Getting Back to Eden, part 5: The Process of Transformation 2

Is it not written in your law, ‘I have said, “You are gods”?’  —Yeshua

Paradigm shifts have occurred in our consciousness rather frequently over the course of the last several decades, and innovations have emerged in the ways we do things.  In the way we relate to God, for example, we’ve gone from church affiliation and attendance to spiritual transformation by way of “paths” to enlightenment and Self realization; from being mere humans to angels incarnate in bodies that are temples of a living God; from awareness as humans seeking an experience of God to that of God seeking a fuller experience of our humanity, as expressed in the saying “I am God being Human.”

In the field of healthcare, we’ve gone from the medical model of treating the symptoms of disease to the holistic model of treating the whole person and addressing the cause; from physical medicine to “energy medicine,” embracing esoteric energy healing modalities; from running costly and invasive diagnostic tests to honoring the body’s innate intelligence and wisdom by reading its energy fields and meridian circuits via muscle-testing for first hand information from the body itself about its condition and need for intervention and/or nutritional support; and from reactive passive healthcare to proactive preventive wellness care. We’ve even found a way via bio-energetic inquiry to discern and treat the cause of dis-ease at the emotional and subconscious levels with “Neuro-Linguistic Programing,” an approach too innovative and subtle for the reductionist “fix the problem from outside-in” mindset. Ultimately, we’ve dared to transplant organs from one body to another, even clone living forms via genetic engineering and test-tube creation.

In the tech world we’ve gone from naturally endowed intelligence to artificial intelligence; from building structures with bricks and mortar to constructing matter at the atomic level with nanotechnology; from assembly-line manual labor to robotics; from land lines to cell phones, from writing letters to sending emails, and now texts; and from attending seminars and conferences to teleconferencing in virtual “face time” space. We’ve gone from doing research in a library to “Googling” just about anything we want to know.

In science and physics we’ve seen leaps upward and out into the macrocosm of space and downward into the microcosm of quantum physics. We’ve “progressed” from mechanical and chemical engineering to genetic engineering of plants, foods, and, God help us, our own species.

In a word, we’ve evolved in our consciousness — and in our identity — as well as in our expression and functions, from being “creatures of circumstance” to creators; from being “mere humans” to becoming gods in our own right.

Transformation, the changing of the outer form of things, has been the main event of the last sixty years. And now with this coronavirus pandemic, social distancing has isolated us from one another—coupled by job and economic disruptions, world-wide social transformation is underway. The last 40 years of the 20th Century were particularly marked by transformation, preparing us for radical changes in the new millennium. The most important and pivotal transformation underway is a spiritual one, more like a transmutation of our identity from human to divine.

SIGNIFICANCE AND HISTORY OF THE NUMBER 40

It seems the number 40 carries the energy of change in numerology.  A Facebook friend posted this recently: “The Latin root of the word ‘quarantine’ is ‘forty.’ The official lock-down started March 23 and will likely end May 1st. That is EXACTLY 40 days.” She cited biblical events, such as the 40 days Moses stayed on Mount Sinai to receive the Commandments and the 40 days of his wandering in the wilderness with the children of Israel; and Jesus fasting in the desert for 40 days.  The optimum number of weeks for human gestation is 40, and the rest period for a woman after giving birth is 40 days.  Essentially it is the time needed for preparing a person, or people, to make a fundamental change, to let go of things we no longer need to live fully and move forward into a new beginning in a New Earth.

TRANSFORMATION

Richard Heinberg sheds light on the process of transformation in MEMORIES AND VISIONS OF PARADISE, characterizing the personal transformation of Jesus and the Buddha as “opening a door between worlds.”

The process of transformation need not be arduous. Indeed, in some respects it is more play than work — though not the competitive, win/lose play of civilized adults, but more the spontaneous, mutually trusting, experimental, and ecstatic play of young children and wild animals. As psychologist O. Fred Donaldson puts it, “Play is nature’s way of triumphing over culture.”  If Paradise is our natural state of being, then the deepest and most compelling force at the core of the collective unconscious is one that is always urging us toward that state of equilibrium. As we deliberately work toward a future characterized by respect and care for Nature and toward the nurturing of love, forgiveness, compassion, and celebration in ourselves and in one another, our conscious efforts resonate with the pattern at the core of our being. Heaven and Nature rush to return to a condition of balance and accord.

It is also true that as we move in the transformational process, we are working against social conditioning that continually tends to divide us both from one another and from the very ground of our own being. Hence, the need for the spiritual quest, which in all its guises is essentially a process of cutting through the crust of ego that prevents us from experiencing and revealing our own innate paradisal character.

This quest is neither new nor unprecedented. It is neither more nor less than the archetypal hero’s journey, identified by Joseph Campbell as being central to every mythic tradition. Every culture remembers exemplary men and women who have accomplished internal transformations, and who have left instructions by which others can do the same. While the details of the instructions may differ, all spiritual exemplars agree on the broad outline of the process. It consists, first, of a withdrawal from the world-as-it-is, and a deliberate act of purification. This is followed by a period of integration within the system of universal spiritual values. The process culminates in a final realization of unity with the ultimate Principle of all that is. While the details of the process are individual, the essential outline of the journey is always the same, as is the goal: Paradise — the realization of oneness with Heaven and Nature.

The heroic quest is fundamentally a symbolic journey, representing the progressive unfoldment of the hero’s transcendent character and destiny. Jesus and the Buddha are figures who accomplished the profound inner transformation by which a door was opened between worlds, and human society was led to a partially or temporarily restored condition. Ultimately, the records of their lives are metaphors for what must occur in the experience of anyone who takes up the quest.

In every hero myth, the first stage in the journey consists simply of hearing and responding to a call. The hero or heroine must realize that the world is in need of healing, and that his or her own actions will make a difference to others. For the Buddha, the call came when he was thirty years of age and first saw sickness, old age, and death. He was so profoundly moved by the suffering he saw that he stole away from his sleeping wife and child to seek the key to liberation from the universal human condition. For Jesus, the first awareness of the call came when he was only twelve years old. He left his parents and spent three days in the temple among the doctors, discussing theology. When his worried parents finally found him, he said simply, “Wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?”

As we lift our attention above our conditioned wants and fears long enough to become aware of the purposes of a greater Whole, we suddenly see the possibility that our lives could have significance beyond comfort and self-satisfaction. The call may be faintly sensed, or it may blare. In either case, a conscious decision must be made to either listen or shut it out. To ignore the call is to die to the purposes of life. But to listen and to accept the challenge of the quest requires a willingness to leave behind the ruts established for us by heredity and environment, and to explore unfamiliar territory. We cannot enter Paradise without leaving behind our present cultural or psychic environment.

The second stage of the quest involves coming to terms with a dragon, demon, or enemy. Seeing suffering, we seek its cause, and causes of human suffering are legion. At the beginning of this stage we may see a dragon that is external to ourselves — an immediate source of injustice and cruelty. We may decide that the dragon is embodied in a philosophy we detest, or in a person whose actions seem to cause others pain. Many people become fixed in this phase of the quest and never proceed further. Their lives are spent battling the demons of the world, which, even when apparently slain, seem to grow new heads and return to torment them again.

As long as we continue battling external demons, we are incapable of fully bringing peace to our world. Eventually, if we remain true to the call — if we continue to listen — we will come to understand that the real dragon is within us: all the problems of our world have been produced by tendencies present in ourselves. Until and unless our internal dragons can be dealt with, even the most valorous external battle cannot fully bear fruit. Some of the great heroes in religious literature seem to have realized this from the beginning. Both Jesus and the Buddha, for example, knew from the outset that the victory they sought was a triumph over their own lower natures. Gandhi, on the other hand, began his career with the belief that the dragon consisted entirely of governmentally enforced racism; only gradually did he come to see his own attitudes and behavior as the battleground for the forces of good and evil.

Once the dragon is recognized as being an internal force, a different kind of battle begins. This stage of the process, in which the hero is wrestling with his own inner demons, doesn’t seem especially paradisal. It involves the exposure of one’s weaknesses and the surrender of personal attachments. Paradoxically, it seems, one can only get to Paradise by being willing to go through hell. But this conflict, too, must come to an end. The resolution of the battle with the inner demon is represented in the story of Jesus’ temptations in the wilderness. Before Jesus began his public ministry, and after he had fasted in the wilderness for forty days, the Devil appeared to him. The Devil first offered Jesus bread, symbolizing personal fulfillment at the physical level; then he challenged Jesus’ authority; and finally he offered the kingdoms of the world, “if thou will fall down and worship me.” But Jesus, refusing physical desire, the need to prove himself, and personal ambition as motives for his behavior, replied, “Get thee hence, Satan!” For him, the demon was gone.

A similar story of the Buddha says that while he was sitting under the Bodhi tree, immediately before attaining enlightenment, he was tempted by the god-demon Mara. Amid both violence and offers of pleasure and power, he simply sat and remained calm, “like a lion seated in the midst of oxen.” Mara and his armies, frustrated, left in defeat.

The dragon or demon can be fully tamed only through consistent inner work over a period of years. Yet, there is an instantaneous quality to the essential transformation that eventually comes: at any time a sudden change of state may occur and Paradise will be present, if only for a moment. The hero tames the dragon not by fighting it, but by refusing to fight it — by facing it, courageously holding steady, and expressing the character of innocence and love. Suddenly, the hero realizes that Paradise has been there all along, unnoticed.

Even after the hero has momentarily achieved paradisal awareness, he must still learn to sustain and communicate that state. From this point on, he is certain that he has known the true and natural condition of human consciousness — the pearl of great price, for which the wise person will sell everything (Matthew 13:46).

After having developed the ability to consistently maintain paradisal consciousness, the hero returns to the mundane world with a healing balm. Having found Heaven, he must share it — which means sharing himself, his state of being. For the individual, the return is the culmination of the journey, but the quest is not complete until the world has been restored.

Richard is interviewed briefly in Michael Moore’s recently released film PLANET OF THE HUMANS, an hour-and-forty-minute documentary update on the present state of our world and our ill-placed hope in biomass, wind turbans and solar panels — well worth your time watching.

Getting Back to Eden, part 4: The Process of Transformation

“In my father’s house there are many mansions.” — Jesus

The passage above from the Gospel of John (14:2-4) has been a light of hope to many. The Aramaic text may be more likely what Jesus said speaking the language of the people:

“There are many lodgings in my Father’s house, and if not, I would have told you, because I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I shall come again and bring you to join me, that where I am you shall be also.  And where I am going, you know, and you know the way.”

The Teacher had a great love for his disciples, whom he called friends, and desired nothing more than that they should come to know what he knew and experience what he was experiencing.  I note that he said where I am” and not where I will be. He was on Earth in clear view of his disciples speaking with them days after his ordeal with death followed by his resurrection from the tomb, obviously in a transformed body—and I don’t think he was messing with their minds, telling them something that was not possible. As we have come to know over the millennia, transformation is possible and doable, here and now, and the “way,” as he had taken great pains to show them and all of mankind, is unconditional love: “I have only one command: that ye love one another as I have loved you.” And he loved those who came to his light just the way they presented themselves.

He had obviously ascended to a higher mansion in his father’s house, and they were yet feeling their way around on the ground floor trying to make sense of all that had just transpired so violently and unexpectedly, along with the changes they were feeling in their energetic fields just being in their Master’s presence those few years before he “ascended into heaven.” There is much teaching in this story.

The Many Mansions

We move from lower to higher levels of Being as we go through transformation, each level having its own energetic frequency—a transformed or stepped-down frequency of the ONE TONE of LOVE at the highest level of oneness with the Divine. There are those “ascended masters” who have reached that level during their incarnation, never to return again to the physical plane. All of us reincarnate until we learn to master each and every level of consciousness and are ready to ascend—and we cannot ascend from one level to the next without letting go of those coarse elements in the fabric of our outer being that are energized and maintained by the frequency of love specific to the level where we find ourselves—elements that cannot exist in a higher plane and frequency.

A friend, former associate, and colleague in the healing field, Dr. Lawrence Bakur, posted this view and perspective of the current human state on Facebook a few days ago.

“There are many vibratory dimensions to this world, as well as the worlds of spirit, and each dimension is home to a specific level of love that we each individually carry in our souls. Those with a lower frequency of love cannot live in the higher dimensions as it would “fry their circuits” so to speak.

“I have witnessed this on many occasions when those whose soul condition is one of service-to-self rather than service-to-others are in the presence of a higher love; they tend to go a bit crazy, which can manifest in childish rebelliousness or in extreme cases, anger and violence. What is happening is that the fire of love is confronting the emotional damage of their souls and in a sense they are writhing in pain to the extent that they resist. Of course, this Love can also free their souls and lift them up if they so choose.

“This is what I see taking place in the world today. There truly is a spiritual battle happening between the forces of light and the forces of darkness that fear being brought into the light. In fact, they are kicking and screaming, plotting and planning to maintain their power even as they are in the process of being left behind, depending on their choices.

“I’m reminded of the words of Moses to the Israelites who were caught between Pharaoh and the Red Sea: “Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.” Not that we simply sit back and relax. No, there may be many things to be done. But we can rest in the knowing that the victory is at hand. Why? Because Love conquers all and is absolutely unstoppable. In my own awareness of what’s happening on the planet, it’s picking up speed and those that fight it will not succeed. The Red Sea will part once more.”

And the miracle of salvation occurs by being at the right place at the right time when the sea of consciousness parts to reveal the Way across the threshold to a higher ground of being, a new and freeing perspective. In a word, a higher level of consciousness—a “new heaven.”

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow or crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” (Rev. 21:1-4)

The “holy city” and “new Jerusalem” symbolize the purified and sanctified state of human consciousness, absorbed into and reunited with Divine Consciousness in the final phase of the Restoration, at which point there will be “no more sea” of separate and isolated human consciousness, but only the dry land of a New Earth emerging from the Unified Field of Consciousness awaiting our care and stewardship.

I love how Lawrence articulates the essences-of-the-Moment in the transformation process of the Body of Man as we enter a particularly intense culminating phase in the cycles of the Restoration of Man to God.

In those five words is defined the underlying meaning and purpose of human life on Earth down through the ages since the Fall of Man from his position in Eden as the “conveyor of spirit to earth” and administrator of creation, as my poet friend Don Hynes wrote in a recent comment on my last post:

“I would only add that man restored is to God, becoming the conveyor of Spirit to the earth. Stewardship describes behavior but this time of revelation is calling for the return of the real meal deal!  The fall could be described as spiritual man falling into the creation. Divine man was to administer the creation, not be subject to it. Without the return to that position good works in the earth won’t matter, despite the good intentions.  I’m trying to elevate the position of Spiritual man without denigrating earth stewardship or the good works Richard (Heinberg) outlines.”

A Lesson in Mastery

Lawrence’s words bring up a memorable incident from my earlier years of attending professional workshops and seminars. I recall an encounter I had with my spiritual mentor at a time when he was apparently in the process of coming forth, just weeks before he made his transition from this earthly plane. I had just arrived to attend one of his symposiums when I met up with him and extended my hand to greet him.  He had already seen me approaching and, as he always did, was looking through my eyes into my heart, which was full of love for him and eagerness to hear him speak again.  As I approached and entered his immediate atmosphere, I was stopped by what seemed to be an invisible wall.  His dense, refined spiritual substance had completely enveloped his body, forming a protective shield around him.  I think he saw what was happening and lowered his frequency so that he could receive me just as I was.

For me it was a lesson in true mastery: meeting people at the level where the are in their journey, uncon-ditionally and without judgement, and not requiring them to meet me where I am.  It was also an exemplary reminder not to shine my light into the eyes of others but rather to shine it on the path to light the Way of transformation. He was a true master and beloved friend, the kind of teacher that appears when the student is ready. And apparently I was ready for enlightenment.

This has been a fruitful meditation for me, as I trust it has been for you. Until my next post in this series, in which I will share another excerpt from Richard Heinberg’s MEMORIES AND VISIONS OF PARADISE,

Be love. Be loved.

Getting Back to Paradise, part 2: Reading the Transition Signals

Apocalypse of light

“The peasant doesn’t cross himself until he hears the thunder.”

In bringing this series to a conclusion with this and my next two blog posts, I will share excerpts from the closing chapters of Richard Heinberg’s MEMORIES and VISIONS of PARADISE.  But before I do, I would like to share some uplifting words my friend and favorite poet Don Hynes sent to me a few days ago, as they resonate with the theme of my current considerations.

THE PROGRESSION

After the fall, which was a planetary solar progression as much as human, moving through a cloud where our current reality became possible, the Atlantean manipulations were fatal death-like steps for humanity and the planet. The trauma of those nightmares is in the genetic memory of the human race and the trajectory of that epoch was downward, from the downfall of the Lemurian priesthood through Atlantean science-abused wars to the caveman, cannibalism and the following centuries of darkness and struggle.

We are now passing through a very similar time of genetic manipulation, of atomic and biological warfare, and are in a subconscious way re-experiencing the ancient trauma along with the current horror. However, despite the obvious implications that our current trajectory is likewise downward, thinking of this as an historic and metaphorical “V,” my sense is that we are currently passing out of the cloud where our current reality became possible, as Uranda and many mystics forecast, into the clear sky and open heaven of the seven dimensional reality. We are on the upward stroke of the V, not the downward, and so my/our word to the people is FEAR NOT as we pass through this time of collective Gethsemane in our return to the Garden.

We Pass Through Nightmares

There are places we enter
at the peril of our planet,
dark chambers
where manipulation
of life itself becomes
the deadly fascination.
What was once horror,
now scientific reality,
barely stirs
our deadened senses,
”because we can”
the blanketing rationale
for behaviors unspeakable.
We’ve been here before
and it ended badly.
Contrary to the logic
of linear progression
we pass through nightmares,
remembering and feeling
what was once left behind
and now rushes past
as we ride the currents
of disease and terror,
of compassion beyond measure
into our new place
in the universe.  —Don Hynes

Don’s words are a clarion call to sanity and for an about-face retreat from our mad drive toward extinction — touchstone words to keep on hand as the transitional pressure gets more and more compressed, as it will.  The birthing of a new world is in process and the contractions are beginning to be closer and more intense.  It’s time to breathe deeply and exhale expectantly as we labor in love for the truth of life on our home among the stars.

READING THE SIGNALS

Richard Heinberg has been very active in the environmental movement since the 1980’s. He has written several books on climate and clean energy issues, including The Party is Over: Oil War and the Fate of Industrial Societies —  AFTERBURN: Society Beyond Fossil Fuel — Our Renewable Future: Laying the Path for One Hundred Percent Clean Energy — and his latest work The End of Growth, in which he examines how the expansionary trajectory of industrial civilization is colliding with non-negotiable natural limits.

In the following excerpt, Richard takes a hard and sobering look at the shadows cast by coming events, the symptoms of mankind’s abuse of the earth’s generosity.  Keep in mind that this was written some forty years ago.  Since then climate and energy issues have gained greater attention as the environment continues to deteriorate further and time runs out on the implementation of viable solutions. His and other authors’ warnings having gone unheeded, Richard’s optimism about our future has diminished considerably.

(For a rather sobering update on where we have come over the last several decades, you may wish to view — at a later time — Michael Moore’s recently-released film PLANET OF THE HUMANS, an hour-and-forty-minute documentary on the present state of our world and our ill-placed hope in biomass, wind turbans and solar panels; well worth watching.)

And now, without further ado, here’s an excerpt from chapter 12, “To Get Back to the Garden.

Warnings from the Collective Unconscious

When we diverge from the way we were designed to function, Nature sends warning signals. For example, when we eat foods we are unable to digest, our stomachs rebel; when we use our limbs in ways in which they were not designed to be used, our muscles and bones protest. When we do such things habitually over time, we are likely to receive not only external signals in the form of pain, accidents, or disease, but we may also receive internal signals. Such signals may take the form of nightmares and premonitions through which the body’s own unconscious wisdom attempts to alert us and to influence our behavior.

If this is true for us individually, perhaps it is also true for human kind collectively — that is, if humanity is ignoring an innate paradisal design (by envisioning and working toward a world characterized by artificiality, separateness, and the suppression of Nature), then we should expect to be receiving both external and internal warnings. On the collective level, such external warning signs might take the form of war, environmental degradation, famine, or plague; internal warning signs might appear as widely occurring visions of apocalyptic events.

As Norman Cohn showed in The Pursuit of the Millennium, apocalyptic visions have tended to appear in profusion during historical periods of political and religious oppression, social upheaval, war, and pestilence. The Hebrew prophets lived in an age of defeat and captivity; Jesus lived at the height of the decadent and oppressive Roman Empire; and medieval millenarian movements seemed always to flourish in places and times of unusual hardship. We see the same association of apocalyptic vision with societal stress among tribal peoples: in North America, Africa, and the Pacific islands, new spiritual movements that have arisen during the last century in response to the onslaught of civilization have invariably been prophetic and millenarian in character.

There are many reasons for thinking that contemporary Western civilization is approaching a period of maximum divergence from the paradisal ideal. Instead of simplicity, innocence, and the ability to work in harmony with natural processes, industrial civilization values sophistication, abstraction, the concentration of wealth, and the complete subjugation of Nature. These values have not appeared suddenly or recently; rather, they can be traced back to the beginnings of civilization itself. But we do seem to be witnessing the culmination of their influence. And as we actualize the ultimate implications of long-term trends leading toward the centralization of social power, the technological domination of Nature, and the fragmentation of human consciousness, we find ourselves on what appears to be a collision course with a deeper reality.

We see external warning signals appearing everywhere around us. We hear, for example, of the death of thousands of lakes and forests from the effects of acid rain. As the thinning of the ozone layer creates an epidemic of skin cancer, we simultaneously discover that a greenhouse effect — created by the carbon dioxide released from the burning of fossil fuels — is altering global weather patterns. We hear of the disappearance of tens of thousands of species as the result of the clear-cutting of rain forests, and of the loss of millions of tons of irreplaceable topsoil due to modern mechanized agricultural practices. These and other warning signals portend catastrophes of truly apocalyptic dimensions, catastrophes that can be averted only if immediate steps are taken to change our fundamental relationship with the natural environment.

At the same time, we are seeing an unprecedented eruption of what could be interpreted as internal, psychic warning signals. The past two decades have seen burgeoning numbers of people turn to millenarian fundamentalism for a sense of meaning and purpose. Christian fundamentalists look toward the imminent end of the world, the destruction of unbelievers, and the restoration of an earthly Paradise characterized by all the qualities of the original Eden — peace, happiness, and, above all, the opportunity to dwell in the immediate presence of the Lord.

But while fundamentalist millenarianism draws upon apocalyptic scriptural visions from eras past, we are also surrounded by fresh and original prophetic utterances. The classic apocalyptic scenario — a final battle between the forces of good and evil, followed by the advent of a restored condition of peace and beatitude — appears, for example, in numerous science-fiction plots and in the psychic predictions of Edgar Cayce and the “channelers” of the 1980s. Moreover, near-death experiences are making their own contribution to what amounts to a contemporary explosion of apocalyptic prophecy.

While conducting his NDE studies, Kenneth Ring began to hear reports of prophetic visions (PVs) of humanity’s future, and he decided to collect and compare them. Ring found that PVs seem to occur most frequently during core NDEs, and that there is an “impressive similarity” among the visions. In Heading toward Omega, Ring summarizes the common elements of the classic PV:

There is, first of all, a sense of having total knowledge, but specifically one is aware of seeing the entirety of the earth’s evolution and history, from the beginning to the end of time. The future scenario, however, is usually of short duration, seldom extending much beyond the beginning of the twenty-first century. The individuals report that in this decade there will be an increasing incidence of earthquakes, volcanic activity, and generally massive geophysical changes. There will be resultant disturbances in weather patterns and food supplies. The world economic system will collapse, and the possibility of nuclear war or accident is very great (respondents are not agreed on whether a nuclear catastrophe will occur). All of these events are transitional rather than ultimate, however, and they will be followed by a new era in human history marked by human brotherhood, universal love, and world peace. Though many will die, the earth will live.

Ring then quotes several PV reports. The following is from a woman whose near-death experience occurred in 1967:

The vision of the future I received during my near-death experience was one of tremendous upheaval in the world as a result of our general ignorance of the “true” reality. I was informed that mankind was breaking the laws of the universe and as a result of this would suffer. This suffering was not due to the vengeance of an indignant God but rather like the pain one might suffer as a result of arrogantly defying the law of gravity. It was to be an inevitable educational cleansing of the earth that would creep up on its inhabitants, who would try to hide blindly in the institutions of law, science, and religion. Mankind, I was told, was being consumed by the cancers of arrogance, materialism, racism, chauvinism, and separatist thinking. I saw sense turning to nonsense, and calamity, in the end, turning to providence.

At the end of this general period of transition, mankind was to be “born anew,” with a new sense of its place in the universe.  The birth process, however, as in all the kingdoms, was exquisitely painful. Mankind would emerge humbled yet educated, peaceful, and, at last, unified.

Ring attempted to find a rational explanation for the remarkably consistent patterns of imagery in the PVs he had collected. Could these experiences be projections of unconscious fears? Or, perhaps, do individuals who perceive themselves as dying somehow generalize the experience as being “the death of the world”? Ring found both of these explanations unconvincing: Why not a greater variety of global-future scenarios? The PVs are just too consistent to be personal projections.  Could they, then, be eruptions of unconscious Jungian archetypes?

Ring found this explanation more plausible, but he was still uncomfortable with the specificity and paranormal character of PVs. After examining all of the explanations he could devise, Ring found himself left with the interpretation the NDErs themselves insist upon: that PV’s are in fact exactly what they seem to be: inspired prophecies of future events.

If this is the case, why is humanity propelling itself toward a cataclysmic day of reckoning? Ring invokes a sobering metaphor: he suggests that humanity is approaching — and subconsciously preparing for — a collective near-death experience. As we noted earlier, NDErs almost invariably undergo a sudden and radical restructuring of values. A typical comment is this: “My interest in material wealth and greed for possessions was replaced by a thirst for spiritual understanding and a passionate desire to see world conditions improve.”

Throughout history, moral reformers have sought to inspire humanity to change its collective values and to regain its sense of the sacred. Despite occasional and temporary successes, such exhortations have generally been ignored. We seem convinced that greed and aggression are constants, restrainable only by the force of law. But Ring’s hypothesis implies that human nature, when it comes face to face with annihilation, may dissolve to reveal a deeper and more profound nature, one that has been hidden for millennia behind the veil of the human ego.

The Russians have a saying: “The peasant doesn’t cross himself until he hears the thunder.” That is, people tend to make basic changes in attitude and behavior only when their backs are to the wall. This observation seems as true for society as a whole as it is for individuals. Often, only a crisis will awaken us to the results of a destructive habit. In the case of late-twentieth-century humanity, the habitual behavior (and the potential awakening) is at a critical level and underlies all of our social, economic, scientific, and political realities. This crisis amounts to far more than just a serious inconvenience, or even a catastrophe on the scale of the Great Depression or the two world wars. Religious prophets and scientific futurists alike envision what amounts to the end of our entire way of life, and, conceivably — in the event of an all-out nuclear conflict or the irreversible destruction of the environment — the death of the human race itself.

We recall the prophecies of the tribal peoples concerning a Great Purification, which will cleanse the world of human depravity but will also reunite Heaven and Earth, ushering in a new age of spirituality and light. Is this what we are all unconsciously laboring to bring about?

Yes — and with a large “critical mass” of humanity, that labor is conscious and deliberate, done with joy and a sense of mission and purpose; truly a labor of love.  Apocalypse means revelation.  Every death is an apocalypse of light — only the light is revealed in the invisible realms. What is needed is an apocalypse of light in the visible realms — as above so below — on earth as it is in heaven.  I see this occurring as this pandemic brings out the best of the human spirit. May it continue long after the crisis is over.

I leave you with this tidbit of common-sense wisdom: “Like the proverbial bar of soap when squeezed, looking downward we go down; looking upward we go up.”  So, remember to look up when the squeeze is on.  Until my next post,

Be love. Be loved

Paradise Remembered: Tending the Garden of Consciousness

HAPPY EASTER

There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” Einstein

The miracle of life lies in the alchemy it creates to manifest forms from out of “nowhere” to “now here”—out of an invisible Heaven and into a visible Earth. “As above so below.” We invoke this alchemy, consciously or unconsciously, each time we recite the Lord’s Prayer and pray the will of God in heaven to manifest on earth. How this works is by Divine Alchemy — only it can’t and won’t work in human affairs without Man’s/our participation.

Words of the Teacher speak to this order of creation: “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you”– counsel my passionate father imparted repeatedly, and for which I am most grateful.

ALCHEMY Vs CHEMISTRY

In our scientific approach, we employ elemental interactions in chemistry, and physical labor, to manufacture products.  We even view conception and embryonic development as a biologically driven process. We till the ground to grow our foods and rape the earth for our fuel and building materials.

Forms may appear to rise up from out of the earth, and they do, as my sprouting beans in the garden magically demonstrate.  However, it is the subtle energy of life that creates the irresistible force of attraction that draws form up from out of the earth.  Man uses chemistry to make things.  Life uses Divine Alchemy to manifest Creation.  Everything is a miracle, including the chemistry. Even this coronavirus!

What is it that drives these alleged “lifeless” germs, made of RNA messaging molecules with protein mooring apparatuses, held together with fat, to attach themselves to cells so they can steal their DNA to reproduce themselves?  As Krishna exclaims in the Gita: “Life it is! Life’s urge it is! . . . man’s enemy or friend!” A harbinger of death, perhaps, nevertheless a miracle of life!

Consolation may be found in words penned by Charles Eisenstein in an excellent online article entitled The Coronation: “Remember, death is no ending. Death is going home.” Why, then, do we fight it and stave it off? Seems we would be happy to be going Home.

That said, my heart goes out to those who are mourning the loss of loved ones and dear friends, and to those special souls, heroes all, who are taking care of the afflicted, putting their lives on the line while struggling with fear and uncertainty, yet passionately going about their tasks caring for the sick. God bless and protect them each one.

ORIGIN MYTHS ABOUND

There are many myths about the origin of our species, including the Creation Story of Genesis.  In the previous post I excerpted passages from The Book of Grace in which its author, my dearest late friend Grace Van Duzen, offers insights into the biblical account of the Creation and Fall of Man from grace, stature and dominion.  I also shared excerpts from Richard Heinberg’s MEMORIES and VISIONS of PARADISE, and I’ve received several comments, one from a friend and fellow wayfarer, Donald White, who offered this critique and encouragement:

While I agree with much of your treatise here, I’m still wondering why the “story of man” as presented by the most ancient cultures known to have lived upon the planet with actual written records (the Sumerians and the civilizations that followed) are not part of your consideration of our origins on planet Earth. Atlantis (and Lemuria) may have existed…I don’t dispute that they MIGHT have…but we really don’t know (with apologies to the late Edgar Cayce!).

(True, even the Greek philosopher Plato used the Atlantis legend in his Socratic Dialogues as a fictitious tale, a mythical parable about the cultural and political deterioration of life in the state — casting a shadow onto our modern day.)

The biblical texts regarding these ancient times are highly mythologized, having been translated several times so that we have a version in English (King James Bible), but they still allude to more substantive, extant ancient writings in cuneiform from Mesopotamia (Sumer, Assyria, Akkadia & Babylonia). It just seems that what these ancient scribes had to say about their ‘gods’ and the origins of their culture (attributed to their gods) should have at least equal validity to any of today’s lucid dreamers, biblical pundits, and scholarly professional authors on this subject.

Are we as a species the product of a ”magical’ divine Creation or a design-driven, divine Evolution? Are we still evolving (with fits and starts from proto-human to Neanderthal to Cro Magnon) where angelic consciousness emerges as a whole in the world, or do we need to experience a resurrection from a fall from a place of divine identity where we already knew that identity in human form? These questions are key to your subject matter and I welcome your current focus in this area as it has allowed some deep meditation on my part about where we are today as God’s vessel and representation for this world. This I agree with wholeheartedly, beyond belief!

THE GARDEN OF HEAVEN

In the Beginning, Man was given a garden called Eden to dress and to keep. No tilling was required because this garden was, and still is, an invisible one.  It was the Consciousness of the Creator, who was willing and eager to share with Man its care and creating magic, along with its material manifestation — a desire that awaits fulfillment.  That’s why we are here today.  Eden awaits Man’s return to dressing and keeping it — the topic of my next post.

In this series I have also been sharing some of Peter Watson’s commentaries, which have actually provided thought-provoking upgrades for my own understanding of things hidden in the Creation Story handed down to us in the Book of Genesis, for which I am profoundly grateful.  Here is an excerpt from his most recent dialogue:

As the heaven – the realm of preform – must logically precede the realm of form, as with invisible life that designs and then grows the forms it inhabits, the idea of debris from dead suns being drawn together by gravity, so that under the right circumstances, with water air and earth, and a safe distance from the fire of a sun, the collection of debris would be suitable to support animated ecosystems is far-fetched to say the least. Such a materialistic view is clearly in denial of heavenly preordination, and is therefore flawed inasmuch as it cannot account for our invisible animating force, life, nor its origin; i.e. the Father and Mother of Life.

Fortunately Jesus foresaw the scientific dilemma that would eventually surface as men of intellect probed only the heavens, and the past, for mankind’s meaning and origins, instead of looking within, and perceiving the kingdom-of-heaven as instructed. His remedial advice, and blueprint for the way life works, are contained concisely in the so-called Lord’s Prayer, portraying the simple outline of the order in which life works (i.e. from the heaven and then into the earth; “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven”), which must be complied with if our latent human potential is to be realized and made manifest. All of this he liberally demonstrated in working with the four forces, starting his ministry in a water cycle, and miraculously healing those who responded appropriately to his presence, “Wilt thou be made whole?

(His brief earthly life and ministry ended in a Fire cycle with his celebratory entrance into Jerusalem, commemorated in the Christian world on Palm Sunday, and his crucifixion and victory over death that led to his resurrection from the tomb and ascension back into Heaven from whence he came — commemorated during Holy Week and Easter Sunday throughout the Christian world.)

It’s now up to a precious few of us who are remembering and enacting the instructions of Jesus, so that what he initiated may be brought to fruition as intended. I rejoice in sharing these words with you and seeing the seeds planted by Jesus replace the superstitious seeds of religious fear, and bring the Garden-of-God, Eden, back to life on earth. “I am come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly.

MAKING SENSE OF IT ALL

Having followed up on Don’s encouragement to at least expand my research to include the Sumerian and other ancient mythical stories of the formation of the human species, and having meditated on Peter’s commentary on the two accounts of the Creation story in Genesis 1 and 2, as well as on Grace’s insightful interpretation of the biblical Creation Story, I have finally come to terms with my own inner struggle to make sense of it all — and it all comes down to the first paragraph of this post: the Heaven gives form and birth to the Earth.

In Genesis 1, God, Elohim, created Man male and female, in their own image and likeness and placed them in Eden, a Paradise where everything they needed in the way of food and sustenance was freely provided, requiring no tilling but only a thought form to manifest what they needed to sustain their heavenly forms. God blessed them and gave them dominion over all the life forms in Eden, instructing them to be fruitful and multiply and “replenish the earth.” We’ve done a lot of multiplying of our species, but very minimal replenishing of the earth.

In Genesis 2, “The LORD God” (a conclave of God Beings, as Grace explained) is said to have “formed” man (male only) from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man “became a living soul.” Life, the originating and organizing force of Creation, is given to this man after he is formed by matter — the heaven and the earth in reversed order — “when the earth and the heaven were created”— contrary to the way the Law of One works to bring forth Creation out of Heaven.

Here we again have a committee of God Beings, not creating but forming a man out of clay, as many myths describe their various “gods” did.  As for woman, well, she was an after-thought by the rogue creators seeing as how the man was alone and in need of a “help mete”— not an equal partner but a helper.  So, it’s been a man’s world ever since the Fall.

This conclave of God Beings “planted a garden Eastward in Eden, and there they placed the man whom they had formed.” Here we have the first division, that of Man, created by God male and female in His own image and likeness, divided into a man and a woman, a pair of opposites — from oneness to duality.  One myth describes the First Man as being male on one side and female of the other.  Hmm?

Peter’s Comments:

Let it be said that any compromise, or reversal of the principle of cause-and-effect, heaven-and-earth in that order, would inevitably result in a state of decay, and eventual death. We cannot deny or ignore the way-of-life; i.e. what Jesus demonstrated admirably, with impunity.

Let’s say, in Genesis chapter one, we have a true account of creation, with Man, male and female, designated to share God’s dominion . . . .  Alongside, we have chapter two that denigrates mankind (not Man) to have come from the dust-of-the-ground, subject to externals and a tree-of-the-knowledge-of-good-and-evil, a tree-of-death, with no mention of dominion, only subjection, and we have a reliable perspective of how humanity has been coerced into falsely interpreting God’s will.

Earlier on in this commentary:

Fortunately, death and decay can only spread so far in either direction in the microcosm and the macrocosm at a form (material) level, beyond which life reclaims waste and renews it in the mineral kingdom and on up. As is recognized by physicists, no energy is ever lost; you cannot have a ‘dead’ (motionless) atom, or indeed a motionless galaxy. Where there is motion there is evidence of life; where there is life there is the ever-present origin-of-life.

We cannot separate matter from motion. Even using negative numbers, Euclidian geometry, or quantum mechanics, matter and motion are inseparable except in human imagination. However, designed as it is to participate in the furtherance of creation, imagination of the human mind can and will manifest if concentrated over a sufficient period of gestation. Beyond a certain point it becomes questionable as to what human imagination manifests is of any practical value; we may use disease and weaponry as examples of negative manifestation.

Stephen Hawking asks, “What place for God” in his imaginary universe.  Einstein said “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” Observational science limits itself to the analytical view of “nothing is a miracle.” Participatory science (ontology) expands its parameters to see “everything is a miracle.” Einstein’s vision extends the reach-of-science beyond the grasp of mankind.

The grasp of mankind is limited to material observation and measurement, a phenomenal mental approach to understanding the universe, but which denies or otherwise ignores the essential encompassment of a motivating force, such as that which makes vegetation grow, human digestion allocate protein where it belongs, and guides the constellations along their celestial paths.

And from an earlier commentary:

So there’s the so-called Fall-of-man in a few lines, sustained by, but not initiated by Eve — the cloned after-thought companion of a simple gardener when it was noticed, “It is not good that the man should be alone”. Unfortunately, Sunday-school translation has made them both appear to have been the original sinners, upon which religion has capitalised in using a ‘sinner’ identity to cover up the rogue’s role of Godlessness, and at the same time keep congregations in the dark regarding our true identity in original Man, male and female, not made from the dust-of-the-ground, but by the male and female spirits of God incarnate. “BIG mistake!” as Schwarzenegger would say.

ANCIENT MYTHS

Now, the Sumerian, Babylonian and other ancient myths tell of many gods flying in the heavens and roaming the earth making things they needed, which included laborers — more like slaves — to till the ground; and warring with one another over the manner in which things were being done, especially in the slave-making department.  They also created “giants” to do the heavy lifting.

Donald’s Commentary:

Here’s a short summary of the story of mankind’s creation as told in the Sumerian ‘Enuma ‘Elish’ (deciphered from clay tablets uncovered when ancient Ninevah was excavated circa mid 19th century):

“… What is extremely interesting in the ancient Sumerian Creation Story is the fact that initially, man created by the Gods was not able to reproduce on their own. This is why the Gods ‘MODIFIED’ mankind with the help of Enki and his sister Ninki. After the Gods had modified mankind, Adapa was created as a fully functional human being which had the ability to reproduce. However, this ‘modification’ was done without being approved by Enlil, brother of Enki and Ninki, which created a conflict among the Gods.

The conflict made Enlil the first adversary of human beings and according to ancient Sumerian texts, mankind went through an extremely difficult time while serving the gods.”

As you can see, there are numerous similarities between the creation story of Ancient Sumer and other ancient cultures and religions around the globe, but interestingly, in all of them, we learn that mankind was literally CREATED by the GODS in their own image.”

Perhaps the beginning of religion and slavery imposed upon our earliest ancestors? What an awful implication (and indictment) on our false ‘god/creators’!

I think Don is onto a hidden truth.  Here’s an interesting side-story I came upon in my limited studies of ancient cosmology. The word El, as in Elohim, is feminine in gender, indicating that it was a Goddess who created Man — or at least the Elohim may have been a group of feminine deities who were commissioned by the Godhead to create the world and Man in it.  Heinberg cites a man’s near-death-experience in which the God he saw was a woman.  I rather like this kind of musing about God being both male and female and how this works in the invisible order of angelic and creator beings.

RECLAIMING OUR ORIGINAL INNOCENCE

So, Don, I trust I have adequately addressed your queries about who we are and were we are in our evolution of consciousness — our heaven out of which our earthly forms and world continually and momentarily materializes.  I’m right in there with you meditating on our current role as representatives of God on Earth, and as co-creators and keepers of the Garden — and with you Peter, in uncovering the clarifying truth of the Creation of Heaven and Earth, in that order, and of Man and mankind, hidden in myths until a time when we can bear to hear it — realizing that we can correct the “Original Sin” of Adam by reclaiming our Original Innocence.

In our innocence — not by faith and belief in an unknowable God, but by conscious knowing of our own divine identity as Sons and Daughters of God, co-creators with God — we can intelligently engage the Law of One that governs Creation to create Paradise on Earth.  As we hold the image and likeness of God in our consciousness as the template of our outer forms, letting love radiate without concern for results, our bodies will continue to evolve and be transformed, ultimately transmuted into angelic light forms. “As above so below.”

It was Man’s concern for results and his self-determination that reversed his polarity, repelling our first parents from God and ejecting them from Paradise.  We are here to “repent,” literally turn around, restore our polarity in God, in Love, and allow a resurrection and ascension to take place.  All we have to do is dress and keep the Heaven.

I’ll leave it there for your meditation. Until my next post,

Have a Happy Easter and/or a Joyous Passover.

Role of the Thyroid in Shifting Frequency

“If flesh came into being because of spirit, it is wonderful.  If spirit came into being because of the body, it is exceedingly wonderful.  I am amazed that this great wealth has appeared in this poverty.”                                                                                           —Jesus, from The Gospel of Thomas

Continuing in this series on The Spiritual Significance of the Thyroid Gland, this excerpt from SACRED ANATOMY is the final post of this series. These meditations on our sacred energy anatomy may appear couched in archaic thought-forms and words. They are, after all, words and currents of the heart. I would ask you to keep this in mind as you read and process them in your heart, where true understanding is known and available.

Just as a recap, there are seven endocrine glands, seven colors in the rainbow spectrum of light, and seven “lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven spirits of God,” as described by John in The Book of Revelation in the Bible. Each endocrine gland provides an energetic center for the activity of Spirit in the body temple, and through the body temple in the world we each create and steward.  The fifth differentiated spirit of God, the Spirit of Life, works in and through the sacred center of the Thyroid Gland. I will excerpt the entire passage from Revelation here for context and perspective, as well as inspiration. John describes his experience being “in the spirit on the Lord’s day.”

“And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; and in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;  And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

“And he had in his right hand seven stars; and out of his mouth went a sharp two-edge sword; and His countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.” (Rev. 1: 12-16)

Then later on John relates how a door was opened in heaven and he saw this vision:

“And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.   And he that sat was to look upon like jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald. And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.  And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.

“And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.”    (Rev 4:2-6)

Changing Vibratory Frequency

As considered earlier, it is the Spirit of Life focused at this level of the Thyroid that creates the hormonal crystals which convey to the body cells their vibratory frequencies.  Any change in their rate of oscillation, then, would be the domain of the Spirit of Life. These first three centers of sacred energy obviously play key roles in the transformation and transmutation process, although all seven endocrine centers are involved.

As there is attunement with the Spirit of Love in one’s heart — one has come to the point in one’s spiritual growth where one knows utter love for and abandon to the will of the One within, nothing wavering or withheld — the fire of the transmuting Love descends from out of heaven within and consumes the body temple in an ascending flame. The body is lifted up to a higher frequency of union with the Beloved, even the very Lord that I am and that each one of us is as incarnate God beings.  The angel thus fully incarnates and takes charge of his or her renewed body temple, now encapsulated in a seamless garment of radiance, down to the foot.  Through this garment nothing can enter that would do harm to or defile the temple.

Occasionally, after completing an attunement session with someone, I have placed my hands on either side of the recipient’s throat Chakra to feel the flow of life pouring out from this powerful gateway. The current is so strong that it often pushes my hands upward and outward.  I can actually feel the shape of what I would call “wings” opening out to encompass the body temple, and I remember words from the Book of Malachi (4:2):  “But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings . . . .”

In such moments as these I am ever so aware of the presence of the angel in the midst, even at the door, ready to emerge any moment from behind our wall and arise with healing in His wings.  These words, then, come immediately into my heart: “The Lord is in His holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before him.”  And earlier on in the same chapter are found these words: “For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.”(Habakkuk 2:14,20)

Radiance is the nature of Life.  Uranda offers a meditation on each of the seven spirits in a little booklet entitled Seven Steps to the Temple of Light.  Of Life he writes:

Radiance is the wellspring of Life, and it relates to the Temple of Light.  Radiance is the Shining of the Wonderful One, and Radiance always is; yet no man can know that Radiance until he has let the Wonderful One have His Way.

Radiance is the ever-expanding Essence of the Wonderful One made manifest in the body of man.  Radiance is the Presence made visible in the world of physical things, that I AM THAT I AM may be known of men.

Radiance is the Essence and Spirit of Selfless Service.  Such Service serves not for a reward, nor does it seek results, for it knows that fruition comes as a natural result of Radiation.  The Law is, and cannot be otherwise.  That which is, is without seeking, trying or striving, for it is.  That which abides in that which is, is that in which it abides so long as it abides therein.  To abide in constant Realization of the Presence, fully assured that the Presence of the Wonderful One is that which is, is to be the Radiance of the Presence. As the One is ever serving through the Radiance, giving the Life that brings full fruition, the Blessed One who has Realized the Presence of the Wonderful One is fused into the Radiance and thereby becomes a “servant of the Lord,” even a Channel for the Radiance of the Wonderful One within. . . .

. . . Radiance shines forth from the Blessed One who lets the Wonderful One act through him in all that is done, for then it is that the outer self acts not of itself, but is an extension of the Perfect and Eternal Activity of the Wonderful One.   Responding thus to the Radiance, the Blessed One is blended into the Radiance, and is thereby uplifted into the final union with the Wonderful One — and this is Life Eternal.  Let Love Radiate.

All of this is accomplished by the Spirit of Love working in and through the hormonal chemistry produced in these endocrine glands, with primary roles played by the Pineal, Pituitary and Thyroid glands, with the added assistance of the Hypothalamus, as we have already considered, which serves as an interface at the floor of the brain for coordination between the endocrine glands and the central nervous system, providing us with vibrational information crucial to our creativity and balanced function on the physical plane of this material world.

These special three endocrine glands, in coordination with the sense organs, the brain and central nervous system, comprise the core aspects of our sacred anatomy.   We shall now leave the upper part of the temple and proceed into the body of the temple to explore together the remaining four endocrine glands and their function in what I will call “service in the temple.”  The service these lower four seals provide facilitates the process by which substance may ascend into the temple and be prepared for transmutation.

With the next post, I will begin a series of meditations on the Spiritual Significance of the Thymus Gland and the Spirit of Purification. I invite you to share any thoughts or inspirations that may have come to you during these meditations.  Until my next post,

Be love. Be loved.

What’s UP for Our Species?

“Skepticism is the chastity of the intellect, Santayana declared, and the metaphor is apt. The mind that seeks the deepest intellectual fulfillment does not give itself up to every passing idea.” —(Richard Tarnas, COSMOS AND PSYCHE)

My last post engendered considerable response from readers who shared some very thoughtful views in a lengthy and rich conversation on a group Face Book page around the topic of the current climate crisis.  The last word on the so-called “climate crisis,” of course, has not been written, and may never be. I did receive a lead to my next book to read, COSMOS AND PSYCHE, which I am thoroughly enjoying. Thanks Don!

One of my followers, Marco, from Alojera, Canarias, Spain, shared these three perceptions:

1.That our environment is radically changing and requiring human behavior to adapt in ways that will challenge past behavior.

Yes, and “adapt” is the operative word for the purpose of the current post — as in evolve.

2. That aforementioned human behavior (particularly since the industrial revolution) has increasingly reflected a sense of identity separate and superior from the planet and its natural cycles; and that such separate, superior identity has been fertile ground for the emergence of aberrant, predatory, and ultimately self-defeating identity, convinced not of humankind belonging within a mutually interdependent ecosystem, but in an intrinsically fearful, competitive, and winner-takes-all matrix.

On the one hand, the industrial complex may be playing a remedial role in getting the oil off our water planet, two substances that don’t mix well together. The late geology professor John Waskom, offered a rationale for the burning of oil, a foreign substance deposited on Earth by Venus when she was a comet some 3570 years ago — according to Dr. Immanuel Vlikovsky, author of Worlds In Collision, who was extremely knowledgeable in the texts of ancient peoples. Dr. Waskom’s scenario was that beings with technological expertise were sent here by the Creators specifically to pump the oil out of the ground and dispose of it. On the other hand, I don’t think the Creators had it in mind to turn the oil into plastic and other polluting and cancer causing chemicals. This has been the doings of “aberrant, predatory, and ultimately self-defeating” humans.

3. That as a result of the above, man is fearful of change, deeply convinced of his reliance on an unsustainable life-style. And unless something changes radically in man’s psychological assumptions, the species will not survive this phase of environmental change.

Radical change is the only path to survival. The question is: Who is it that hopes to survive this “unsustainable life-style?” More to the point: “Who can survive it?” Perhaps those who have thoroughly established a more sustainable life-style in an isolated and insulated community can.

A more transcendent question is: Why limit our thinking to mere survival of our species?  We can radically change our psychological assumptions. Why not think in terms of transcending the human condition altogether and creating a totally new and “greener” world on what seems to be emerging as a New Earth. God knows Gaia is doing her part to clear the way for a restoration to occur.

Behold, I create a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and old earth are passed away; and there is no more sea.

Because the new heaven and new earth are one and the separate “sea” of fallen human consciousness that had been maintaining the old earth is no more.  Human consciousness is transformed and transmuted into Divine Consciousness.  This is how the New Earth appears: “Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit saith the Lord of Hosts.”

Marco added this quotation from Homer’s The Odyssey, which speaks to the pathetic attitude of irresponsible humans.

Men are so quick to blame the gods: they say that we devise their misery. But they
themselves — in their depravity — design grief greater than the griefs that fate assigns.

Question: Is there really a “climate crisis?  This reader’s comment suggests otherwise:

I agree much more can be done to care for the planet, but panic is not good, and it’s scaring children. Many say it’s urgent, but 500! scientists and engineers just told the UN it’s not an emergency, that climate policy is relying on inadequate models, so maybe some balance is required. Indeed, the Russian climate model says things are not as extreme . . . .  Science is wonderful and very useful, but I believe science doesn’t know everything and hasn’t factored in all the variables . . . . [Go to this link for the whole story.]
https://www.washingtontimes.com/…/scientists-tell-un…/

My poet friend sent me these words of wisdom:  When there’s a meme [an idea or behavior circulated on social media] being pushed at a mega scale it behooves one to ask why and for what purpose.”

So I ask why and for what purpose. As I said in my previous post, I am feeling my way through all the reactive journalism and commentaries around the subject of climate change.

So, what is up for the Human Species?

All of this uproar over climate change poses a few questions in my own mind:

1. Are we facing the inevitable demise of our species, perhaps in the form of some sort of transmutation of our flesh bodies to a higher form of, say, the frequency of light?

2. This question gives rise to another: Is the earth’s warming climate preparing the way by creating a vibrational caldron as a crucible in which this transmutation might occur “in the twinkling of an eye” and without too much suffering on the part of humans?

3. In other words, are we being asked by the Great Spirit Creator to let go of our attachment to these earthen forms, at least our identity with them, in order to cross over the alchemical threshold where physical materialization meets the spiritualizing realm, the abode of angels . . . if only in consciousness at first?

Transmutation of form follows transformation of consciousness, as consciousness is the matrix out of which form appears. In other words, there is a creative process to be stewarded here whereby all things are made new.  Re-creation in consciousness is accomplished by Spirit as it finds expression through us in our living.  My spiritual mentor articulated this principle forty years ago:

When the spiritual action is present the design in form appears. This is the principle which we have doubtless known for a long time but by which the restoration is made possible. Behold, I make all things new. As there is the means on earth by which the spiritual action may appear, then the substance in the realm of form leaps to reveal it. All this can occur very quickly when there is spiritual action and to the extent that there are people on the face of the earth who are willing to let it happen, who are no longer insisting that material substance should be held in the structured forms set up by fallen human nature.  (Martin Cecil)

Lest We Forget Our Past

What’s buried deep in the human psyche that’s pushing up for conscious acknowledgment and remembrance? Are we awakening from our mass amnesia and remembering our traumatic past so that we do not repeat it?

In an effort to answer these questions, I would like to revisit a post from last year and excerpt the closing paragraphs. The post itself is a review of Graham Hancock’s classic Fingerprints Of The Gods.” Below is a link to the post itself.

EITHER WE EVOLVE OR WE PERISH

When human beings from around the globe, and from many different cultures, share a powerful and overwhelming intuition that a cataclysm is approaching, we are within our rights to ignore them. And when the voices of our distant ancestors, descending to us through myths and sacred architecture, speak to us of the physical obliteration of a great civilization in remote antiquity (and tell us that our own civilization is in jeopardy), we are entitled, if we wish, to stop our ears…

So it was, the Bible says, in the antediluvian world: “For in those days, before the Flood, people were eating, drinking, taking wives, taking husbands, right up to the moment that Noah went into the Ark, and they suspected nothing till the flood came and swept all away.”

In the same manner it has been prophesied that the next global destruction will fall upon us suddenly “at an hour we do not suspect, like lightning striking in the east and flashing far into the west … The sun will be darkened, the moon will lose its brightness, the stars will fall from the sky and the powers of heaven will be shaken ….”

What has happened before can happen again. What has been done before can be done again.

The thread that runs through the pages of Graham’s book weaves a fabric upon which is painted a prophetic picture for our generation specifically that warns of impending disaster for our world and its population based simply on a cosmic clock ticking away the centuries and millennia over the past 12,500 years since a highly advanced civilization was all but wiped off the face of the earth by a cataclysm. That civilization was known as Atlantis and is now believed to be buried beneath a two-mile thick cap of ice. Today that island continent is called Antarctica. Buried with it are the historical records of what this civilization did that brought about its destruction in literally the blinking of an eye — like a thief in the night.  It is likely we will never know the secret buried beneath those two miles of ice. An ancient lost civilization frozen in time and preserved till the day the ice melts and reveals its secrets. . . .

The survivors of the Deluge . . . left messages carved in stone which point to our day — when the sun rises on the Winter Solstice in the House of the constellation of Sagittarius at the South Gate of the Milky Way Galaxy between 1960 and 2040 AD — and when the pendulum of the cosmic clock strikes the hour when the hammer will likely fall again on the civilizations of man.  It is also the dawning of the Age of Aquarius which guards the North Gate of the Milky Way Galaxy.  As I wrote about in a previous post, this is also designated in Mayan cosmology as “the place of creation.”

We ignore the myths of our ancient ancestors to our peril.  The dawn of a New Day lightens the horizon. It’s time to wake up and face the harvest of our sowing days as it spreads ugly before us.  We’ve run into a concrete wall and there’s no way to go forward — only up and over it.  It’s the way Gaia is going — up, up and away!

I believe that collectively — and restoration is a collective experience of transformation, as we are all in the same boat — we have the spiritual substance necessary for Spirit to work through in averting a cataclysmic demise of our species, and to turn the tide of self-destruction by climate collapse or nuclear war.  I see this substance of love being generated by people the world over.  My wife and I participated recently in a diverse group dialogue on the issue of racial justice. The atmosphere in the room was one of accord that we are one race, the human race.  I came away with an uplifted sense that all is well. Unconquerable Life is prevailing, our differences adding color to its expression through us. We are beginning to truly love one another.  Let’s let this atmosphere increase and clarify to give Spirit a means for making all things new through Man restored.

“The Hero’s Journey” . . . . . Part 1: True Heroism

I always look forward to hearing from my readers and followers, and I am delighted when I do. A long-time follower and “colleague-in-eldership,” Peter Watson, offered this thought-full insight on my last post, “Seizing the Elixir of Immortality.”

LIFE’S PURPOSE — OUR PURPOSE — NO HEROICS OR SACRIFICE

The Hero has apparently lost consciousness, or been conscious-ness-compromised, or deprived, by educational trauma. Educational trauma can be caused by unconscious parents, fools in the schooling system, political-spin instigating patriotism, but more likely from the identity-crisis at the root of religion that imagines a separation from God, and thereby instills the suppressive factor of low self-esteem.

Constitutional conditioning, from men afflicted by the same false-start of an imaginary separation from God, cobbled together the Constitution which seeded the ills of America by the very rights that are only experienced through our oneness with God. Liberty is only known as we express the truth-of-God; happiness is known in the love-of-God. We are not ordained to seek happiness, but to bring it, and to be burdened by words that suggest we need to seek happiness is to further oneself from experiencing the happiness of God.

If this is so, the ‘nemesis’ is obviously the self-active human mind, which assumes an ego-identity, in early childhood, and from which it seldom if ever matures. And wouldn’t the ego just love to seize and control immortality; but it is always eventually faced with the fact that it cannot manipulate life, except superficially, for a few years, until it kicks-the-bucket. Unless, that is, the ego-identity is overcome by maturing – through all the stages of evolution, from babyhood through adulthood to manhood and womanhood, and then on to angelhood when one becomes aware that heaven and earth are one, and we are then free to enjoy life in furthering the expression of Fatherhood and Motherhood, as was so beautifully and masterfully demonstrated by Jesus when he walked on Earth.

I appreciate your observation on the changing/evolving status of cash-worship, which is otherwise the same as in the day of Jesus; that may be one of the last strongholds of false security to be surrendered, although it should be apparent by now that it’s really not worth waiting for death to take it all away.

WHO IS THE HERO ?

True heroism is to be found in one who lays down his or her life for another human being—physically or metaphorically—once characterized as having “No greater love….”

There are many heroes today who jump into the line of fire to save the lives of others without a moment’s concern for their own safety. Neither do they think of themselves as heroes. Some even say they just did what was obviously needed in the moment and what anyone with common sense would have done. Many have lost their lives in the selfless act of saving others. No greater love is there than when we see someone in trouble as ourselves and are moved by some compelling force—perhaps self-preservation—to give our all in saving them from perishing. For me it demonstrates the abiding sense of oneness that lies just beneath the surface play of senses that keep telling us we are separate from one another—and from God.

The reality is we are God’s presence on Earth, and what we do to and for another we do to and for ourselves and God. As Peter says in his comment, we have simply lost consciousness of our oneness with God and with one another. In romantic terms, we, as a family of many and diverse members, have fallen out of love with one another, and for pitiful reasons: the colors of our skins, the beliefs we hold dear, the country from which we migrate to find a better and safer life, and the differing political views to which we aspire. These are all unworthy excuses we maintain in order to avoid facing the fact that we are one family of diverse and colorful people united in a shared Breath of Life.

GOVERNANCE BY LOVE

The illusion of separation from the Creator spawns a sense of desperation and of being lost in the dark shadows of isolation. No longer governed by the Creator’s loving and trustworthy control and design for life on earth, the human mind has commandeered the kingdoms of this world to make them serve its own pleasures and demands. Self-centered activity on the part of humankind has alienated the kingdoms of this world. They were created to serve the pleasures and commands of the Creator, the command of love, not our hateful and greedy self-serving demands.

There is a dilemma in our relationship with the world of Mother Nature stemming from the fact that we are the face of Father Creator on Earth, but our actions belie our countenance and betray the trust placed in us by Creation. Betrayed, the natural world conspires to defeat and eliminate humankind. We are so caught up in our own self-activity and self-importance that we do not see that the viruses attacking our flesh bodies arise out of the planet’s own immune system. Viruses are scavengers whose mission and purpose are to clean up toxic waste and foreign matter. In human physiology, they appear whenever and wherever they are needed in the body to clean up metabolic waste, composed mostly of dead and dying cells.

WE ARE THE NEMESIS

Humankind, in its arrogant self-activity, is a nemesis to the natural world. We are the Guardians of the Threshold to the Elixir of Immortality . . . and, like the Scribes and Pharisees in Jesus’ time, we refuse to enter the Kingdom of Heaven at hand and all around us, and we deny the kingdoms of this world access to the Elixir of Immortality, which our true stewardship would provide for them. Our bodies are under attack by the immune system of the natural world and the planet, and we will not survive this attack unless we turn around from our self-activity and return to the Creator’s governance by love, and share that governance of love with the kingdoms of this world, so that they may once again come under the controls of cosmic order and harmony and restored to a state of balance under our stewardship and loving care.

We can begin by stopping our rape of the the planet’s resources and the pollution of our water and air. Then we can wake up and see how we are poisoning our own species with cancer-causing chemicals in our food, our clothing and our commercial building materials. We can stop using plastic, or at least recycle and repurpose it rather than pollute our rivers and oceans with waste. But before we’ll make any of these changes — to save our own hides — we need to wake up! And wake up our sleeping friends and neighbors!

ARE WE BEING UPGRADED AND REPURPOSED ?

I don’t know but that perhaps David Wilcock is reading the “Source Field” accurately and our sojourn on planet Earth as third-density entities is coming to completion as the planet itself move into becoming a fourth-density habitation for evolved human beings. If this is so, then we are on the right track to the dissolution of our third-density forms to prepare the way for the habitation by a fourth-density human race.  There seems no way to stop the wave of self-destruction carrying our species out to sea…literally in some places on the planet.

Life, liberty and happiness are our’s to have and to share freely with one another and with our world. To echo a line in my reader’s comment, freedom is experienced only when we express the truth of love. The truth of love is oneness. Let us regain our consciousness of oneness, the gold in our hero’s quest, the Elixir of Immortality. For together in love we live for as long as the Earth can accommodate us. Divided by hate, we fall into extinction, along with all the other species on Earth in our keeping and under our stewardship. Let us live in love and peace, in harmony with the natural world, in the freedom of truth, and in the happiness of longevity. Let us live for one another.

I will cap this post with a reminder of the full instruction of the Fourth Commandment:

“Honor thy father and thy mother, that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.” (Exodus 20:12)

In the larger context, one could apply the instruction in this passage to the necessity and wisdom of honoring our Heavenly Father and our Earthly Mother, both of whom we are fully dependent upon for our life and longevity.  Until my next post,

Be love. Be loved

Wheels Within Wheels: Breaking the Cycles of War, part 4

This will be my final post of this series. Enough already about ancient Roman wars repeating during the last zodiac cycle. It’s time to move on to  something a bit more NOW. This final post is about events that are at least current in our recent history.

As hard as the Cabal* tried to instigate wars, there inevitably appeared on the scene a hero whose actions averted a US attack on a Middle East country and a nuclear conflagration. Such was the case with Iran and Afghanistan. I will let David Wilcock tell how it all unfolded in this excerpt from his thoroughly researched and fascinating book The Synchronicity Key

THE SKY IS NOT FALLING—ONLY OUR BLINDFOLDS ARE

Smart Enough Not to Take the Bait

I was very relieved to discover that the United States appears to be increasingly pulling away from the Roman wars that occurred in the Age of Aries. The potential triggers were still offered to the public, right on schedule, but we finally got smart enough not to take the bait. Masson believed that the period from 1988 to 1992 could be as dangerous as the Cuban Missile Crisis nuclear showdown, if not more so — but the proxywar with the USSR in Afghanistan did not turn into a world nuclear Armageddon.

We also saw the original, short-lived Gulf War in Iraq, known as Desert Storm, in the key risk period of 1988 to 1992. This war began on August 2, 1990, when Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait. Aerial bombardment of Iraq began on January 17, 1991. Iraq declared a cease-fire only one hundred hours after the February 24, 1991, start of the ground campaign. Although many people died in the bombardment, Desert Storm was nowhere near the global disaster that Masson had feared it could have been if the zodiac cycle had exerted the full force of seemingly ancient Roman wars upon the destiny of the United States.

I graduated from high school in 1991, and that was also the last year I watched television on a regular basis. Since there was no Internet back then, I quickly made friends with books, because every time I turned on the television during the Gulf War, attractive female newscasters and unsmiling male anchors were interviewing “experts” who insisted the entire Middle East was about to light up like a huge, fiery cauldron of violence. Everyone was afraid that World War III was about to begin, fulfilling biblical prophecy — but the other Middle Eastern countries never took the bait. After all this time, they finally broke the old pattern and realized that the nemesis was trying to provoke them into having a violent reaction, in order to cause much greater harm — with vastly superior weapons.

American Heroes Block “Biblical Armageddon” in 2006

As we learned in the previous chapter, the period 1988 to 1992 in the Age of Pisces corresponds to Rome’s second war with Macedonia — from 172 to 168 B.C. — in the Age of Aries. The next significant event was Rome’s war against Lusitania, beginning in 154 B.C. When we look 2,160 years into the future, this brings us to the year 2006. Although it may seem, at first, that nothing significant happened in 2006, we did actually come very close to a disastrous war that same year.

On March 16, 2006, the United States formally declared war against Iran. The declaration appeared in that day’s National Security Strategy announcement: “We may face no greater challenge from a single country than from Iran …. When the consequences of an attack with WMD are potentially so devastating, we cannot afford to stand idly by as grave dangers materialize.”

This declaration also made it clear that the United States would use nuclear weapons to fight this conflict.” This was very serious, and it appeared that a nuclear first strike against Iran was imminent. The Cabal* wanted their biblical Armageddon as soon as possible. Thankfully, people in key positions rose to stop the cycle of violence from playing out as it had in Rome during the Age of Aries. John Negroponte, the director of national intelligence, became the hero who directly confronted the nemesis when he told the press in April 2006 that it would be “a number of years off” before Iran would be “likely to have enough fissile material to assemble into or to put into a nuclear weapon—perhaps into the next decade.”

A National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) that made the same conclusions about Iran was held up for more than a year by the Bush administration. It was finally released on December 4, 2007: “We judge that in fall 2003, Tehran halted its nuclear weapons program. Tehran has not restarted its nuclear weapons program as of mid-2007. We judge with high confidence that Iran will not be technically capable of producing and reprocessing enough plutonium for a weapon before about 20I5.”

The very beginning of this ground-breaking report said, “This NIE does not assume that Iran intends to acquire nuclear weapons.” The words “does not” were italicized in the original document. As of this writing in 20I3, it’s now been seven years since Rome started fighting the Lusitanian War in the previous zodiac cycle, during the Age of Aries but we still haven’t seen any overt aggression toward Iran. Nor are there any other major new wars. The United States does still maintain a presence in Afghanistan but has now largely pulled out of Iraq. I was quite relieved to discover that the old cycles finally appear to be breaking down.

If forgiveness is the key that will stop the Wheel of Karma from spinning, then it appears we are finally learning to love and accept one another. The nemesis can continue to harm us only if we fail to learn the lessons of forgiveness — and accept the temptation to turn against one another.

We Can Change the Outcome

It is very important to remember that we can change the outcome in these cycles. We are not trapped — and we do not need to keep repeating the same wars and atrocities again and again. As we learned earlier, we now have direct scientific proof that a small group of people can have a major effect on the behavior of the entire planet for the positive. Specifically, a group of seven thousand ordinary people was able to reduce worldwide terrorism by 72 percent — simply by meditating. They had similarly powerful effects in stopping wars, violent outbreaks, and loss of life. Fifty different scientific studies have validated this meditation effect. This proves that the cycles are not fixed. Wars will not keep repeating, right on schedule. We can change the outcome. The lesson is that if enough of us begin practicing peace in our lives, the ancient story finally achieves its purpose in bringing all of us face-to-face with the nemesis, so we can integrate our ego and learn not to blame one another for our feelings of pain, fear, and anger. We can finally master the lessons this pattern of archetypes is teaching us — and stop projecting our shadow onto others by making them into our nemeses.

We may then experience a stunning, worldwide curtain call, such as in a full breakdown of government, media, and financial secrecy. Based on the testimonies of multiple high-ranking witnesses I have personally interviewed, once the Cabal is fully exposed on the world stage, this will quickly lead to a disclosure of the advanced human relatives who have been assisting us — and were seen as gods in every ancient culture on earth. These people have been here all along but appear to have largely stepped behind the curtain since the rise of Islam in the 700’s in order to allow us to become a modern society. Because they remain shielded from public view, each person has the freedom to accept or reject the idea of their presence. This premise of free will is very important in the Law of One series, but once we shift into fourth density, at the end of the twenty-five-thousand-year cycle, everything changes. Apparently, as we settle into this new reality, we will graduate into an entirely new time structure with surprisingly different rules.

I have often said that if reincarnation has been proven to be a scientific fact, how can we assume that we will just keep coming back and repeating the same lessons, lifetime after lifetime? Isn’t there a point at which we learn the greatest teachings of the Hero’s Journey — and are now ready to step into a higher level of our own human evolution? (Wilcock, THE SYNCHRONICITY KEY)

ASCENSION 2019

Our Earth and the human species are about to step into a higher level of evolution. Between now and my next series, make time and space available to view this presentation by David Wilcock on the spiritual implications of what’s happening in our world today.  I’ve been following David for several years and I am more and more convinced that he is indeed the reincarnation of Edgar Casey. His message here is for the entire human race — at least for those of us who are awake and available to hear it.  The fact that you are following this blog indicates a heightened level of wakefulness.  His is an urgent message that I know you will appreciate hearing.

Until my next post,

Be love. Be loved.

*FOOTNOTE: The Federal Reserve: The Heart of the Cabal

Michel Helmer did not detect a cyclical connection between the Roman Empire and the United States before 1896. This was the year that big business bankers began seeing their plans realized with the election of the imperialist president McKinley. Under McKinley’s reign, the Cabal soon began an unprecedented expansion of its power, using the United States as its new staging area. After many years of planning, the big bankers-such as the Rockefeller-Standard Oil dynasty in America and the Rothschild banking dynasty in Europe-pooled their resources to create the Federal Reserve in 1913. The creation of the Federal Reserve effectively overthrew the US Constitution. Harry V. Martin published the following research online in 1995, before so many others discovered the same facts. Now, even the corporate media is increasingly beginning to discuss this hidden truth. The number of people who know the real story of the Federal Reserve has skyrocketed since I first began researching this mystery in 1992. According to Martin, “Article I, Section 8, clause 5 of the United States Constitution provides that Congress shall have the power to coin money and regulate the value thereof, and of any foreign coins. But that is not the case. The United States government has no power to issue money, control the flow of money, or to even distribute it. That belongs to a private corporation, registered in the State of Delaware—the Federal Reserve Bank.”

The Imaginal Realm: “As Above So Below”

I just finished listening to an interview with Dr. Becca Tarnas on the blog Rune Soup. She and George, the moderator, have a most interesting conversation on the topic of the “Imaginal Realm.”  If you have an hour or so to spare, have a listen. In the interview Dr. Tarnas focuses on Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings trilogy and Carl Jung’s “Red Book” as examples of  authors who cross over into the “imaginal realm” from which they tell stories that convey messages for our time and civilization.  I would like to delve into this topic a bit in this blog post.

In her evocative and controversial book The Meaning of Mary Magdalene – The Woman at the Heart of Christianity, author and Episcopal prelate Cynthia Bourgeault makes a distinction between the “imaginal realm” and imagination which I feel deserves in-depth consideration. The context of this consideration is the vision Mary Magdalene has of Jesus just after his resurrection when she reportedly mistakes him for the gardener.  In her gospel, Mary Magdalene tells the apostles of Jesus’ resurrection and goes on to describe her remarkable experience with him.

I saw the Master in a vision and I said to him, “Lord I see you now in a vision.” And he answered me, “You are blessed, Mary, since the sight of me does not disturb you. For where is the nous [the heart] lies the treasure.” Then I said to him: “Lord, when someone meets you in a Moment of vision, is it through the soul [psyche] that they see, or is it through the Spirit [Pneuma] ?”

The Teacher answered: “It is neither through the soul nor the spirit , but the nous between the two that sees the vision….”

The “nous” is the heart, or the “eye of the heart.” It’s our capacity to discern spiritual or vibrational essences. It’s the space between the infinite and the finite, between pure spirit and gross matter – and it is said to belong to Spirit, generated as it is by Spirit for communicating with the physical world and for conveying “images” for the manifestation of “analogues”– the manifest forms.

From Cynthia’s book:

Most of us, reared in the scientific objectivism of our times, tend to think of visions as “subjective.” They belong to the realm of the personal and interior and, while perhaps illuminating the workings of an individual psyche, do not conform to anything in external reality. These, in fact, were precisely the criticisms that began to be raised during the third and fourth centuries, when visionary revelation was rejected as an authentic mode of knowing within the church. But in the original wisdom anthropologies . . . visionary knowledge is not an “experience,” let alone a private or subjective one; it is “of an ontological reality entirely superior to mere possibility” It emanates from an actual realm, a realm that is in fact more subtle and endowed with real Being than our own. In fact, in the reversal of our usual sense of things, it is the place of origin from which what we usually refer to as “reality” is merely the shadow projected into space and time.

Many centuries later, when this implicit anthropology came to maturity in the work of some remarkable Near Eastern Islamic mystics, this realm would be given the title “the imaginal realm.” Imaginal does not mean “imaginary”—that is, fictitious or subjective. It means the realm in which the images—the eternal prototypes—reveal themselves in their full authenticity. Remember how, in dialogue I, Jesus introduced the notion of “image” as a kind of primordial template? The imaginal is the realm from which these images emanate. . . . “that in-between zone where spirits become embodied and bodies become spiritualized.”

“Pneumaplasm”

The word “pneumaplasm” was coined by Lloyd Meeker (Uranda) eighty some years ago to represent this substance through which Spirit communicates with the material world.  Uranda was the founder of the Attunement service now being offered by attunement practitioners the world over.  I have incorporated sacred sound in my personal attunement service and have written a book about this sacred technology. I would like to share an excerpt from my book, Attunnement With Sacred Sound, from the section “Cellular Replication in a Musical Matrix of Light.”

“Image” and “Analogue” — “As Above so Below”

“From a mystical and metaphysical perspective, the Hermetic teaching ‘as above so below’ is restated by the great mystic Jesus who left a profound teaching himself with his disciples in a stream of dialogue that was recorded in both the Gospel of Mary Magdalene and the Gospel of Thomas, manuscripts that were discovered as early as 1896 (the Magdalene text) and as late as the mid twentieth century [1945] when Nag Hammadi material was discovered. In both of these Gospels, Jesus speaks about an ‘Image.’

“In her powerfully compelling and provocative book, The Meaning of MARY MAGADALENE—Discovering the Woman at the Heart of Christianity, Episcopal priest and author Cynthia Bourgeault shares teachings of the Master Jesus from The Gospel of Mary Magdalene that transgress lines of traditional orthodoxy. I will excerpt several passages from the fourth chapter of her book that are pertinent to this discussion, starting with a dialogue around ‘image’ and ‘analogue.’

Within the particular metaphysical stream that Jesus seems to be working in, image corresponds to that primordial template mentioned earlier—“the origin” of each created form. Very cautiously, you might label it an archetype. At first glance you may be tempted to transpose this teaching into Platonic categories and assume that Jesus is talking about the “ideal form” of a thing. But be cautious in doing so, for there is a distinctly different dynamism at work here. For Jesus, the “image” is not merely a static blueprint, a preexistent prototype that its earthly analogue mechanically reflects. Between image and analogue there is a dynamic reciprocity as they simultaneously articulate the same reality in two different realms. Image and analogue are in continuously creative tension receiving and fulfilling each other, and it is in the energy exchange that their indivisible wholeness is made manifest.

Images do not arise in this realm, however (their origin is several cosmoses more subtle), and trouble begins when this fundamental cosmic law is forgotten. . . .

“I like her use of the word ‘analogue’ here, which means similar in function but not in origin and structure, as it represents accurately the relationship between Man and his Creator, in whose image and likeness we are made in order to function as creators ourselves. In our energy and attunement work you might say that we seek to facilitate a clarifying, balancing and intensification of this ‘energy exchange’ between image and analogue with the intention that the oneness between them may be made manifest in the person’s experience of life, as well as in our own. . . .

“In ‘Dialogue One,’ a disciple asks Jesus about matter and whether it will ‘survive.'”[This inquisitiveness on the part of the disciple, taking place as this dialogue does in the wake of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead, makes perfect sense. “Are you really here in the flesh or simply in a vision?” Or, more to the point, “Did the matter of your body live on after death?” the student asks.]

“Jesus answered: ‘All of nature with its forms and creatures exist together and are interwoven with each other. They will be resolved back, however, to their own proper origin, for the compositions of matter return to the original roots of their nature. Those who have ears, let them hear this.’

“Cynthia Bourgeault expands on this:

But by this . . . he does not mean they dissolve into their component atoms, quarks and/or humors. Instead, they return to an original template—or ‘image’— whose place of arising is in another realm.

“The dialogue suddenly turns into an inquiry about sin and its origin, into which Jesus offers a remarkably clarifying perspective.

Sin as such does not exist. You only bring it into manifestation when you act in ways that are adulterous in nature. It is for this reason that the Good has come among you pursuing its own essence within nature in order to reunite everything to its origin. This is also the reason for sickness and death, because you embrace what deceives you. Consider these matters, then, with your spiritual intellect. Attachment to matter gives birth to passion without an Image of itself because it is drawn from that which is contrary to its higher nature. The result is that confusion and disturbance resonates throughout one’s whole being. It is for this reason that I told you to find contentment at the level of the heart, and if you are discouraged, take heart in the presence of the Image of your true nature. Those with ears, let them hear this.

“A ‘Vertical Axis’

“Cynthia Bourgeault offers that ‘within his particular frame of reference, acting in ways that are ‘adulterous in nature’ will prove to have very specific meaning. It signifies a failure to stay aligned with origin; with that mysterious ‘root’ (or template) of one’s nature he has already alluded to, which, while arising beyond this realm, seeks its full expression here.” . . . [Jesus] quickly assures his students that this world is valuable and precious; indeed, this is the very reason the Good has come among them in the first place—“pursuing its own essence within nature . . . in order to reunite everything to its origin.’ There is important integrative work to be done here. But it all depends upon keeping a right alignment along what wisdom tradition typically refers to as the ‘vertical axis’: the invisible spiritual continuum that joins the realms together. Nearly sixteen centuries later, the German mystic Jacob Boehme would express this cosmological insight with poetic precision and beauty:

‘For you must realize that earth unfolds its properties and powers in union with Heaven aloft above us, and there is one Heart, one Being, one Will, one God, all in all.’

“The author then offers these words of truth and wisdom derived from Jesus’ teaching:

When the realms are in spontaneous resonance—’One Heart, one Being, one Will, one God, all in all’—the music of the spheres bursts forth. When they are not, disease and disharmony inevitably ensue. As he quickly points out (again, with a contemporary feeling to the teaching), ‘Confusion and disturbance resonate throughout one’s whole being,’ and sickness and death are the inevitable result.

“The heart realm is the ‘secret place’ in which we commune with God; the capacity for spiritual discernment and understanding. It is precisely this ‘vertical axis’ around which we must wrap our hearts in order to attune to the vibration of the Lord of Love, from whence all power to heal and uplift derives. I bring these excerpts into this writing for the profoundly clear light they shine on the core essence and purpose of attunement and energy work, as well as for the perspective and insight they offer into the dynamism at work between inner Reality and outer form—continually giving to and receiving from each other the spiritual energies that generate the pneumaplasmic substance that connects spirit with form and makes possible their manifest wholeness and oneness. I was deeply moved when I first read this chapter, as I was profoundly uplifted—and continue to be—reading and re-reading Cynthia’s book.”

The imaginal realm is precisely the realm that we, as healers and co-creators, must become intimate with in bringing down into the earth the true patterns of life which alone can restore order and harmony to our world. As we make visible the invisible Reality imaged for us in this heaven, our Earth is restored.

I will leave this consideration at that and continue the discussion in my next post, in which I will open up a consideration of the masculine and feminine energies at work in our human capacities and throughout the “creating universe,” as Walter Russell describes the world in which we live and have our being. Until then,

Be love. Be loved.

The Gospel of the Beloved Companion

I interrupt this series to bring forward into the light of day something new and enlightening, something I have never seen in the Canonical Gospels of the New Testament Bible. It’s found in the Gospel of Mary Magdalene, which reveals a different view of the life and public ministry of Jesus — whose historic name, by the way, was “Yeshua.” I found this while reading THE GOSPEL OF THE BELOVED COMPANION  by Jehanne De Quillan, who translated her gospel directly from the original Greek.

The setting for these words spoken by Mary Magdalene is a room in the “House of Bethany” where the disciples of Jesus had gathered just after the crucifixion and resurrection of their Master. As the Canonical Gospels relate the story, Mary of Bethany – whom Jesus had called “the Migdalah” (which means tower of strength and courage) – went to the tomb where Jesus’s body had been placed and found the stone rolled back and the tomb empty. Mistaking a presence in the garden as the gardener, she asked where he had taken the body, at which point Jesus called her by her name, “Miryam,” to which she answered “Rabbouni.” Being moved to embrace her Beloved, Jesus said to her “‘Miryam, do not hold to me, for I am not of the flesh, neither am I one with the spirit….'” He then asked her to go to his disciples and tell them the good news of his resurrection so that, as he put it, “‘all would know that my words are true and that any who should choose to believe them and keep to my commandments will follow me on their last day.'” [These words are packed with historical significance – which I may unpack in a future post.]

So Mary went to the disciples and told them how she had seen and spoken with Jesus. They apparently were a bit disbelieving and even jealous of her intimate rapport with their Master, especially Peter, who said “‘Sister, we know that he loved you more than any other among women. Tell us the words of the Rabbi, which you remember, which you know and understand, but we do not, nor have we heard them.'”

And here is what she reportedly answered them:

What is hidden from you, I will proclaim to you.

My Master spoke thus to me. He said, “Miryam, blessed are you who came into being before coming into being, and whose eyes are set upon the Kingdom, who from the beginning has understood and followed my teachings. Only from the truth I tell you there is a great tree within you that does not change, summer or winter, and its leaves do not fall. Whosoever listens to my words and ascends to its crown will not taste death, but will know the truth of eternal life.”

Then he showed me a vision in which I saw a great tree that seemed to reach unto the heavens; and as I saw these things, he said “The roots of this tree are in the earth, which is your body. The trunk extends upward through the five regions of Humanity to the Crown, which is the Kingdom of the Spirit.

There are eight great boughs upon this tree and each bough bears its own fruit, which you must eat in all its fullness. As the fruit of the tree of the Garden [referring to the “fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil”] caused Adam and Chav’vah [Eve?] to fall into darkness, so this fruit will grant to you the Light of the Spirit that is Eternal Life. Between each bough is a gate and a guardian who challenges the unworthy who try to pass.

“The leaves at the bottom of the tree are thick and plentiful, so no light penetrates to illuminate the way. But fear not, for I am the Way and the Light, and I tell you that as one ascends the tree, the leaves that block one from the Light are fewer, so it is possible to see all more clearly. Those who seek to ascend must free themselves of the world. If you do not free yourself from the world, you will die in the darkness that is the root of the tree. But if you free yourself, you will rise and reach the Light that is the Eternal Life of the Spirit.”

She continues to relate how she ascended the tree, bough by bough, entering gate by gate, until she reached the top crown of the tree. Each bough had its own unique requirement and its own unique gifts.

On the first level, she had to release all judgement and wrath in order to receive the nourishment of the gifts of love and compassion.

On the second bough, she had to release ignorance and intolerance to receive the gifts of wisdom and understanding.

To enter the third gate on the level of the third great bough, she had to release duplicity and arrogance in order to receive the gifts of honor and humility.

At the  level of the fourth great bough, she had to confront and free herself of the weakness of the flesh and the illusion of her fears. Here she received the gifts of strength and courage.

Then she says this about her remaining ascent upward:

Only then, my Master told me, when you have rejected the deceiver, can you pass through the hardest gate of all, to attain the fifth bough and the fruit of clarity and truth. Only then will you know the clarity and truth of your soul and, knowing your Self for the first time, understand that you are a child of the Living Spirit. And as my soul moved upward, I realized that I could no longer hear the voice of the world, as all had become as silence.

Then in the Light above, I saw the sixth bough, the one that bore the fruit of power and healing. My Master told me that when you truly have eaten of the fruit of the clarity and truth of your Self, then could you partake of the fruit of power and healing. The power to heal your own soul and thereby make it ready to ascend to the seventh bough, where it will be filled by the fruit of Light and Goodness.

And I saw my soul, now free of all darkness, ascend again to be filled with the Light and Goodness that is the Spirit. And I was filled with a fierce Joy as my soul turned to fire and flew upwards in the flames from whence my Master showed me the eighth and final bough, upon which burned the fruit of the grace and beauty of the Spirit.

And I felt my soul and all that I could see dissolve and vanish in a brilliant Light, in a likeness unto the sun. And in the Light, I beheld a woman of extraordinary beauty, clothed in garments of brilliant white. The figure extended its arms and I felt my soul drawn into its embrace and in that moment I was freed from the world and realized that the fetter of forgetfulness was temporary. From now on, I shall rest through the course of the time of the age in silence. And then, as if from a great distance, I heard the voice of my Master tell me, “Miryam, whom I have called the Migdalah, now you have seen the all, and have known the truth of your Self; the truth that I Am. Now you have become the completion of completions.” And thus the vision ended.

“This is what my Master has told and shown me, and only from the truth I tell you, that all that I have revealed to you is true.”

When the Migdalah had told of all the Yeshua and said and done, she fell silent, since it was in that silence that Yeshua had spoken with her and revealed these truths.

And she has remained silent ever since. The Catholic Church and all of Christianity has kept Jesus’s Beloved Companion, along with the feminine in general, suppressed and silenced. But she is silent no longer. It’s no coincidence, I feel, that this Gospel of Mary Magdalene, The Beloved Companion has surfaced in this day and at this specific time of the rise of the feminine movement. It may even be vibrationally causal relative to that movement.

This passage bears much fruit for meditation. Just the revelation that the Spirit is feminine, “a woman of extraordinary beauty, clothed in garments of brilliant white,” is thought provoking in the context of a male-dominating world and religion.  Here is the Divine Feminine revealed to the world through Mary Magdalene, Jesus’s beloved companion.  Earlier in the text of this Gospel, Jesus refers to the Spirit as “she.” I felt a refreshing breeze blow through my soul as I read his reference to the Spirit as feminine — my own feminine energies, no doubt, stirring with recognition and acknowledgment.

In rejecting the Divine Feminine, the Church rejected the Spirit, leaving it spiritless and dead – my own personal impression of the Catholic Church and its priesthood, to which I once aspired as a young man. There is more spirit expressed in the Pentecostal religion, and in the worship service of the Black churches I’ve visited, than in all of Catholicism – in my humble opinion anyway.

I will leave you to your own thoughts and realizations and return to share some of my own in another post.  Until then,

Be love. Be loved.
