population ceased to be concerned with letting God (Love) be supreme in their own living, well the nation would disintegrate, because this was the basis upon which it had been initiated. For any government, in any nation, there always is the requirement of something higher. It is because of this that those who are interested in power—there always has been a lust for power in human beings, which comes to special focus obviously in some people; we have seen it exemplified in someone like Hitler, and there have been many such aspiring persons seeking to be supreme in the world; so there are those who have this particular lust for power. This may be interpreted in different ways by different people, according to the level from which you view the situation.

There is a presidential election coming up [in 2024] and there are those, strangely enough, who aspire to that position. The idea may be on the part of the electorate, more perhaps than on the part of the individual who is elected, that someone is being put in a position of great power. But in any pattern of government, if it is to work at all, there is always something higher. We recognize that this should be Life, from the true standpoint.

Someone who is put in the White House finds himself put in a box. There is very little freedom of movement there and one has to wonder where the enormous amount of money required to be elected to such a position actually comes from, because I don’t know many people in the world who are going to give away their money for nothing in return. Where you see very large sums of money being bandied around, you may be pretty sure that somebody is going to benefit from it. It may still be the fiction that anyone can become President of the United States, but that’s really not the case anymore, at least not unless you have considerable backing from somewhere. And if you have that backing from somewhere, there is an obligation too, somehow. So there is something higher than the President of the United States, in fact.

DARK FORCE MACHINATIONS OF ANTICHRIST

Now of course there has always been the idea that there were shadowy figures in the background who were pulling the strings, accomplishing this and that on this basis; but it has been difficult, thus far, for these shadowy figures really to be located. You find someone who is in a position of apparent authority, such as the President of the United States, then you look beyond him to see why he’s there. “Oh he was elected by the people.” Well there were usually just two candidates who have the possibility of being elected, and they were both backed by somebody or other. It doesn’t really matter who’s elected, there is something higher. And whether it is clearly seen or not—it isn’t for the most part—there is always something higher wherever there is government. Here is a principle—because there is no true government on earth without Life, something higher than all those who participate in the processes of government.

We recognize the need for spiritual government and therefore acknowledge that there must be something higher than we are. If we provide the means by which the spiritual government can be extended, we only do that because there is something higher than we are. The same principle holds true in the governments of the world. There is no government that is supreme to itself. It may look that way. This is particularly so in the areas where there are dictatorships—but there is always something back of the dictator; there is always something higher. In this upside-down world we can say it’s higher. It’s really lower until we have the world the right way up.

There are nefarious controls in operation in the world, relative to the governments of the world, which are not on the front pages of the newspaper—because the same sort of controls that are back of the governments are back of the newspapers too. So we have rather a tight situation here which relates to what has been called the antichrist.

If we recognize that there is the Christ (the spirit of Love) springing forth from God (Love), which is the means for true spiritual government on earth, and every place else in the universe as far as that’s concerned, and we see that this operates on the basis of human beings insofar as this world is concerned, then we may recognize that the same principle is at work in the reverse sense, in view of the fact that it might be said that the wetiko virus runs the world the way things are now. Perhaps it’s changing a little. We trust that it certainly will, because we do what is required of us. But there must be human beings to do it. And if there is the government of Love on earth, which is the government of Life on earth in a specific sense relative to this world, then the government of the world as it now is functions on the basis of the same principle, only in the reverse.

WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT’S HAPPENING

We look at the governments of the world as though they were separate entities vying with each other. We know the principle: divide and conquer. So here on the surface are all these things occurring between the countries of the world, between the governments of those countries, which look like conflict and no doubt is warfare. We see the massive confrontation that occurs between the superpowers. And it is supposed that they have sort of traded things off so that a balance might be maintained. But we recognize human nature everywhere. If human nature is on both sides, then the ultimate focus relative to human nature in fact is on both sides. And the fact of sides is something that keeps people from recognizing the truth of the matter. If we can all be embroiled in conflict, then we are looking at happenings that are not the real happenings. The things that are described in newspapers and read about in books for the most part are not the real happenings at all. Political science, for instance, is phony. It’s dealing with things that are on the periphery and never seeing what really is going on behind the scenes. If the reality of divine nature experienced on earth through human form comes to focus somewhere—we have some consciousness of what that focus is—then we may see on the reverse side of the coin that human nature comes to focus somewhere.

In all generations there have been those who have delved—particularly in recent times—into the picture to see if they couldn’t come up with this nefarious bunch who are playing both ends against the middle, and maintaining a focused control relative to what is happening on earth for all people—the antichrist. We could say that if there is a focus of Love, there is a focus of anti-Love. In the true state one might say there isn’t either; there is just the way things are. In view of the false duality that has put in an appearance, we can see from this stance the focus of Love and the focus of anti-Love—disputing over the body of mankind. That dispute comes to focus in Love on one hand and in wetiko on the other hand. The wetiko mind virus requires human form to operate, just as Love requires human form to operate. As there begins to be a focus for the operation of the government of Life on earth, we may recognize that there will be a balancing—seemingly balancing for the moment—focus in form of wetiko.

MONEY, A SUBSTITUTE OPERATING SUBSTANCE

Wetiko is pictured as a rather obvious sort of an entity. He’s really wetikoish! But we know very well that good and evil are opposite ends of the same stick, the stick of human nature. Therefore if you are seeking out some obvious wetiko in human form somewhere, you are not likely to find it. Virtually all the troubles that have come into the world may be traced back to good people. So wetiko would likely be related to some of the best people. This is an interesting thought. But when we come right down to it, we need to recognize two things—one relative to the focus of the government of Love and one relative to the focus of the government of wetiko: in either case it is essential that there should be the substance of operation. We are beginning to become increasingly aware of the spiritual substance essential to government. After the fall of man that spiritual substance insofar as human experience was concerned began to be dissipated quite rapidly. Those who were on hand at that time had some awareness of what was required to maintain government. This spiritual substance was required, but it was dissipated. So there had to be a substitute made which would serve the same purpose, but in the government of wetiko, the government of the anti-Love. We know what that substance is; we know what the substitute for pneumaplasm is; we call it money. Therefore the control of wetiko on earth requires this substance to operate, and it is through this substance that the operation of government is carried on.

We are aware that there are great concentrations of money in various areas. Do you think all this happened just by chance? Or that conflicts have arisen this way and that way just by chance? There is always seemingly a reasonable explanation. Human nature is very good at that, isn’t it? We have great experience in justifying, excusing ourselves for doing things that we know darn well we shouldn’t do. We have expertise in human nature, which is very competent in rationalizing, explaining away almost anything. This spreads a veil of confusion over the whole human consciousness. You can’t seem to get ahold of anything. And there are all kinds of red herrings flapping around, and people catch sight of these things and go greedily after them with the best of intentions—good people trying to make a better world but doing everything actually to make it worse. And yet you could never convince such good people that what they were doing was destroying the world or playing into the hands of wetiko.

Now, wetiko is very specifically human beings—not the vast majority of the population of the world, but certainly the focus of wetiko could not put in an appearance if there wasn’t something to be focalized. What is focalized is the human nature that is present in everybody.  And if one can devise a method of utilizing human nature which is universally present, then you can really build an empire.  And people have done this—empires have come and gone; great leaders have come and gone. We live in a world these days which has, like it or not, become very much one in the external sense. So the prize is considerable if one is interested in such a prize: the world, to be exact. Heretofore, within recorded history, it has not been the whole world because it wasn’t as unified as it is today—one couldn’t call it unified; but it is in a certain sense, with communications and so on. Here is a prize indeed.

We might recall something with respect to Christ’s experience as it is recorded for us—the occasion of His temptations, as they have been called. The first one was, “Make these stones bread,” and relates in that sense to food, I suppose. The world is full of starving people. Human beings look for bread. One of the best controls that can be exercised over people is to get them hungry. They will do almost anything to get food. So this is a very usual ploy in the world, used at whatever level it may be, sometimes on a grand scale, sometimes on a small scale, a method of keeping human beings subject to the wetiko because they have got to eat, after all. Withhold the food and human beings will behave like animals in the sense of their subconscious drives. They are worse than animals, aren’t they? But it can readily be seen how control can be established over people on the basis of bread. And if people don’t have bread, they are not interested in the word of Life, the proper element of control. They are willing to sell their souls to the wetiko. We can see that that, from the standpoint of those who are starving, is quite reasonable. But there are others who are taking advantage of what human beings do under that sort of a circumstance.

SURENDERING OUR RESPONSIBUITY TO THE GOVERNMENT

Then there was the matter of casting oneself down from the pinnacle of the temple. Nowadays in the welfare states in which we live, there is less and less need to take any responsibility. If human beings relinquish responsibility, they are relinquishing it to someone. It isn’t as though all responsibility vanishes. But someone assumes responsibility and those who have relinquished it are then slaves. Here is a way of convincing people that they are acting for their own benefit by surrendering responsibility. You surrender responsibility to the government. But then, who’s the government? The people you elect or Mr. Moneybags behind the people you elect? And so it’s a sort of con game, isn’t it? Everybody is being conned into surrendering their responsibility in order to receive—they are paying for it with the surrender of their responsibility—in order to receive security; “We will be borne up. It doesn’t matter what we do; somebody is going to hold us up.”  And everybody becomes completely flabby, depending upon everybody else supposedly. It’s a democratic country, after all. When the fact of the matter is that in the surrendering of these responsibilities to some parental government, one is reverting into childhood and is then beholden to whoever it is that has taken over the responsibility. But then you have to keep going back and back and back because whatever level of government may be considered, there is always something beyond it, something higher than that. We see it from the standpoint of municipal government, county government, state government, federal government. Are you going to stop there, do you think? No. There is something back of the federal government. It doesn’t look as though it’s one thing that is back of the federal government of the United States. It doesn’t look as though it’s the same thing that’s back of the federal government of the United States as is back of the government of the Soviets. No, after all these are in conflict. Well as long as everybody can be conned into a consideration of the conflict, the real state of affairs is not seen.

I bring this out so that there may be a recognition that the more the government of Love comes into form and expression on earth, the counterbalance of the government of wetiko appears in focus. If we recognize that the restoration is the restoration of the government of Love through human beings on earth, then from the standpoint of the opposite end of the stick—it’s not the same stick by any manner of means—there is the government of wetiko coming increasingly to focus. This occurs out of the sight of virtually everybody, just as, thankfully, the government of Love has been out of the sight of virtually everybody. But we might anticipate, from the standpoint of the government of wetiko, that somewhere along the way they have it made, as they think, in which case there is no more need to keep out of the sight of anybody, because nobody can do anything about it anyway. It’s a fait accompli.

We see something a little differently here, because the same thing may be said to be true relative to the government of Love. There is a certain point at which it is a fait accompli. The government of wetiko doesn’t know that. It has no way of knowing. In fact what is happening in this unification process from the standpoint of wetiko can be most useful from the standpoint of Life. There is a point when the victory seems sure for wetiko. They can come out of hiding, so to speak. And suddenly everybody is amazed to see what has really been going on and how they have been fooled and conned—and in a position now that they can’t do anything about it. But all the world has been unified in this fashion. Here is an irresistible force present, the government of Love, which can overtop anything that wetiko can do. We think of wetiko as utilizing nuclear weapons, for instance; here is the power. But if you have nobody to fight, if the whole world is enslaved, what do you want these weapons for? They are useless. There is nobody to direct them at. Certainly not against the government of Love, because those who compose that government—who are they? They aren’t all in one place anyway. The only value of nuclear weapons is if you can get everybody in one place.

NO NEED FOR NUCLEAR WEAPONS

This one aspect of the government of wetiko relates to fear, doesn’t it? Fear is something to control people. Get people looking at these fearful things and they are hypnotized. So from the standpoint of individual human beings there is an awful danger here. The thing that is projected is not the danger—nuclear weapons—because if there is in fact a unification taking place in the world, do you suppose that there is likely to be a nuclear war? Those concerned are not interested in destroying themselves. But it’s a good ploy: scare everybody to death—that on the one hand; of course, greed on the other. Greed and fear are the two things which keep human beings in line. People think they are going to benefit by being taken care of so nicely by a government of benefaction. Do you think that’s really what it is? For the moment it seems all right, but gradually the moral fiber is being sapped out of people.

Do you see how it is, that there is nothing that can meet this state of affairs except on the basis of the government of Life—on the basis of those who are no longer in any way subject to the controls which operate to the benefit of wetiko? Could we say that’s true of us yet? If there are some apparent seeming benefits around, well let’s use that to the advantage of doing what needs to be done. We can use wetiko’s weapons against himself. The only way that people subject to human nature can see to deal with such a threat that is present, if they awaken to it, is to get into a battle with it, to protest, to object, and if necessary to pick up baseball bats or whatever and go to war. But against whom? That is not the way. That merely insures the slavery, the subjection. It looks so reasonable and anybody can argue about it. From our standpoint there is only one thing that is reasonable, and that is to stop being subject to wetiko in our own living moment by moment, so that there is something emergent which cannot be manipulated. Greed and fear are the two factors of manipulation. It doesn’t matter what the fear is about, as long as it’s there. And there is the greed element, isn’t there? “Well we want more. We want principally more money.” Aha, that’s the substitute substance, isn’t it? That’s wetiko’s substance. Well if we have some spiritual substance, this substitute substance can be allowed, if it’s freed up, to conform with what is present in the spiritual substance, and therefore be of value. But it isn’t a substance that we would use in any way to manipulate anybody. And we ourselves rightly cannot be manipulated by it.

We participate in the government of Love, which is possible by reason of spiritual substance. Spiritual substance in the government of Life brings everything into the dominion of Life. And we anticipate this. But it is not going to be done by wetiko’s methods. And it’s not going to be done because we get into a battle with wetiko.  It’s not going to be done because we become afraid of what we begin to see—and we are going to need to begin to see what is really happening. We have seen a very low level thus far, never penetrated very far. There are some people in the world who think they have seen something working, but we need to see what is really happening. So I draw all these things to your attention so that you may be aware of the absolutely essential fact of being clear of wetiko, so that nothing of wetiko’s domain can manipulate us. It still does to a certain extent. But by reason of our passion for Life we can be easily brought clear. On no other basis will we be brought clear. Passion for Life: the First Great Commandment. “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.” Absolutely! Then we are in position to allow that true government to be a reality on earth and capable of handling anything that wetiko may do.  (Martin Cecil, August 13, 1980)

We’re at war . . . with dark forces of evil over the Body of Mankind and the Earth herself.  However, the lust for power and control is a futile and fatal hunger.  In the larger context, there are cyclical events of cosmic proportion to which those who seek control of the world and ownership of the planet are either totally oblivious or arrogantly ignoring.  As these earth-toppling events unfold—and they will come to pass—the “powers that be” in this world will see their assumed power and control reduced to naught, and that all power and control are, always have been and will ever remain , in the hands of the Lord of hosts.

Let this war against all that is good, right and holy, be met by the power of Love.  For only love can and will overpower fear, hate and greed.  Lust after Love, the only real Power that is, that cannot be contained, but must be shared and cast abroad.  Hunger and thirst after righteousness.

THESE ARE HARD AND CHALLENGING TIMES of existential moment requiring steadfast centering in the Truth of Love and of Life, the Source of our very being and existence; a time to renew our service to God and abandon our servitude to Mammon.¹

These are as well apocalyptic days of revelation of Light and exposure of dark forces, the would-be deceivers of the world, who are beginning to emerge from the shadows into the light of day in full view of the entire world believing they have succeeded in beguiling and enslaving the global community of Man.  But they will be aghast to discover their efforts were not only in vain but were used to expose them and bring them down, their control of the world taken from them and returned to the Lord and King of this universe.  In that exposure, many people the world over will be astonished, as they awaken to what’s been afoot all along, to see who “they” are.  The Truth will always out.  The Lord of host will have his day of victory over the dark forces of evil. That day is nigh, even at the door.

This is also a time for repentance and forgiveness, and for rebooting. A time for transcending the material world of Mammon, for transcending what’s familiar and comfortable to embrace temporary discomfort and change from the old ways to a new way of being on a planet in transition herself.

We are riding an ascending wave of transformation and transmutation occasioned by the Earth’s movement into a higher vibrational arm of the Milky Way Galaxy in direct alignment with the Sun of suns at the galactic core.  To the degree we are willing, our polarity is being shifted from the material world and its troubling affairs to the peaceful and magical world of Spirit, specifically the Spirit of Love, of Truth and of Life.  These are the important essences of life, the things that really matter in these hard times when polarization in disease and death is so prevalent.  It is a time for inner stillness, for watching and praying, and for seeing the salvation of the Lord of hosts.  For we are the hosts of Heaven come to return this planet to its Creator and rightful owner.

In the spirit of renewal of our orientation in the Spirit of God as the only worthy recipient of our service of love and worship, our praise and our thanksgiving—and above all our expression—I offer the following meditation from the closing chapter of SACRED ANATOMY – where spirit and flesh dance in the fires of creation.  May it bring you peace and assurance that all is well, and well in the hands of the Lord and his angelic hosts.  May it also stir buried memories of a Paradise lost and by what gross error we brought Eden down upon our heads so that we don’t repeat it—even as we are on the threshold of doing so again in our day and on our watch.  Let us remember for ourselves, and for the rest of the Body of Mankind.

Worship, Sacrifice and the Search for Eden

THE ANCIENT SEERS chanted mantras to evoke the presence of Purusha, the primordial Cosmic Being, the source of all human life, some part in which each of us is said to originate. As the presence of purusha began to be known during meditation, these ancients created the world’s first religious ceremonies to celebrate the purusha: “that Great Being of which we are all a part.” (From MANTRA, Sacred Words of Power by Thomas Ashley-Ferrand.)

As we have seen, worship had been, up until the time of the Master Jesus, an approach by man toward the LORD God after having departed His presence and gotten lost in a world that had literally crumbled under his feet and left him a vagabond and a wanderer. One can only imagine the pain in the hearts of those who knew life in the Motherland, where it is believed the Garden of Eden was located, just after she sank and the ocean waters covered her over so finally that there remained hardly any evidence at all that she had even once existed. The tropical islands of Hawaii are all that remain of Lemuria, or Mu, leaving us a small remnant as a reminder of what a beautiful and heavenly place Eden was. Before that fateful day the word “sacrifice” did not even exist in the Motherland.

Worship in the motherland of Mu was a celebration of life through ceremony and festivity, quite elaborate, according to one account from a diary of a young seminarian studying for the priesthood in Mu. In one entry he describes a festival procession honoring the God and the Goddess of the temple wherein She and all the priestesses were clad in flowing, transparent attire. He describes how he and his colleague priestess and friend had been chosen to spend the night before the festival together in the temple in preparation for the next day’s ceremony.  That preparation included sanctification of the temple through sacred sexual intimacy and ecstatic embrace in the unified release of love’s radiant substance of blessing.

Reading his account in a book based on James Churchword’s research into this lost continent, Mu Revealed, by Tony Earll,  brings back haunting memories of a time we once knew the world and our presence and function in it as sacred in every respect.  There simply was not anything that was not sacred.  What happened to spoil it remains unknown, although theories and speculations have been put forward relative to the abusive manipulation of solar power.  Some say it was the worship of the physical body and of sexual promiscuity that brought human consciousness to its lowest level.  Whatever the details, it was the result of man reversing his polarity in God and orienting in the material world. The entire civilization abruptly came to a halt in a massive deluge as the continental shelf upon which Lemuria rested descended with its sixty-one million inhabitants into the depth of the Pacific Ocean, an ironical name for such an awesome grave-site of the cradle of humanity.

After the Deluge, as noted above, worship became a means of appeasing angry gods who had brought so much misery and desolation into the lives of human beings, hoping and praying that they would restore the Garden of Eden and return them to it.  Human beings began to offer sacrifices to appease the gods—and there was good reason for the emergence of a belief in many gods, as the very elements of earth and sky became visible and audible players in what seemed to be battles between them in the heavens. According to Dr. Immanuel Velikovsky’s account in his monumental work, Worlds in Collision (1950), the planet Mars was thrown into a near collision course with the Earth as Venus, then a comet born out of the side of Jupiter, was caught by our solar system and made into a planet herself. There must have been a period of painful memories of Paradise lost as mankind fell into a state of collective amnesia in the wake of such horrifying catastrophes. We had forgotten where Paradise was, or that it had ever even existed, except for oral traditions and legendary stories, and a longing that stayed in our hearts for what we knew not.

That longing has sent men and women on a desperate search the world over for a heavenly place to call Home, a longing that could not be fulfilled by some external setting.  For Paradise was a state of consciousness that had taken tangible form in the Motherland through a people living together in peace and accord. It has been lying dormant in human consciousness, which had blotted it all out and buried it beneath layers of residue of failure and painful memories. To find it, man would have to look within himself and remember who he is and from whence he has fallen, and how.

This was the “Good News” which the Master Jesus brought to humanity and to the world:   “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Turn around and see! It is within you and all around you!  I like the line from the movie “If You Build It They Will Come, “Is this heaven?” to which Kevin Costner’s character replied “No, it’s Iowa.” Perhaps the answer could have been “Yes! In Iowa!”

When the Lord of Love incarnated through the man Jesus, according to the Biblical account, He brought the Good News that within us each one is the kingdom of heaven and that our bodies were ordained by the living God to be His very temples on earth, our temples as well. He himself reportedly did not openly use the temple in Jerusalem to worship God, a temple that had been built by Herod for the Jews, although he did, on one occasion at least, preach in it, and on another occasion drove the money changers out of it.  Indeed he even foretold of its destruction—that not one stone would be left upon another—which came to pass shortly after His departure.  Instead, he chose the wilderness, into which he retreated from time to time, as a setting to commune with His Father.  His place of worship was his own body temple.  His place of prayer was in his own “closet,” the “secret place of the Most High.” Here is where he taught his followers to go when they prayed, in secret where the Father, who sees in secret, would reward them in secret. (Matt. 6:5)

Toward the end of his ministry on earth he shared a “Last Supper” with his disciples in an upper room, where he broke bread and drank of the fruit of the vine with them, asking that they continue doing so in remembrance of Him. “I am the true vine and my Father is the husbandman…and ye are the branches,” were some of his parting words.  Through this act he refocused the priesthood according to the order established by the High Priest Melchizedek.  The place of worship was thus moved from the temple of stone to the temple of living flesh and blood.

The “upper room” may be seen as a metaphor for consciousness, or heaven.  In this sense, then, the Lord of Love elevated the place of worship of God to its rightful and original place in the upper room of consciousness in a living, breathing temple of flesh, and invited all to worship the Father “in spirit and in truth”— in other words, in the heaven that is within them and in the earth of their daily living. In so doing he reestablished for all time the human body as a sacred place wherein God dwells and walks with Man, and through Man in this world, a world which He “so loved” that He sent His own son to save it from perdition.

Like many of his teachings which have seemingly been ignored—perhaps because they had not been accurately disclosed by those who redacted and compiled them in the form of the New Testament, or even have not been fully comprehended in the records that were handed down to us—human beings have continued in their traditional ways of building churches and cathedrals of stone and mortar wherein they have insisted upon establishing their so-called “tabernacles” for God to dwell with them.

Truth be known, there is no representation of the Divine Presence in any building until a human being consciously living in divine identity enters it.  In these cold, marble-lined edifices we worship the image of a God whom we have made in the image and likeness of ourselves, which we then seek to appease with sacrifice and penance.  In a manner of speaking, the practice of sacrificing the human body as a token of repentance for sin has continued long after the Lord of Love had sanctified it as a holy temple of worship.  Castigating the flesh as something “sinful” hardly reveals an attitude of reverence for the body as a temple.  Seeing how human beings tend to view their bodies merely as a means for pleasure, and/or for getting them from birth to death, where they hope to end up in some “heaven hereafter,” it is little wonder they are plagued by so many physical ailments brought on by sheer abuse and neglect.

The truth is the kingdom of heaven is at hand.  It is here now awaiting our entrance.  To enter we need only turn around and begin our ascent into the temple of light that is within us.  Worship the Father in spirit and in truth.  Worship God in the beauty of holiness, not Mammon in the debasing lure of worldly riches.

It is a time for a reset and rebooting of our way of living in the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth.  A time to look up and go up to a new and higher level of joy and peace where viruses and disease are no longer necessary to the evolution of our humanity for the revelation of our divinity.  A level where there is no suffering nor pain, nor crying, nor death.  Let us sing the song of Solomon to our humanity: “Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.  For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone . . . the time of the singing of birds is come . . . Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.”  The old is passing away making room for the new being born.  Let us rejoice and be glad in all of it.

I welcome your thoughts and feelings.  Until my next post, blessings of love and light,
