Cleansing Our Lens of Perception

Rainbow Heart

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”

* * *

IN CHAPTER SIX of EYE OF THE HEART Cynthia Bourgeault’s writing is, for me, the clearest and most pragmatic of all I’ve read of her writings thus far. This essay is about cleansing our “lens” of perception — not only so that we see the world, both physical and spiritual aspects, as they are; but more importantly so that we “see” ourselves as we truly are, and not as we imagine ourselves to be — the “price” of seeing clearly being the self-centered and isolated egoic self in exchange for the “Real I” as part of the greater Whole.

It’s not necessary to synthesize this chapter for the sake of brevity, as it’s already as succinct and comprehensive as it can be. I think it serves my readers best as an excerpt without interpretation or condensation. I think you will thoroughly enjoy reading and flowing with Cynthia’s stream of consciousness. (Note: you may want to refer back to my previous post when she references the various “worlds” through which we travel as we ascend in consciousness.)

IMAGINAL PURIFICATION

IN THE PAST two chapters we’ve been looking at some of the ways in which imaginal causality expresses itself in this world. Now it’s time to look a bit more closely at some of the ways in which this expression can be distorted — or in other words, areas in which some purification of the vehicle is necessary in order to ensure a greater reliability and consistency of connection.

The Sufis call this work “polishing the mirror” or “cleansing the lens of perception.” For Christian readers long accustomed to associating purification with sorrow and penance, this “housecleaning” metaphor may indeed offer a refreshing new take. In this more praxis-oriented context, the issue is not so much remorse for our moral failings (although that never drops out of the picture) as it is a deliberate effort to keep the viewing screen clear so that what falls on it is not immediately distorted by lower-order agendas.

The biggest single area of distortion lies in the tendency to drag the interpretation down to the level of magical thinking. At this level the focus is on individual “signs and wonders,” almost invariably drawn from the stock repertory. An eagle feather drops in your path, a rainbow appears in the sky, a shooting star streaks across the night sky, and suddenly you are in receipt of a personal message from God! Or perhaps you race on ahead and start filling in the pieces of the imaginal puzzle with your own imagi-nation and mental calculations. Then you are in some ways worse off than if you had never begun, conscripted to a scenario that exists only in your own head. In both cases there is a level confusion going on here, and this confusion is what will inevitably switch the message (however accurate it may have been at its initial point of impact) onto a generally unreliable track.

Who is this “I” who is receiving the message? The confusion is between two levels of consciousness, which in the classic typologies of both East and West are known as “psychic” and “subtle.” The bottom line is that imaginal causality belongs to the subtle level of consciousness; all attempts to capture it at the psychic level will lead to distortion — at best innocuous, at worst downright dangerous.

The psychic level of consciousness is that intermediate state at which a growing sensitization to transpersonal (a.k.a. “psychic”) phenomena is still firmly tied to an egoic (or narrative) self-center . . . and insofar as it does signal the initial opening of the imaginal capacities, it represents progress. But it is a very unstable place in the growth curve, and until the tension is ironed out a lot of damage can be done.

I will speak only in passing here of those more dangerous levels of magic and the occult, which happen in exactly this configuration at its extreme negative pole, i.e., a pronounced psychic capacity tied to a strong, amoral personal will. With concentrated attention and training, it is indeed possible to draw down the energy of World 24 and even World 6 to wreak havoc on this earth plane. Gurdjieff called such people “hasnamusses,” but perhaps the old term evil will serve just as well. We see them in the Hitlers, the Jim Joneses, the cult leaders run amuck, and in many more who wreak harm in a much more subtle but pervasive way (I would personally place Ayn Rand in that category): too much psychic power, too little love.

The moral inversion at work here is not only an affront to the image of our common humanity, it also badly misinterprets the nature of the higher energy itself, which appears under this filter to be simply an impersonal, amoral, “spirit in third person,” another mechanistic force to be harnessed — not, as it really is, a powerfully compassionate and coherent relational field bearing the moral heart of God. When Teilhard de Chardin insisted adamantly toward the end of his life that “God is a person, God is person,” he was not picturing an old man with a beard up in the sky. He was saying, rather, that as we proceed further and further into those luminous spheres, we encounter more and more fully the personal, radiant, tender, and intimate presence of the divine heart, which can never be relegated to an “it.” It is always a “thou,” and it pulls us inevitably toward greater thouness, the ultimate sacrifice that is love’s.

The imaginal realm properly corresponds to the subtle level of consciousness, which in turn corresponds to a different kind of selfhood. We move here necessarily from a narrative or egoic seat of selfhood to the beginnings of authentic witnessing selfhood. The concept is not well understood in Christian spiritual theology, which still tends to confuse the mythical beast of “true self” with the high egoic functioning of world 48. Witnessing selfhood is a World 24 phenomenon. That discrete sense of a personal “I” marching along a linear timeline held in place by memory and desire, gradually shifts to a larger and more unboundaried selfhood, the “wave” form of oneself, as it were.

Paying attention not to what you are but to that you are is how the anonymous medieval author of The Cloud of Unknowing summarized this fundamental shift in perspective.’ For Gurdjieff, this would be the beginning of the transition from “essence” to “Real I.” I have written extensively about this transition elsewhere, most recently in my book The Heart of Centering Prayer, so I will not elaborate further here.” But I would want to make very clear, with regard to our present concern, that imaginal causality can only be reliably read beginning at the level of witnessing selfhood and sooner or later demands that one join it at that level. The cost of admission to this new and more intense bandwidth of reality is ultimately your phenomenal self. Those things that you once thought were you — your history, your emotions, your particularities, your “descriptions” (as Beatrice Bruteau calls them) — are precisely those things offered into the refiner’s fires in order to create a being that can reliably listen and respond.

Seeing with the Eye of the Heart

In the Western Inner traditions there is a strong implicit thread that this shift to a new seat of selfhood is inextricably linked to a new operating system of perception, centered in the heart. “Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God,” said Jesus, in these words of the sixth beatitude inaugurating not only a new pathway of purification but in fact a new phenomenology of it. The heart is already implicitly identified as the seat of imaginal vision, and as the teaching gets fleshed out over the centuries, particularly in mystical Sufism, the consensus continues to build that the heart (rather than the cognitive mind, i.e., the brain) is the true organ of spiritual perception and the seat of our imaginal selfhood. . . . PURIFICATION OF THE HEART OF GOD

Over the past eighty-three years I have re-created my physical body twelve times over. With each new body a new mind was created as well, which allowed me to think anew and see anew, influenced by teachers and friends. What wasn’t created anew was my heart. Not my physical heart but my spiritual heart. That came with my spirit when I incarnated — and to the degree my mind has played its role in protecting my heart, I have retained some innocence. To the degree my mind has been self-centered and self-active, and has failed to protect it, my heart has accumulated such ill patterns as shame, guilt, and blame, to mention but a few of the many impure and disruptive feeling patterns and emotional impulses cluttering and sullying my heart’s lens of perception.

Many of these patterns were established in early childhood and during my youthful years of “exploring the field,” so-to-speak, mostly with wreckless abandon and blind disregard for how my actions may have impacted and affected those around me. Some of them came with the larger collective body of which I became a member when I incarnated. Looking back now — which can be a dangerous and even fatal exercise — patterns of regret, remorse and self-loathing crop up for release and forgiveness — literally to be given up for transmutation in the purifying fire of unconditional love.

At the end of this eighty-three-year-old tunnel, I find my Self in the Light of this New Day as inseparably part of a Body, having no isolated and insulated existence — in the presence of my LORD God, naked and unashamed, having been freed of shame and guilt in the Presence of unconditional Love. As the lens of my heart continues to be cleansed — largely under the pressure of challenging circumstances and recurring memories of past “moral failings” — I continue to participate in the purification of the Heart of Humanity, which is the Heart of God; and I relinquish all identification with the debris rising up and out of my personal field and the collective field of this Body, of which I am but one member of billions. None of it is who or what I am. I assume identity with my true Self as being one with the angelic Fire of Purification. One with Love. Love is what and who I Am. Love is what and who you are.

I know it to be the truth, for myself and for each and every one of us. We belong to One Body, outside of which we are nothing. That Body is the Body of God on Earth. So, if you think and feel that you are insignificant, a nobody, then I encourage you to let go of that isolated and insignificant self and let go to your true Self. You, as a Human Being and incarnate angel, are essential and vital to the healing and restoration of the Body of God on Earth. That’s no small and insignificant role we are privileged to play while we are on Earth.

Knowing this as truth brings with it a certain responsibility from which these is no escape. There’s work to be done — spiritual, emotional, mental as well as physical — as none of us are free of our past, personal and collective, as long as one of us is bound to it.

Let us not be “burned up” with the debris that’s on fire and disintegrating in Worlds 96 and 192. Neither let us be distraught and destroyed with it. Rather let us identify with the Fire, be one with the Spirit of Purification, whose place of presence is the Heart. Let my heart, one with the Heart of God, be purified in love’s fire so that I may see as God sees me and all the members of His Body.

We belong in Gurdjieff’s World 24 . . . in the “Kingdom of Heaven”. . . where we receive our instructions: the ordinances of heaven from the Holy Absolute in World 1, their “dominion” of which we are ordained to set in the earth and manifest Creation.

Gurdjieff’s map of the worlds may be useful in helping one see where one is currently living: in heaven or in hell . . . or perhaps in between. If you’re moving through hell, as the saying goes, remember that it’s only an illusion, so just keep moving . . . UP! Up, up and away, as the song goes. Leave the world to its own undoing, and just let love radiate through your heart without concern for results. Until my next post,

Be love. Be loved.

Transmutation Demystified, Part 5: Our Vortex Energy Field

OUR PHYSICAL BODIES, living temples that they are, live within a energy vortex field of swirling electric waves that flow counter-clockwise in an upward moving spiral that appears to be connected at an apex with an inverted torque-like energy vortex, in shape much like that of a tornado (See diagram below).

The Turkish Whirling Dervishes have a long-standing tradition that demonstrates this energy vortex dramatically. Here’s a bit of their history, including an entertaining video demonstration.

You’ve undoubtedly heard the term ‘whirling dervish’ before, but you may not be aware of the important cultural and spiritual tradition of these frenzied, spinning Turkish dancers. For outsiders, watching the Whirling Dervishes dance and spin is a breathtaking sight. For devoted members of the Mevlevi Order of Islam, however, the spinning has special significance.

A Frenzied Spinning

The best-known characteristic of a Whirling Dervish is the spinning dance called the Sema ceremony. The Dervishes wear all white long gowns with full skirts and tall hats. Seemingly tireless, the dancers can spin and whirl for hours at a time with their arms held up in the air. They assume this stance so that they are open to receive the blessings and energy from heaven. Each individual dervish spins from right to left using his own heart as a pivot point. Keeping time to the accompanying music, the dervish will rotate slowly at first, picking up speed as the music intensifies until the group of dervishes is all whirling in a fast-paced frenzy with their white gowns spinning.

Finding Sufism

The goal of the whirling or spinning is to achieve a state of Sufism. A form of Islamic mysticism, Sufism is a state of inner power and peace that allows the person to feel a deep love and connection to the rest of the world. Sufism is achieved through rituals and devote practices…one of those is dancing or spinning.

A Centuries-Old Tradition

Whirling Dervishes, as part of Sufism, is a custom that dates back more than 700 years. The Mevlevi Order of Islam was founded in 1312 in the city of Konya in Turkey. The Order was established by the devoted followers of Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi, also known as Mevlana, who was a 13th-century Islamic mystic, theologian, and accomplished Persian poet. Under the leadership of Mevlana’s son, Sultan Walad, the Mevlevi Order quickly grew and spread into surrounding cities and towns . . . . (Underscores added. Click on the link for a bit of Rumi’s history.) History Daily

Now I’ve done whirling exercises from time to time and it’s not as easy as the Sufi make it look. I think the rhythm and cadence of their music helped facilitate the dance. If you try it, make sure you do it at the foot of your bed or your reclining chair so that you can flop down on your back while your brain and visual cortex stop spinning the room around you. It’s quite dizzying at first, however I’ve not yet learned how to turn off the dizzying after-effect, so I just fall back onto the bed. It’s a lot of fun, actually, and I do feel an uptake in my energy and improvement of my balance after a few moments. I’ve read that it actually turns your ageing clock back a bit. I encourage you to try it if you haven’t done so already.

The position of the hands is significant and purposeful. The right hands of the dancers are turned palms up to receive blessings and light from heaven above and their left hands are turned palms down to extend the blessings and light of heaven into the earth. And they seem to spin within a swirling energy vortex.

A subject of regression who had been regressed to a prior incarnation during the time of Jesus, described the atmosphere around him as a vortex of swirling light energy. This piqued my interest considerably, as I have experienced my own energy field as a sphere of light during an Attunement meditation that opened up to an ecstatic experience of levitation . . . accompanied by a rush of wind and an awesome vocalized sound that raised the frequency of my body’s cells.

Quite often during Attunement times I feel a lifting up of my physical body from my heart chakra, like a skyhook suspended from a point above my head was attached to my chest. If I’m lying down on a table, my chest often rises up. On one occasion during an attunement class, the student who was offering the attunement apparently thought he was doing something wrong, so he pulled his hands away and stopped sharing the attunement. I wished he hadn’t.

In Walter Russell’s signature work THE UNIVERSAL ONE—in which he challenges the scientific community with his own table of elements and his inspired concept of the inner workings or the Universe, as well as religion with his own cosmogony and “knowledge” of God’s Creative Powers—is this passage in his NEW LAWS AND PRINCIPLES chapter: (See graph below)

132. The nearer to the axis and to the apex of the cone the greater the density, temperature, pressure, potential, power-time and all effects of electro-positive preponderance. 133. The nearer to the base of the cone the greater the tenuity, the speed time and the tendency to ionize, and the lower the temperature, pressure, potential and all effects of electro-negative preponderance. (THE UNIVRSAL ONE, page 260)

AS BELOW SO ABOVE

In my previous post I stated this principle:

What manifests and takes shape in the explicate order under the heaven reflects Life’s design for forms in the implicate order of the heaven. There is only One Law governing the Creative Process: Radiation–Response–Attraction–Union–Unified Radiation. This law governs the electric universe at all levels, including and especially at the level where Man was created to live and function at the crossover point between Heaven and Earth as co-creator with God. The substance of connection between Man and Creator is the medium through which the Tone of the Word that creates Life on Earth is propagated so as to be perceptible by Man and re-sounded in the expression of his living. That medium is the rarified substance of pheumaplasm (spirit substance).

THE SILVER CHORD

Near-Death-Experiences (NDE’s) reportedly involve travel through a silvery tunnel toward a bright light that beckons the individual soul to rise up and come closer.

I gather there is some kind of levitating force, much like that produced by a magnet, which draws the soul up into another level of consciousness and being. From this elevated level, the person observes his or her body and those surrounding it from above, then has a telepathic conversation with another being or guide about whether or not it’s time for the soul to leave the physical realm. It’s all very interesting and intriguing to think about.

What piques my interest particularly is the source of the levitating power that draws the soul upward. In my inner Mind’s eye I envision two triangular vortices of energy that join at an apex or axis, as Russell states above and diagrams below, that have a place of manifestation and focus in our bodies. That focal point is situated in the Pineal Gland located in the Golden Mean Center of the brain.

Looking at the graphic below — which I borrowed from Russell’s book and adapted to my purpose here — in your mind’s eye superimpose an image of the body temple over the lower pyramidal graphic. Where the two spiraling vortices intersect one another, there is an area where the two opposing triangles join at their bases, one pointing up and the other pointing down. The one pointing upward, in my perspective analogy, comes to point in the Pineal Gland at the 7th level of the seven endocrine glands, which are paired with seven spinning chakra vortices. (Click on image to enlarge it)

ENDOCRINE GLANDS

7 Pineal

6 Pituitary & 5 Thyroid

4 Thymus-Heart

3 Pancreas & 2 Adrenals

1 Gonads

“MASS IS ACCUMULATED AROUND A VORTEX . . . FORMED BY THE CONTRACTION OF THE AXES OF TWO OPPOSSING CONES OF ENERGY. THE GREATER THE CONTRACTION THE GREATER THE ACCELERATION OF MOTION WITHIN THE VORTEX”

Counting down from the Pineal gland, we come to the Pituitary gland at the 6th level, and below the pituitary lies the Thyroid gland in the neck. These three energy centers form an upright triangle with the Pineal focusing the Spirit of Love at the apex and the Pituitary and Thyroid glands at the two corner of the base, focusing respectively the Spirit of Truth, and the Spirit of Life.

The lower inverted triangle encompasses the Heart with the Thymus gland focusing the Spirit of Purification at the lower apex—a fiery frequency of the Spirit of Love stepped down four levels. This is the Spirit, or vibration, currently stirring in the hearts of every person on earth, incinerating what doesn’t belong in this holy place designed as a crucible for Love’s purifying and transforming fire. As my friend Chris Jorgensen described this pivotal point in my previous post:

The crossover point is the sacred place where the Radiation of Being is consciously known and shared. It is the point where Love is made visible. It is Assurance in divine Presence. The current vibration of the world is the Spirit of Purification, the crossover point—the energy, frequency and radiation of the Heart-Thymus. It is a singular point where Heaven and Earth meet.

Reference: https://attunementpractitioners.org/2022/10/07/attunement-from-the-crossover-point/

I took note of the way the Whirling Dervishes use their own hearts as pivot points around which to whirl—a significant posture to assume seeing as the heart is the true center of gravity in our sacred energy anatomy.

Below the level of the Heart center and Thymus gland are three glands in the body that manage hormonal chemistry throughout the body temple—just as the upper three glands administer the hormonal alchemy of incarnation and the ongoing conception and generation of Life in the sanctuary of the temple. The Pancreas at the 3rd level which facilitates emotional and spiritual expression and the realization of manifestation; the two Adrenal glands at the 2nd level that empower physical action and mental focus; and the Gonadal glands at the 1st level where the Spirit of the New Earth patiently fostering a sense of right expectancy. Beyond the 1st level in one’s extended world of creativity.

Based on what Russell cited above in his two principles, the higher one’s consciousness rises to the apex at the crossover point, the denser the plasma that comprises the silvery substance of the chord connecting the person with the Realms of Light, and the greater is the pressure and temperature.

THE PRESENCE OF THE ONE

I am reminded of a passage in the Old Testament that speaks of the fiery furnace being heated seven times hotter than it was wont to be heated in order to incinerate Daniel’s three friends, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego—which proved to be the right temperature to burn the shackles that bound them without burning the three friends. But greater than that was the 4th Presence seen by King Nebuchadnezzar of “one like unto the Son of Man.”

This is the Spirit of the One that dwells in the midst, the Spirit of Angelic and Archangelic Presence that cannot be touched by the fire of purification for that Spirit is Love, the very fire itself. Nor can the dense plasma of consciousness rising to the apex be touched or penetrated by what is occurring of a violent and destructive nature in the outer world. It can, however, be touched and penetrated, consumed and transmuted, by the high frequency of Love radiating from the One in the midst. What can ascend ascends, and what cannot ascend falls back down toward the less dense lower levels toward the base to participate further in the ascending cycles of the ongoing Creative Process.

“Who shall ascend unto the hill of the Lord? He that hath clean hands and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.”

I will continue in this vein in my next post. As always, I welcome your thoughts on what I have presented. Until my next post,

Be love. Be loved.

The Heart: Door to the Garden

    The Heart Nebula

“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” (Jesus, Luke 11:9)

I will start this post with words by Martin Exeter that are part of an excerpt I used in my previous post:

The Garden is so close that we cannot in fact get out of it, and yet we don’t know it is there. We don’t know it is there because there is this veil, or I suppose it might be called a transformer, in between, which steps down the Garden Radiation to something that human beings can stand in their murky state.

That transformer is the impure heart of humanity, filled with the residue of past failures to repent, turn around and see that the Kingdom is truly at hand.  That heart is the very portal to the Garden, the entrance to the Kingdom of Heaven within.  How can one enter through this door, or even find one’s way to the door, what with all the stuff in the heart obscuring the way in?  Well, the answer is simple: Seek.  How does one open the door?  Knock.  How is one allowed to enter? Ask.  When the door opens, what one finds is that one has always been in the Garden, as Martin said, but didn’t know it for all the dense and cloudy heart substance that obscured one’s perception of the Garden.  As he put it, the impure heart steps down the Garden Radiation so that fallen man can live in his murky state.  The heart needs to be made pure so the radiation can shine through the heart into the world.  How does one purify one’s heart?  By allowing the purifying waters of the truth of love to flow through it.

Using your imagination for a moment, imagine a glass full of dirty water.  Now place that glass of dirty water in the sink and run a steady stream of water into the glass so that it overflows.  The dirty water begins to be replaced by the clear water from the faucet.  Eventually there is more clear water than dirty water in the glass so that clear water begins to spill out over the rim of the glass.  Magically, the glass is soon full of pure water.  The heart is purified by letting the pure river of Life flow through it.   By giving expression to love and all its qualities: patience, gratitude, compassion, kindness, generosity, forbearance, acceptance, forgiveness.  This is the only way the heart is purified.

There’s a passage in the Old Testament that speaks to this:

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you a window of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. (Malachi 3:10)

This speaks to the First Great Commandment: “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all of thy heart, and with all of they mind, and with all of thy strength.” Nothing withheld, “all the tithe.”  And the blessing will pour out from the house of the Lord — blessing to you and blessing as you.  You receive blessings and you are the blessing poured out by the Lord of host to his world, your world.  The implication here is that the windows of heaven are opened from within by the Lord of hosts. Likewise, the door to the kingdom of heaven within is opened from within by the lord of the house incarnate to pour out blessings through the heart by how I express love, through the mind by what I think and say, and through the body by what I do in service to others and to my world.

IT’S ABOUT RESONANCE WITH THE TONE

What we resonate with when someone speaks is the tone of a person’s voice while we do our best to hear what they are saying.  Sometimes the tone drowns out the words spoken.  What is the tone of gratitude compared to the tone of resentment, for example?  It’s sweet and uplifting, isn’t it?  No matter how justified a resentful attitude may be, the sound of it is draining and depressing.  This is because the tone of resentment is not resonant with the tone of love and therefore disconnects one from the integrating and uplifting power the permeates the Universe.  Gratitude, on the other hand, connects one with the integrating power of love that permeates the Universe.  It also dissipates the lower vibrational patterns in the heart, such as fear, shame and resentment, thereby cleansing the heart of dissonant and dissipating feelings and attitudes.  I will bring back an excerpt of Martin Exeter’s quoted in a previous post where he speaks to this cleansing:

“What is it that makes possible the cleansing of the heart? It isn’t anything that the mental apparatus of human beings can do. There is a means by which the heart may be purified. Fundamentally that means comes by reason of the sounding of the tone. This requires that the tone be sounded within the range of the substance of human minds and hearts. This process was described as the angels being sent forth with a great sound of a trumpet. If the impurities of heart can just be shuffled to one side sufficiently for the moment, there is the experience of that tone and love for the tone, the sound of the trumpet, and love for the source from which that tone proceeds. When that is greater than anything else, the human heart may be purified, purified by whatever this tone is.

Resonance is a somewhat tenuous feeling-guide. Just because something someone says “feels right” doesn’t necessarily make it true and resonant with the truth of love, nor with one’s authentic Self.  It may just be striking a resonant chord in one’s heart or mind — a sympathetic feeling or a pet belief — rather then a chord of truth and love at the core of one’s being.  Or it may just be filling a void in one’s heart, or enlightening an area of darkened understanding in one’s mind.  The saying “That strikes a chord in me” can be honestly questioned and critically considered for its depth of resonance.  If it triggers an emotional reaction or knee-jerk response, it is likely a shallow chord.  When it causes one to pause and listen deeply, bringing a sense of accord and deep stillness with no impulse to react verbally, then it is very likely a chord in the fabric of one’s being.

“DELIBERATELY THANKFUL”

There’s a saying in the Scriptures “In all things give thanks.”  This is easy to do when things are going our way and when blessings are being bestowed upon us.  It isn’t so easy when things are not going our way and when disaster strikes in one form or another; especially when it strikes home personally.  “Oh my, why is this happening to me? What did I do to deserve this?” It’s easy to see it as a disaster rather than as an opportunity for the Sprit of God to move through us in order to bring about change and something good.  In the excerpt below Martin Exeter offers a reason for being “deliberately thankful” that is worthy of consideration:

An opportunity is being offered for the easy movement of the spirit of God in our experience. That easy movement will be known when we are thankful, and here is the evidence then of the beauty and the joy that is natural when the spirit of God is being experienced in expression. There is nothing more wonderful than that experience. Whatever blocks the spirit of God may run into, of which we become aware in our own field of experience, in our own worlds—we become aware of these things because obviously there is a lot of resistance in the world to the movement of the spirit of God—the spirit of God is going to move anyway, whether anyone likes it or not. It has been doing this for millennia. It has been doing it always, as far as that is concerned. But within the experience of resistant human beings the spirit of God has been moving, and in that movement it has produced a certain amount of enjoyment for human beings who are not resisting it at the moment; it has produced a good deal of discomfort and a great deal of pain for those who were resisting it. This is true of everybody from time to time presumably. But we are thankful for the movement of the spirit of God, no matter what it produces, because it is the spirit of God for which we are responsible in order to permit the re-creation that is to occur. So regardless of the results that may appear in any particular experience, we know that those results are there because of the movement of the spirit of God and we are thankful for that movement; not for the results necessarily, but we are thankful in a way for those too because here is the evidence of the movement of the spirit of God. It is what should be happening; even if it is painful it is what should be happening.

So we accept naturally the movement that occurs and we have a sense of thankfulness for it. There is no other reason for our being present on earth except to participate in the movement of the spirit of God into expression. We are thankful for that movement, and we are thankful therefore for the results that occur by reason of that movement, even if it may be a disastrous result from the human standpoint, even if it may be a painful result. You may say, “Well if that pain is my pain, how can I be thankful for that? It may be easier with someone else’s suffering over there.” You are thankful that the spirit of God is moving. Do you think that is a possible attitude to assume? We’d better assume it because this is the only way that we can sustain and maintain our connection, establish it to start with, and sustain and maintain our connection with that fine substance through which the spirit of God is moving freely. We are associated then with that free movement and we will find that it keeps moving on further out, producing whatever result will naturally occur by reason of the attitudes and the actions, the behavior, of people all around. If disaster comes, praise the Lord! That’s what should come.

Disaster is coming thick and fast these days.  How can one be thankful with all the pain and suffering in the world?  I personally feel a great deal of compassion for those suffering and dying — though death puts one “in a better place,” as we sometimes say.  One has to rise above it all and adopt the attitude that there is a reason and a purpose for everything that happens under heaven.  It is obvious that the lifestyle we humans have chosen and the world we’ve created need to be allowed to pass away to give room for something new and sustainable, even heavenly.

The winds of change blow fiercely over the entire planet, evidence of the Spirit of God moving upon the face of the waters.  Wind-driven fires and waters wreak havoc in people’s lives, bringing about change.  “Give thanks to the Lord, oh my soul, for his mercy endureth forever.”  The Lord of Creation shows great mercy in bringing an end to the murky state of human existence and taking mankind our of its misery.  “Behold I create at new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and old earth are passed away.”  Praise the Lord and give thanks in and for all of it.  Until my next post,

Be love. Be loved.

New Jerusalem: City of Peace

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
there is a field. I’ll meet you there.

When the soul lies down in that grass,
the world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase ‘each other’
doesn’t make any sense.

THIS POEM BY THIRTEETH CENTURY SUFI MYSTIC and great Persian poet, Jalāl ad-Dīn Muḥammad Rumi, has been circulating for several years.  I’ve given it consideration over the past several months and have come to see and experience this “field” of Rumi’s not so much as a place to go as a place one cannot leave.  It’s the eternal here and now.  It’s where I live and have my being. The Master Jesus called it “the Kingdom of Heaven.” In Genesis it’s called Eden, a garden state, indicating a realm where seeds of intention are planted, nurtured and germinate.  David Bohm calls it the “implicate order” of vibrational essences and patterns for manifesting forms in the “explicate order.” Episcopal priest and mystical author Cynthia Bourgeault describes this field as the “imaginal realm.” In a word, Rumi’s “field” is at the Center of my turning world were I AM known.  A place of absolute silence and tranquility where “nothing is wrong; everything matters,” to borrow a wise saw from a friend.

A NEW JERUSALEM

While in an elevated Field of the Spirit, John of Revelation had a vision which he describes as a “new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven.”

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away, and there was no more sea.  And I John saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.  (Rev 21:1)

Recently I heard this field of Rumi’s described as the realm of the “Source Code” where the patterns of creation for the “new Jerusalem” are held and made available for downloading, to use a tech term, into human consciousness.  I resonate with this perspective . . . up to the point of interpretation.

This is a field, as Rumi described, where judgement of right and wrong is utterly non-existent.  Where the design for the New Earth, the new Jerusalem, is held inviolate and out of sight of the judgmental human mind.  The old Jerusalem doesn’t qualify for inclusion in Rumi’s field, burdened as it is with the “Law of Moses” and a slew of Old Testament laws detailing all the “wrongdoings and rightdoings” for the Jewish people.

The design for the new Jerusalem comes down from God out of Heaven into the pure and peaceful heart where it can be nurtured and protected.  This relates to what is occurring NOW everywhere, and not to any particular sect or religion, such as the Jews, Muslims or Christians, all three of which occupy the old Jerusalem, the “Holy City.”  They’ve all been given their opportunities and failed utterly to show people the Way by which they may enter the kingdom of heaven now without having to die in order to go there . . . they themselves failed to enter in.

This is in no way intended to be anti-Semitic, anti-Christian or anti-Muslim.  It’s just what is and has been all down through the ages.  I have nothing against the Jews, the Muslims, or the Christians.  My discomfort lies in the interpretation of the passage in Revelation in which John sees in a vision “the new Jerusalem” coming down from God out of heaven.  To explore and uncover what’s warranting my discomfort, I have given a lot of meditative time to the meaning of the world “Jerusalem” itself.

JERUSALEM, MELCHIZEDEK AND SHEM

Jerusalem. A holy city for Jews, Christians, and Muslims; the capital of the ancient kingdom of Judah and of the modern state of Israel. The name means “city of peace.” Jerusalem is often called Zion; Mount Zion is the hill on which the fortress of the city was built.  (Wikipedia)

The word Salem means peaceful and complete.  It was the “Holy City” in ancient Hebrew history where the temple of Jerusalem was located, and where “Melchizedek” reigned as High Priest and “King of righteousness.” For Christians, Jerusalem is also the place where Jesus preached, died and was resurrected. Many also see the city as central to an imminent Second Coming of Jesus. Jerusalem is now a major pilgrimage site for Christians from around the world.  For Muslims, Jerusalem is a site of key events in the life of Jesus and other important figures. It’s also the spot where, according to traditional interpretations of the Koran and other texts, the prophet Muhammad ascended to heaven. Mohammed was carried from Mecca to Jerusalem, and then from Jerusalem into the heavens, where he conversed with prophets before returning to earth. For more than 1,300 years, there have been Muslim shrines in Jerusalem. (Washington Post)

A SHIFT OF THE PRIESTHOOD

There was a shift from the Levite priesthood of Abraham’s day to the priesthood of Melchizedek, the title “Priest of the Most High God” that Shem inherited from Noah, his father.  Here’s a bit of history about this shift:

Psalm 110, in referring to a future messiah of the Davidic line, alludes to the priest-king Melchizedek as a prototype of this messiah. This allusion led the author of the Letter to the Hebrews in the New Testament to translate the name Melchizedek as “king of righteousness” and Salem as “peace” so that Melchizedek is made to foreshadow Christ, stated to be the true king of righteousness and peace (Hebrews 7:2). According to the analogy, just as Abraham, the ancestor of the Levites, paid a tithe to Melchizedek and was therefore his inferior, so the Melchizedek-like priesthood of Christ is superior to that of the Levites. Furthermore, just as the Old Testament assigns no birth or death date to Melchizedek, so is the priesthood of Christ eternal.  (Wikipedia)

ORIGIN AND HISTORY OF THE PRIESTHOOD

After the “Fall” when man lost conscious awareness of the Garden State in which he was created in God’s image and likeness, and the Presence of the Creator in the Garden, there arose a need for an intercessor, a go-between, to represent and speak for God in man’s fallen state.  The priesthood was that intercessor between God and man and between man and his Creator.  Adam was the first “Priest of the Most High God.” The priesthood came down through Adam’s lineage and was passed on to Noah, whose eldest son Shem (or Melchizedek) was High Priest in the temple at Salem.  Shem and Melchizedek may be one and the same, as Melchizedek is thought not to be the name of an individual but rather a “High Order” of the priesthood; a title given to the “Priest of the Most High God,” or simply High Priest.

Shem inherited the land of Salem and Melchizedek [Shem] is the king of Salem.  Shem reigned in righteousness (Melchizedek’s name means King of Righteousness), and the priesthood came through him. If Shem is indeed Melchizedek, the name is then used as a title, not an actual name. This title would seem to fit the biblical account of the Godliness and righteousness ascribed to Shem.  Shem, Noah’s Son that was still alive at the time of Abraham and that would make him the oldest man alive qualifying him as a candidate for the order of Melchizedek

Melchizedek, also spelled  Melchisedech, in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament), a figure of importance in biblical tradition because he was both king and [high] priest, was connected with Jerusalem, and was revered by Abraham, who paid a tithe to him. He appears as a person only in an interpolated vignette (Genesis 14:18–20) of the story of Abraham rescuing his kidnapped nephew, Lot, by defeating a coalition of Mesopotamian kings under Chedorlaomer.

In the episode, Melchizedek [Shem] meets Abraham on his return from battle, gives him bread and wine (which has been interpreted by some Christian scholars as a precursor of the Eucharist, so that Melchizedek’s name entered the canon of the Roman mass), and blesses Abraham in the name of “God Most High” (in Hebrew El ʿElyon).  In return, Abraham gives him a tithe of the booty.  (https://www.britannica.com/biography/Melchizedek)

THE OLD ORDER HAS PASSED AWAY

Another translation of the phrase “for the former things are passed away” is “for the old order of things has passed away.”  The old order of the Levite priesthood has passed away and the new priesthood, according to the order of Melchizedek, characterized by the sharing of communion with bread and wine, had been established on earth by the Lord of Love himself during the “Last Supper” with his disciples before his crucifixion.  His one and only message in the form of a commandment was that we love the Lord our God with all, and that we love our neighbor as ourselves.  Another way he phrased his commandment was “That ye love one another as I have loved you.” He did not establish a religion with a plethora of laws.  In fact he cautioned against making any more laws than the ones he had given, lest they keep one from doing the right and fitting thing in the circumstance at hand.  The Jewish religion, of course, rejects Jesus altogether as the promised messiah, which means it also rejects the entire New Testament of the Bible, including John’s Book of Revelation . . . so the point of this blog post carries little weight if any for anyone who embraces the beliefs, and denials, of Judaism.  This denial does not dismiss the truth that the old order of things in heaven and on earth pass away to give room for the new order.

CITY OF PEACE

The “new Jerusalem” is none other that the New Earth now being born from out of the New Heaven, and it is designed by God to be a “City of Peace.”  We have entered a new Golden Age wherein peace and love will abide and flourish in the hearts of human beings and spill over into the world — and there will be no need for an intervening priesthood as the conscious awareness of God’s presence within every man and woman will be restored and man will awaken to the realization that he has direct access to God within himself.  This awakening is already happening.

Those who insist on holding onto the belief that the new Jerusalem is to be an earthly city or nation governed by a religious sect are not in position to see the City of Peace in the Heaven and therefore exclude themselves from participating in the birthing process of the “new Jerusalem.” Contention and war are not possible in this City of Peace, neither is isolation, superiority, entitlement and exclusion of others.

Our Home among the stars

“THE HEAVEN OF THS EARTH IS A CITY IN A STAR”

The City of Peace is the Garden of Eden remembered once again by Man restored.  It’s a “CITY IN A STAR” as my spiritual mentor, the late Martin Exeter, describes here below. Here is an expanded perspective of the Garden of Eden from an cosmic point of view:

The Garden is so close that we cannot in fact get out of it, and yet we don’t know it is there. We don’t know it is there because there is this veil, or I suppose it might be called a transformer, in between, which steps down the Garden Radiation to something that human beings can stand in their murky state. And it is because of this that they have continued to exist and that the potential for a return to the true state has been present. It is present because life is still in the carcass of mankind. I suppose if one were to use one’s imagination a little one might recognize that the heaven of this earth is a City in the Star. It was called the Holy City, wasn’t it, coming down from God out of heaven to take form. We may have a view of something rather vast, at least from the standpoint of human proportions: a mighty star which is composed of heaven and earth. It is all one thing. In the United States there are many cities but it is still one nation. In this star there are many cities but it is still One Star, something whole. Of course that is not the end of the wholeness either, as far as that is concerned, but it is about as far as we need to go this evening, I think.    (The Great Cosmic Story  To enjoy this entire enlightening consideration, simply click on the link)

This City is poised to fully manifest on Earth, and it will be painful for those who resist the purification of their hearts in the fire of Love that is already burning in the hearts of men and women the world over.  It will be cause for rejoicing for those who dwell in heaven.  The “sign of the Son of Man” already appears in the clouds of heaven, in the consciousness of Man now being restored.  Look not down to see where the new Jerusalem might appear, nor where one may believe it will appear, nor where Jesus might return.  Look up into the clouds of consciousness and see and welcome the City of Peace already descending.

Angels are uncloaking their radiant beings and apocalyptic light is shining in the dark shadows of Eden.  Rumi’s “field”— the kingdom of heaven — the new Jerusalem — the City of Peace — the City in our Star — are all at hand within and all around us.  The pure of heart see God in the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth.  Let not your heart be troubled. Let it be purified in the fire of Love — love for the Lord our God and love for one another.  Be at peace.  This is what is at hand. . . and shall be henceforth.

Laying the Foundations of the Earth: A Sonic Event

The Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters, and God spoke the Word: “Let there be light.” And with that Tone, the heavenly hosts of angels joined the Creator in singing the Universe into being.

“Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me: Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare if thou hast understanding. Who hast laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the cornerstone thereof; When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? . . . Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? Canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?”   (Job 38:3-7,33)

THE MUSIC OF THE SPHERES

By the tone of the words above — my favorite passages from the Book of Job — we are expected, even demanded, to know the answer to the questions “Where wast thou?” and “Knowest thou?”  Apparently, Man was there, along with heavenly hosts, and participated with the angels in laying the foundations of the Earth.  Do you have a haunting memory of being there?  I do, and a few others I am aware of who have awakened to their angelic presence in heaven . . . and begun listening to and interpreting “frequencies from another dimension,” as David Bohm describes the function of our holographic brains in a holographic universe.

We are being drawn by Love back to a remembrance of our spiritual and vibrational foundation where alone we know we have been with God since the beginning and know well the ordinances of heaven and how to set their dominion in the earth; first the earth of our physical bodies, and then the planet upon which we have incarnated.  We are beginning to remember, as the Spirit of Truth is recalling all things to remembrance.  We are beginning to know and know that we know.

There’s a prevailing sense of being in and knowing a grander and vaster world than planet Earth and having been a participant in it since the foundations of the Earth were laid in the Heaven and the dominion of the ordinances set in the earth — when we were given charge over Creation, “dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”  That dominion was to be exercised from our intended place in the heaven, where original Man was created in the image and after the likeness of the Creator.  We have temporarily lost that dominion and have become subject and prey to the wild kingdoms of the natural world.  It’s time to remember who we are and from whence we have fallen; time to return to a remembrance of our foundation in the heaven.

VIBRATIONAL FOUNDATION

When we think of foundations we commonly think of the underpinnings of buildings. This is so in the material world of analogous form.  In Bohm’s immaterial “implicate order,” the foundations of forms in the material “explicate order” are in the heaven above the earth — “a realm of meaningful, patterned primary reality that transcends space and time.”  As we set about creating the New Earth together, it may be helpful to revisit the Creation story in the Book of Genesis and consider the protocols in the unfolding Creative Process — for there’s only one Creative Process and only one way creation unfolds.  It moves in cycles from Radiation to Response to Attraction which leads to Union and completes itself in Unified Radiation.  This is my current meditation, which I am delighted to share in this post.

If you recall, in the Book of Genesis it is said that in the beginning “God created the heaven and the earth.” The heaven was created first, and in the heaven God created and established the ordinances for the foundations of the earth, the vibrational patterns for the earth.  In the quantum world of pure energy, this is creation in its invisible wave form before energy and light waves collapse and become particles.

CYMATICS: SHAPING MATTER WITH SOUND VIBRATIONS

A graphic portrayal of the vibrational nature of the Creative Process can perhaps best be understood in the context of the science of Cymatics where invisible sound waves create images and visible shapes in sand, or lycopodium and other responsive mater, such as the surface of water.  (In the implicate order, sound is of course inaudible.) Enjoy this 9.25-minute video for an educational and entertaining demonstration.

Here are cymatic images of the human voice

Here are the Cymatic images of 12 piano notes. Each note, when intoned, shapes hallowed space according to its own unique tone and resultant overtones and undertones.  Creation thus blossoms in its myriad and diverse shapes and colors.

John Stuart Reid on the vibrational foundation of life (2.30 video)

IN THE BEGINNING GOD

This hexagon storm pattern on Saturn’s North pole is likely created by sound.

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.  And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.  And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.  And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.  And God called the light Day and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. (Gen 1:1-5)

I will consider a few of the implications in this passage.  The first implication is that the God of Creation, designated as “he,” employed the energy of the Divine Masculine, a magnetic force field, in drawing together the various vibrational essences and lines of force in setting the Creative Process in motion, the initiating power being positive action or radiation.  Having both “male and female” creating energies available, here God is in his masculine role as Creator — Brahma of Hinduism.  God, who is Love, is always in the beginning of the Creative Process.

A second implication is that there were “waters” already in existence upon which the Spirit of God moved. These waters may be known as the waters of consciousness; in this instance the Consciousness of the Creator.  Also, water is the symbol of truth, the provision of design and control in the developing process.  Water is also the first of the Four Forces of creation and comes at the beginning of a Creative Process.  Air is the second Force, which in this event is the Spirit of God in motion, like the wind, moving upon the face of the waters.

A third implication is that sound was used by the Creator to speak light into existence: “And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters; and God said, Let there be light.” When the Spirit of God, Love, moves upon the face of the waters of our consciousness, light is created and shines into the darkness.

A fourth aspect of this creative action worth noting is in the creative command “Let,” a word used to manifest form in every phase in the cycles of creation.  “Let there be light . . . Let there be a firmament . . . Let the dry land appear.” Letting the Creative Process unfold naturally is always the path forward in life.

A fifth and peculiar implication is the order in which morning follows evening in a creative day: “And the evening and the morning were the first day.”  This implies that the day begins at high noon and not a midnight.  In our  earthly perspective, evening follows morning and the day begins at midnight.  Of course one of God’s creative days is much longer than twenty-four hours; more like tens-of-thousands of earth years.

In a wholistic and holographic model and context, this is very important for us to be aware of, for in the evening we set the tone and the heaven for the new day; we plant the vibrational seeds of intention that gestate in our consciousness as we sleep and blossom as sunrise starts a new day. This is particularly significant for those who live on the West Coast of the Americas and other continents; but it applies to all of us as sunset approaches each evening.  All this emphasizes the connections we have in this living entity we call Home among the stars with one another in the one body of humanity, the Body of God on Earth, and with the Earth itself.  We are One Entity.

THE MORNING STARS WITH THE SONS OF GOD

The last line of the passage from the Book of Job at the top speaks of a most significant event:  “When the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy.” What a beautiful and harmonious image these words portray.  “Morning Star” is one of the names given to the angel Lucifer — also called “Son of the Morning” and “Bearer of the Light.” Apparently, there are a host of morning stars, of light bearers. They came with the creation of Light.  They are described here as singing together — and the sons of God as shouting for joy.  We know something of this today as angels awaken their human consciousness to what is already present and provided for by our Creator.  I may not be shouting for joy outwardly.  But in my heart I am shouting for joy in the awakening occurring all over the earth — also in knowing that we are encompassed by the angelic hosts of Heaven who are watching over us with love and protective care.

All this to say that sound, music, singing and joyful shouting were all involved in the Creation of the World.  This implies the sounding of a Tone, Gabriel’s trumpet perhaps.  As we saw in the Cymatics demonstration, sound has a way of bringing order and design out of chaos and confusion.  The Tone of Love is a clarifying sound and a purifying fire that cleanses the heart to make room for knowing the ordinances of heaven and our angelic presence in the world.  These words by my spiritual mentor, the late Lord Martin Exeter are germane to the process of purification:

As my heart is purified by my love for the tone and delight in sounding the tone of love in my living, rare and refined substance of spirit, described as pneumaplasm, begins to fill the imaginal realm of the heart and ascend upward into the heaven, the invisible realm of primary reality. Pneumaplasm is very sensitive and impressionable by high frequency vibrations. Images begin to make their impressions in the pneumaplasm. We begin to see and to know the vibrational ordinances of heaven and learn how to set their dominion in the earth.

Purification of the heart, the imaginal realm where the things of Spirit can emerge from out of heaven and be perceived and known in consciousness, is the first step.  “Rejoice ye heavens and ye that dwell in them.”

We could do with a lot of rejoicing right now in this vale of mounting tears we call our Home among the vast Universe of stars and galaxies.  Especially as we set about letting the New Earth appear from out of the New Heaven.  I’ll leave you to explore and interpret the implications of these biblical passages . . . as well as my thoughts herein expressed and shared with all.  I would love to share your thoughts by email, or in the comment section.  Until my next post,

Getting Back To Paradise, part 1: Purification First

“It may be that some little root of the sacred tree still lives. Nourish it then, that it may leaf and bloom and fill with singing birds.”  Black Elk

In the quiet stillness of these times, I will continue sharing my current stream of thought around the theme of “Paradise Remembered.” In this post I revisit Richard Heinberg’s MEMORIES and VISIONS of PARADISE to start bringing this series to a positive finale, starting with this promising passage:

A new Paradise awaits, but humanity must first undergo a cathartic cleansing. Few prophets have looked beyond the day of Purification to describe the events of the restored Golden Age, for the world to come will be inconceivable in terms of the present one. With the return of Paradise, history — as a chronicle of wars and intrigue, of plots and villains — will be finished. Humanity and Nature, Heaven and Earth will once more be joined in peace and harmony as a new Creation-Time begins.

PURIFICATION OF THE HEART

In the biblical story of the Fall, an angel with a flaming sword was placed at the entrance to Eden guarding the way to the Tree of Life, lest fallen Man partake of its fruit and live forever in his fallen state.  The angel represents the ONE I AM; the sword represents TRUTH; the fire represents the purifying SPIRIT OF LOVE. The story, of course, is a metaphor indicating that in order to return to Eden, we must pass through the fire of purification and prove that we can be true to the Truth of Love, true to our true Self.

The first order of business is the cleansing of the heart, especially of immune-crippling fear and shame. Buried deeply in the heart of humanity are fearful memories of a cataclysmic past in which the human race and all living things were nearly and literally wiped off the face of the earth, such as what occurred in the days of Noah with the Deluge.  We carry shame in our hearts for having brought this calamity, and all those that followed, upon our own heads by forgetting to live by the Law of One, and fear that calamity will happen again. It was said, however, that the Creator would not destroy the world again by water, and that this generation is “reserved unto fire.” What are some of the implications of this prophecy, and by what possible means would such a fiery cleansing take place?

THE CREATING PROCESS

In addressing these questions, I turn to a consideration of the Creative Process in which matter is drawn together for a season and then undone and recycled for future creative purposes.  Integration is an equal partner to dis-integration in this process—and their cycles run concurrently, only integration tends to be a bit more subtle, and dis-integration tends to gain a lot more attention.

As examples: devastating forest fires make news headlines, while new growth in their wake receives little if any media coverage.  Plagues, like the current pandemic, devastate our sense of security, along with the human population — although to little extent compared to the 1.4% current population growth rate — and the daily death toll makes leading story for the morning news. On the other end of the population spectrum, we’re less likely to see announcements of new births in our daily newspaper as we see obituaries.

Ironically, while we all celebrate new births with congratulatory sentiment, we may harbor reservations about the wisdom of bringing a child into this turbulent and overpopulated world.  We are, after all, leaving our children a mess to clean up.  My concern for our grandchildren is that they will suffer painful hardship in the collapse of this un-civilized world—and I don’t think there’s any doubt remaining that this will come to pass, if not in our lifetime, in theirs.

On our walk a few days ago we met up with a young friend who, with his wife, have agreed not to have children and bring more human beings into this world. Such conscious thinking and wisdom are exemplary.

As a species, we do need to curb population growth, and the starting place is with individuals.  Family-planning is essential, with conception-and-birth control taking precedence over abortion.  For those who do not wish to bring more children into the world, adoption is a beautiful way to fulfill a couple’s desire to have children and a family. If we the people do not take this matter into our hands, the powers that be, that manipulate the masses for profit, will do it in ways that are ungodly and do irreversible damage to the genetics of our species.

Dan Brown’s INFERNO may be fiction, but the reduction of the human population by means of a viral epidemic, or vaccinations, has been conceived in human consciousness, the matrix in which the patterns of human civilization are set, and out of which our world is born. That said, let us not energize that conception by focusing our mental judgments on it, nor on those “evil-doers out there,” lest the conceived possibility take on a life of its own and become our-worst-fears-realized.

The creating processes of integration and disintegration are unfolding continually.  The question I pose is this: “Is there a ‘critical mass’ in place on earth sufficient to move the Creating Process in a more dominantly integrative direction?”  I sense that we’re getting there, if we’re not there already.

FOUR WORLD AGES COME AND GO

Historically, ages end with cataclysmic events. According to the Ancients, there have been four Ages in our history.  Richard Heinberg cites them:

World Ages

If the magical landscape fixes Paradise in space, its position in time is defined by its placement at the beginning of a series of world ages. We have already noted the Greek and Hindu conceptions of the ages or yugas of the world, respectively; there are also close parallels among other cultures. The Iranians, for example, knew four cosmic ages that, in a lost Mazdaean book, the Sudkar~nask, are referred to as the ages of gold, silver, steel, and “mixed with iron.” In the Iranian conception, as in the Greek and Hindu, each age is a step in the world’s deterioration, a process that is leading to a final apocalyptic cleansing.”

The Mayans counted their world ages as consecutive Suns — Water Sun, Earthquake Sun, Hurricane Sun, and Fire Sun — according to the nature of the catastrophe that closed the epoch. The Hopi also spoke of four worlds — Tokpela, Tokpa, Kuskurza, and Tuwaquchi — the first of which is described in paradisal terms.  Following their creation in the Tokpela world, the first people went their directions, were happy, and began to multiply. With the pristine wisdom granted them, they understood that the earth was a living entity like themselves. She was their mother; they were made from her flesh …. In their wisdom they also knew their father in two aspects. He was the Sun, the solar god of their universe …. Yet his was but the face through which looked Taiowa, their creator …. These universal entities were their real parents, their human parents being but the instruments through which their power was made manifest . . . . .

THE END OF A WORLD AGE

We are the generation to see the end of the “mixed-with-iron” age and the beginning of the “Information Age”– the age of “Artificial Intelligence” or “AI.” That has such a foreboding sound to it.  Are we actually relegating our intelligence to the computer?  Sounds like a final step downward in the devolution of our species — from spiritual beings who had access to all knowledge — past, present and future — down to the level of these animal bodies with brains that have limited vision, and down further yet to the mineral kingdom where we hand over our “intelligence” to a computer silicon chip in which our vision and view of reality is determined by “data” rather than spiritual discernment.

Returning to the question I posed earlier, by what possible means will this generation be cleansed by fire? Heinberg speaks to this question in the final chapters of his book. I will conclude with these excerpts in two or three posts.

To Get Back to the Garden

EDENIC CONSCIOUSNESS MAY BE RECOVERABLE by individuals in rare moments of spiritual insight. Perhaps nearly everyone glimpses Paradise at some instant during his or her lifetime. But is it also possible for all of us together to live in the Garden once again — to return and stay? This final chapter will offer two reasons for thinking that it is possible. We will see, moreover, how signs of strain and disintegration in the foundations of our present civilization, together with some intriguing developments at the growing tips of society, suggest that a new Golden Age may already be struggling to be born.

The Attainability of Paradise

The evidence of anthropology and archaeology may not prove (though it certainly does not deny) the former existence of a Golden Age — that is, of a unitary culture in which people were universally and continually telepathic, lived close to Nature, and possessed miraculous powers. But, as we saw in chapter 8, anthropological and archaeological discoveries have shown, almost beyond a doubt, that two of the most destructive aspects of civilization (the use and justification of violence as a means of social change, and the desire for dominance over other human beings and over Nature) were acquired only recently. The findings of archaeologists show that in the past human beings did live — and therefore in principle are capable of living — in peace and harmony both among themselves and with Nature.

Moreover, the evidence of psychology suggests not only that a subjective condition of oneness, peace, and innocence is attainable, but also that it is the natural and healthy mode of human consciousness. If the human body functions best in the absence of the ego-states of blame, fear, and resentment (as medical experiments show that it does), then the fact that we are living in an ego-based world, in which Paradise is the exceptional experience, must therefore be an unusual and temporary state of affairs.

If we were able to live in Paradise once, we ought to be able to do so again. And if the most natural and healthy way of life available to human beings is defined by the expression of the essential paradisal qualities of character and the subsequent experience of universal harmony, then what is natural should in principle also be attainable. In short, we may be designed to live in Paradise.

Why, then, do we routinely assume that Paradise is beyond our reach? Perhaps it is partly because we have an unrealistic concept of what that state is or should be. We tend to think of Paradise as a place or time in which all human desires are satisfied; since people’s desires tend to conflict, we therefore assume that Paradise could never actually exist. But the Paradise of myth and vision is not a state in which conflicting personal desires are somehow all fulfilled. Rather, it is one in which all human desires and motives are completely subsumed within a larger creative purpose. If individual desires are satisfied in Paradise, this is only because it is the overwhelming desire of all individuals that the consummate accord of Nature and Cosmos be nourished and maintained.

The inhabitants of Paradise — whether in myths of the First Age or in near-death visions — are universally characterized by their expression of specific values and qualities of character. And, as Aldous Huxley (among others) has shown, a comparative study of the religions of the world reveals that these values and qualities — honesty, compassion, and love — are universal and innate. Whether it was a historical reality or not, Paradise exists in the eternal present as an image expressing our deepest sense of what is right and true about ourselves.

Looked at in this way, Paradise may be seen as serving a specific function, as a design for living embedded in the circuitry of human consciousness. All biological organisms, including human beings, contain elements of design. We know, for example, that the pattern of the DNA molecules in our cells governs the basic design of our physical bodies. Perhaps we also contain within us a neurological or psychic program for the optimal design of social and spiritual relations between ourselves, the Cosmos, and Nature — a design of telepathic oneness and interspecies communion that represents the goal toward which our individual and collective experience would naturally tend to unfold.

Provided there are no significant interferences, the design inherent in the DNA molecules in our cells is expressed automatically and accurately in the formation of our physical bodies. Perhaps the same is potentially true of the neurological design of Paradise: provided its expression is not blocked, the pattern of oneness with the universal currents of life, as well as of miraculous abilities, should be automatically and accurately reflected in our ordinary experience.

At present, however, it is not. As we have seen, nearly all of the world’s spiritual traditions agree that the innate paradisal design is being thwarted in its expression by certain now-universal patterns of attitude, thought, and behavior.

Could it be that simple?  Could Paradise be, as Scott Peck imaged, A World Waiting To Be Born ?  Awaiting our expression of it?  Of its Spirit?  Is the “fire” unto which this generation is reserved the fire of Spirit in expression through us?  The spirit of love, of truth and of life?  Energetically, cosmic conditions are just right for the birth of a new world and a new human race, with our conscious participation as “spiritual midwives,” as we travel with the planet and solar system, at breakneck speed, into uncharted waters in space.  Our once clouded vision is clarifying and expanding to encompass the image of a Golden Age coming down from God out of a New Heaven manifesting a New Earth.  Let us welcome it with joy and celebration.

Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. For lo the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land. . . .  Make haste, my beloved, and be thou like to a roe or to a young hart upon the mountains of spices. (Song of Solomon

The Teacher taught that fear is cast out of the heart by “perfect love”— unconditional love consistently expressed in living.  Shame is cleansed by forgiveness. That’s one means of purifying the heart of humanity.  Another way is by the fire of nuclear fission.  But then there would be no flesh left with which to start over, as in the days of Noah and his family.  Let us opt for the fire of Love — and grant God his wish that none should perish but that all should come to enjoy life eternal in Paradise restored — for, as Black Elk encouraged, It may be that some little root of the sacred tree still lives. Nourish it then, that it may leaf and bloom and fill with singing birds.”

Until my next post,

Be love. Be loved.

Tending the Garden of Your Heart

“Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be lift up, ye everlasting doors, and the King of glory shall come in.” (Psalm 24:7)

As we leave 2019, our world is in turmoil. Our government is under siege from within by its political parties battling over the impeachment of the president. Our Beloved America is on the precipice of the implosion of its grossly indebted and unbalanced economy. This civilization is in the throes of an existential crisis.  Wildfires burn in Australia, as they do every year in California. Let’s face the truth and the facts: the world we have created on this planet is not in harmony with the Earth.

While we are busy with our isolated personal lives, striving to make ends meet, or even survive, and to safeguard our health and our sanity, the health of our natural resources deteriorates from a lack of stewardship and sheer exhaustion from an overpopulated planet—not to mention the state of our hearts and collective consciousness, the real garden we were given to tend and keep. The garden of our hearts here in America is in a state of anxiety, chronic stress and eroding fear.

Wars continue to be waged in the Middle East and could escalate into a U.S. involvement in yet another war with Iran in the wake of the killing of Iran’s chief military commander, the head of Iran’s elite Quds Force, under President Trump’s direction.  Endless wars have devastated that part of the world; desperation and fear fill the hearts of millions who are starving for a lack of food and/or driven from their homes and homelands living in tents while seeking refuge in countries, some of whose borders are closed to them, while we are building a wall to keep them out.  This is the sad state of affairs in which we leave our world at the end of the second decade of the 21st Century, and launch into an election year of 2020.

“The gates of hell shall not prevail. . . .”

The title of my last post in the series on the Thymus Gland is “The Windows of Heaven.” Looking at the current global outpouring of hate, fear and anger from out of the heart and psyche of humanity, I am drawn back to the series to take another look at the heart, this time as a trapdoor to hell—a trapdoor that was sprung open once again in our world’s history during the 2016 Presidential campaigns here in America, the historical moment when one individual stepped up onto the Republican platform and announced his candidacy for the elected office of President of the United States.

The tone this one man sounded, and continues to sound, has summoned up legions of demons from out of the collective unconscious, a reservoir where vibrational patterns of unholy attitudes and dark patterns of violence have been lurking and working behind the scenes of human behavior and activity throughout the warring history of mankind, now released into the collective consciousness full-force, nothing hidden in the secret places of the heart.

This narcissistic leader has gathered resonant substance around him that has formed a “base” comprised of individuals who feel their voices and concerns have not been heard and met, and whose minds and hearts are open to his revolting and insulting rhetoric while they applaud and egg him on—much like the masses in Germany did to Adolf Hitler in the 1940’s.

This is collective insanity. Our nation is not sane, not whole. We are divided along partisan lines, by racial prejudice, by discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender equality and LGBTQ rights issues, and by religious beliefs and socioeconomic class distinctions. Divided, we are falling apart.

The nauseous brew in the collective unconscious has erupted and is spilling over into the sea of the collective consciousness, polluting these hallowed waters and engulfing the sinking ship of humanity in waves after waves of hate, fear and anger. The undoing of the human condition, created by the human mind out from under Divine governance, is underway—and it’s creator is lashing out in wrathful anger because it knows that it has but a short time remaining on this Earth—this “little blue dot” of a planet adrift in a ray of sunshine, as Carl Sagan graphically portrays our tiny but sacred home among the stars. The human condition is being transformed by fire and transmuted by Spirit even as the old earth is giving way to the emergence of the New Earth.

A phrase from the Book of Revelation in the Bible comes to mind:

Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and those that dwell in them. But woe unto the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea. (Rev. 12:2)

OF DEMONS AND SHADOWS

As I turn eighty this new year, what elder wisdom may be mine to offer is becoming more available to me, as experience tends to afford us elders.  In my lifetime, I have wrestled with demons and prayed my way through shadows and dark nights of the soul—not unlike many in the upcoming generation who now have support groups for processing their issues and coming clear of their demons and shadows.  We didn’t have that kind of group processing when we left our father’s house to make a life in the world.  Only later did we begin to have workshops in self-realization available. Even then, I found little encouragement in the wise counsel of the day to “Just Keep moving.”

In my experience, detoxifying the human psyche can become an obsession, as well as an endless task of dredging up demons out of a bottomless pit. One will never get to the place in Plato’s “cave,” where there are no more demons shadow-dancing on one’s walls, as our “personal” issues and shadows are connected vibrationally by resonance with those in the collective unconscious.  Sometimes one really cannot tell what demons are one’s own to face and what demons come out of the collective. I may get rid of one demon only to have two more move in to fill the void.

Some say we must face our demons and embrace the darkness. The question I pose is “Who is it that is doing the facing and embracing? The ‘mere human’ or the authentic Self?” My inner wisdom tells me that if the spirit of this world comes and finds something in me, then I have work to do. If not, then I need to let it pass on through . . . and keep moving.  “Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”

YOU ARE THE LIGHT

There is only one way to  come out of the cave and into the light of day. We must open the Seventh Seal at the highest level of awareness and let the Light of our own angelic and immortal being flood our souls with love, and then step into this Light in the center of our turning worlds and assume our true identity as rays of sunshine, sons and a daughters of God. In this center of Light and Love there are no shadows, and you can see things in your world clearly, no longer through a “glass darkly” but for what they truly are: things, just things that cast shadows on the ground behind them.

Things are nothing more nor less than distortions of the One Light of Love. And by “distortions” I mean lower and denser vibrations of the One Light of Love of which all things in the “material” world are made. You are the pure, differentiated Light that shines on things that, due to their density, cast shadows behind them.  Be the Light of your world, and stop the futile effort of getting rid of the shadows in your life.  They are nothing, have no substance, no reality.  The “things” casting the shadows are the disturbances in the heart, the “wounds” that only love can heal.  Let your light shine, your love radiate through your disturbed and wounded heart, and you discover your Self in the process. Expression is the only way that allows the release of your light.

Sometimes that expression of light needs to be a laser beam of rebuke: “Get thee hence! Begone!” The man Jesus faced his demons in this manner. When vocalized, rebuke is a sonic purifier of dark energy.

Shadows are nothing but the absence of light. If you’re dwelling in the darkness of the shadow, you can’t see the Light. There is “this thing” standing in the way blocking your view: this wound, that issue, that person or those people. We blame the wound and the perpetrators for our unhappiness and depression.  How about simply getting around and over the things casting shadows on our path in life and come into the Light where there are no shadows?  The simple acts of forgiveness and unconditional acceptance could get you there.  The word “empathy” is used in many talk shows and television interviews lately.

I remember from my early years of awakening a parable my mentor used frequently in his seminars. No doubt you’ve all heard it repeated in various talks and articles yourself.  In the parable a man in an insane asylum is sweeping the floor of his room all night long until the sun rises in the morning, when he would stop sweeping and sit down to rest in blissful satisfaction that he had finally swept all the darkness out of his room. Wrestling with shadows can be nothing more than trying to sweep darkness out of one’s heart and psyche. Just turn on your light and let it shine away the darkness.

Switching metaphors for a moment, this little poem has provided wisdom and guidance for me. It’s called “The River.”

I am the River

The River flows. The River flows.

The River flows up to an obstacle.

The River does not stop at the obstacle.

The River goes around the obstacle.

The River flows. The River flows.

I am the River.

The River is Life, and Life is unconquerable.  If you can be overcome by some obstacle in your path, then you are not identified with Life. Your are in ego identity, and ego identity is an obstacle in itself.  Let go of the obstacles and move on with the River, as the River.  Say “I Am the River and I’m going to keep on flowing.” Perhaps this could be a good New Year’s resolution: to stay identified with the River of Life.

The heart lifted upward lets the light of Heaven in . . . and the blessing you are out; cast downward, it opens to the dark shadows in the collective unconscious.  Let your heart be lifted up in thankfulness for Life and for Light as we begin the New Year and decade in 2020.

I leave you to enjoy two excerpts from Handel’s Messiah sung by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir to kick-start the New Year.

“Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors, and the King of glory shall come in.” (Psalm 24:9)

Blessings for a happy, healthy and new life experience in 2020!

“The Windows of Heaven”

“Jesus said: I have thrown fire on the world. Look! I watch it until it blazes.” (The Gospel of Thomas)

In this series, I have focused on the function and spiritual significance of the Thymus Gland and the role this endocrine gland plays with the Spirit of Purification in keeping the body temple, especially the inner sanctum in the center of the brain, protected from the intrusion of harmful bacteria, viruses and toxins. This role involves the purifying fire of Love carried out energetically by the fierce and sweeping activities of the immune system, which I have called the “immune alliance” because of the whole body’s involvement in the conflagration and elimination of toxins and metabolic waste from the body. The spiritual heart is where the purifying fire of love is generated.

Purification is all about energy and frequency. Everything vibrates at a specific and unique frequency. The purifying fire of love vibrates at a higher frequency than do toxins and metabolic waste. The higher vibrations of love penetrate the lower vibrations of toxins, transmuting them and rendering them harmless while being eliminated from the body. This post speaks to this process and to the importance of maintaining a fire in one’s heart . . . and identifying with the fire as the one burning, not being burnt.

Windows of Heaven

The Thymus, located by perfect design just above our physical heart, opens up a vibrational gateway into the spiritual heart and the subconscious mind.  Here the bloodstream may be continually bathed in the purifying currents of love.  The bloodstream, along with the lymphatic system, carry the nourishing gifts of the natural world throughout the temple for blessing and incorporation into its sacred anatomical architecture.

In the last book of the Old Testament (Malachi 3:10) are found these words:

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

This instruction and promise may be seen in at least two different ways.  One way relates to being given a blessing from God out of heaven and the other relates to being the blessing poured out through the windows of heaven we each one are. Either way, when all of the tithes of the natural world are brought into the storehouse of the Lord, which the human body is, they are blessed and they provide the means by which the blessing that I AM may be poured out of heaven into my world.

All of creation seeks the Lord of Creation in and through Man so that it might provide clothing for His spirit.  We are designed with a spiritual heart — as well as a physical heart and digestive system — so that this natural process of ascension of the tithes of creation might occur.  Our hearts provide an altar of sacrifice whereby all things that come into it might be made holy. They are made holy by our love for them and in their union with us.  The word “sacrifice” can be traced to its Latin root, “sacher facere,” which translates “to make holy.”  The root meaning of the word holy is whole, complete.  All things are connected up to Source through natural relationships with all aspects of creation.

In the story of the Israelites we have been revisiting, a fire burned upon the altar seven days of every week, and they brought sacrificial tithes from out of the animal and vegetable kingdoms to the altar to be offered up to the Lord through the fire.  Anything that even touched the altar was sanctified.  In order for this to have happened, the altar itself must have been holy.  The altar of the tabernacle was holy by reason of the fact that it served as a symbol of connection between the Spirit of God, symbolized by the Ark of the Covenant, and the Israelites.  It was holy by reason of the fact that it provided for a sense of wholeness, a state of oneness, between them and their God, and whatever came between them and their God to defile that sacred place of connection was immediately purified or eliminated.

This representation of the altar as the place of worship, the place where the people came to offer their sacrifices to God and to receive the blessing of the Most High through Aaron, the High Priest, is essentially what the priesthood, embodied by the tribe of Levi, provided. This connection with God was all important to the children of Israel.  God was their savior and redeemer from the land of bondage in Egypt. He was their “shield and buckler” in the face of their enemies.  They had every reason to believe in and rely on their God, who was the God of their forefathers all the way back to Abraham. Thus the importance of this connection through the tribe of Levi, the altar, and the sacrificial service.

The fact of a need for connection with God implies the experience of a state of disconnection, of separateness.  In reality God and Man are not separate but are one.  Only in human consciousness has there been a sense of disconnection and separation.  This sense of separation has been due to an absence of the spirit of God in the human heart.  God has not been welcomed there, not because human beings have not wanted to be connected with God in some way, but because of the state of turmoil maintained by them in their troubled hearts and their failure to heed the command of love to “Let not your hearts be troubled.” There has been a need, then, for an external symbol of the presence of God all down through the history of mankind.

The temple service was to so please God through sacrifice that he would bestow his blessing upon the nation of Israel so as to make it not only a holy nation but a strong nation which could defeat its enemies.  So the altar is a very accurate symbol of holiness, of wholeness, to the extent it has provided that sense of connectedness, sanctified by the evidence of the presence of the Spirit of God.  It had, as I said, a fire upon it seven day a week, no doubt made possible by the burning of oil, which reminded them of that Presence.

What about my own heart?  Is there a fire of love burning in it at all times keeping it pure and holy?  Are the people in my world, and the creatures of the natural world and all living things, safe and made whole and holy when they touch my heart—or when I bring them into my heart, or into my body for nourishment?  They are to the extent I maintain my heart as a holy place, fiercely guarded and anointed daily with the oils of love and forgiveness.  They are to the extent I care for my heart as an altar where the offerings of the natural world may easily find their way Home to the Lord of Creation, and to the extent I receive them in the name of the Lord of Creation.  How can I receive them in the name of the Lord of Creation unless the Lord of Creation is present in the temple of my body?

To the extent I am present at the altar of my own heart, as an angel of fire, who stands in representation of the Lord of Creation, then the altar of my heart is holy and anything that touches it is made holy and wholly connected up with God.  The world of creation comes Home to rest in the presence of God right here inside of me, to the extent that I provide a Home for God to rest on earth.  This was what occurred on the seventh day of creation. “And on the seventh day, God rested,” because he had created Man to steward his creation and to provide a Home on earth in which he might dwell with and enjoy the works of his hand.

The Master said the pure in heart shall see God.  Do I see God in all that comes to me to worship at my altar and to receive my blessing as a lord of creation?  Happy is that one who can see God in all people and in all things, for that one has a pure heart.  A pure heart is a happy heart.  A happy heart pours out blessings into the world.

Bound Back to God

“What I am touching upon here are the giving and receiving aspects of the Creative Process.  Love and the breath of life are being given by God to all of creation continually seven days a week.  What comes back is creation’s response to the radiant outpouring of love in the rhythmic ebb and flow of the breath of life.  We are the means by which this process is designed to be stewarded and guided, and it is in our body temples where all this is designated to take place.  Since all things are connected back to God through Man, the crowning creation, it has always been so that men and women have sought to restore this connection through religion.

It is perhaps pertinent and appropriate here to note that the true meaning of the word “religion” embodies this very process.  It literally means “to bind back to.”  True religion helps us to mindfully connect back up with God in ourselves and in others, not so that we can get to where God is up in some imagined heaven somewhere, but so that we might become consciously aware of the reality that God is here present with us already.  The extension of religion into our daily lives, then, is for the purpose of connecting and binding the world back to God. We cannot successfully escape this responsibility, which is truly a privilege no other life form shares with us in quite the same way.

This can take place anywhere I am, such as while I am enjoying a nourishing meal with friends, or even alone doing my chores, working in the office or tending my vegetable or flower garden. Do we need a church and a time-worn ceremony to make and maintain that connection?  I find it easier to connect with God in the cathedral of a beautiful forest with tall pine trees hovering overhead than I do in a stone building lighted artificially going through the motions of rituals that have lost their passion and meaning.  I find it easier to connect with God looking across the dinner table into the eyes of a friend or family member while doing what we seem to do best and enjoy most—eating!  And who doesn’t enjoy eating!  God enjoys it a whole lot!  No doubt that’s why he designed us so we would need to eat as often and as much as we do, not just for our nourishment but more for his enjoyment and communion with his beautiful world.

Father God enjoys receiving the fruits of his giving and the pleasure his creation brings back to him at the hands of Mother God and together they have chosen to do this through you and through me.  He keeps giving love and She keeps returning in kind back to him on our dinner tables, completing the never ending cycle of the Creative Process. We may participate in this process of giving and receiving by embracing it with a thankful heart, the essence and meaning of the Blessing before meals. ♥                                                      (SACRED ANATOMY)

The Pituitary’s Role in Building Community

“To love another person is to see the face of God”

This past Labor Day weekend, Bonnie and I watched PBS’s presentation of Les Miserables in concert format and enjoyed every minute of this powerful musical. Jean Valjean’s (Alfie Boe) last words before dying still resonate in my heart: “To love another person is to see the face of God.” Wow! My eyes teared up as he sang this line, as they did throughout the story.  I was moved by the music and the songs, especially when Fontaine (Lea Salonga) poured her heart out in “I Dreamed a Dream,” and Alfie Boe, with his rich baritone voice, sang “Bring Him Home.” But then, I’m a softy and tear up easily when sweet and caring words are spoken and acts of extraordinary generosity are portrayed in movies. Some scenes simply touch a tender spot in my heart of longing for life in our world to be as beautiful and full of simple acts of kindness and appreciation as portrayed in movies such as this.

I am blessed to have someone close to love and to share life with. It’s a privilege I do not take for granted—although it is granted. Bonnie and I both acknowledge that we are truly a gift from Life to one another, a gift for whom I am deeply thankful, especially as we age together in a high-tech world that seems to be leaving us behind, and dear friends and family members are departing.

We have been gifted by Life in the many friends we’ve come to know over the years. I marvel at times at how we are naturally, though magically, drawn together by Spirit, occasioned by common interests and sheer resonance at times, and remain connected in spirit, though miles and oceans apart. We are clearly part of a global spiritual community that abides and serves the One in the larger Body of Man at a level clearly above the physical, yet includes the physical.

We are drawn together by Love, just as surely as the cells of our bodies are drawn together by Love and arranged by perfect design to function together in a controlled and purposeful manner as a true community—thanks to our wonderful Pituitary gland and the Spirit of Truth focused here— and the Spirit of Love focused in the Pineal gland . . . and the Spirit of Life focused in and by the Thyroid gland (which I will write about shortly) . . . and all of the other glands of our endocrine system that provide their unique focus for Life in the body.  The word focus is the operative word here for the theme of this post, in which I am happy to share this except from my book SACRED ANATOMY.

A Collective Body

Whether we are aware of it or not, our function on Earth greatly impacts the balance of creation throughout the solar entity, just as the function of the Pituitary determines the balance of energy and chemistry in our bodies.  How we use this sacred seal is crucial to the outworking of creative cycles throughout the body, as well as our relationship with others in our worlds.  It is designed to honor and give focus for the Spirit of Truth.  We use this seal correctly when our passion is for the truth of love in our momentary living.

It is the prayer of many who have vision, and who offer themselves as spiritual mentors these days, that we all become conscious of our true identity as angelic beings and aware of our mission and heavenly purpose so that we might play our parts with genuine authority in our collective role of wise stewardship, exercising loving dominion over the balance of Creation on this planet.  A global awakening to this reality in the collective has occurred over the past few decades.  What is being called for today, I feel, is a certain meekness of mind, a willingness born of true humility to be teachable and to explore together what is required of us during these historic and crucial days of completion and new beginnings as we move into the new millennium.  When the mind is meek and teachable, still and open to explore new possibilities, the heart may feel free to open up and start trusting its perceptions and, more importantly, sharing its perspectives and understanding. It is with the heart’s discernment that we feel our way through the darkness in this world.  It is with her understanding and perspectives, based on spirit rather than structure, that we will forge a path to the “world waiting to be born” Scott Peck envisioned and wrote about. This is what true vision is.

It has been said, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” It also follows that where there is vision the people flourish. It is important, then, that those with vision, those who know and know that they know, by virtue of their own living the truth of love, come forward to shed light into the darkness of human misunderstanding and confusion.  This is happening on a grander scale now than ever before.  Everywhere I turn I see individuals living and speaking their truth with authority and assurance, even if not with pristine clarity as yet. There is much more to come in the way of purity of heart and clarity of understanding. There’s no need to put this process on hold, however, until the heart is fully purified.  As each one puts his and her piece of truth into the collective container of consciousness, the picture continues to clarify for all.  It is the shining of one’s light that the capacity for shining is transformed and clarified, as well as grows.

To use a biblical metaphor, one does not light a candle and place it under a bushel but in a place where it can be seen by men and where it will light up the entire room.  We all have a part to play and everyone’s part, without exception, is essential to the whole picture and to the inevitable outcome of the cycles of change presently underway on Earth.  No one will remain untouched or unchanged by these re-creative cycles that are bringing us all together as One Body for the One Spirit we all love and seek to serve more fully.

In our love for the One and for one another, the true design of spiritual governance through a pattern of harmonic focalization would naturally begin to be unveiled and fleshed out on a basis that is acceptable to all who keep their I single in the Spirit whose design it is.  That Spirit is not an elusive, inaccessible entity, but rather is closer than breath.  It differentiates itself through each one of us, as it does in the natural world around us, in focalized patterns.  Life is an organizing force that brings order and harmony out of chaos and confusion. The Universe attests to its creative genius.

We each focus a unique aspect and frequency of Spirit. We are drawn toward—and we draw to ourselves—those with whom we naturally resonate in Spirit at the core of our hearts. This is what I mean by harmonic focalization. To use a musical metaphor, some of us sing melodies in the life of a community and others of us sing harmonies around them. Those of us who usually sing harmonies sometimes find ourselves singing melodies with others, who perhaps usually sing melodies, gravitating toward us to harmonize—or coordinate—their parts with us. This is the organism rather than the organization model.  It’s the way things work in the Universe to achieve anything genuine and organic.

Nothing could be achieved in the physiology of the human body but anarchy and pandemonium without the focus of the Spirit of Love in the Pineal Body and the nurturing coordination of the Spirit of the Womb in the Pituitary gland. So is it with the collective body of humanity. Where Spirit is focalized and its differentiations coordinated in a pattern of design and control, the collective body temple comes together as a unified expression of divine love to provide a Home for God on Earth.  This, I believe, is the healing the Body of God on Earth is in dire need of today, a process that appears to be underway.

I see a collective Body Temple rising in our midst today composed of  incarnate beings of light the world around, men and women who have remembered who they are and why they are here, who give their utmost care and attention to the sacred in everyday life.  All are invited to play a role in this temple, be it large or small.  The Earth itself is being recognized once again for the Sacred Temple it provides for the continual praise and worship of the Creator in this Solar Entity, this Cathedral of the living God.

Speaking of individuals emerging who carry a current of love for truth in their writings, my friend and poet Diana Durham’s book The Return of King Arthur, which is written around the theme of the quest for the Holy Grail, a myth full of symbolism that points to the reality of human experience, past, present and future, may well be the single most important book at the dawn of the New Millennium, certainly among the top ten. The author names, like no other author I have read to date, where we have been and how we have been wounded, where we are now and where we are headed—and naming the wound is the first step toward healing.  Her chapter eleven, “The Chalice of Collective Sovereignty,” is a must-read for every awakened human being on the planet at this time of global transformation and transition out of the old and into the New Era. I simply cannot resist sharing just a few of the many morsels of her wisdom here in this consideration of the collective body, and as a fitting closing to our meditation on the roles the Pituitary Gland and Spirit of the Womb play in our body temples. –(from SACRED ANATOMY)

Due to their length, I will publish the excerpts from her book in my next post, concluding this series on the Spiritual Significance of the Pituitary Gland.

To my followers and readers

I seek to speak truth to a compromised state of human consciousness in my writings. To the extent my words are received by you my readers, they convey my spirit into the collective consciousness and my purpose for writing and blogging is thereby accomplished. For that I am deeply thankful to God for you and for all who follow and read my blogs.  Feel free to share my posts with friends as deemed fitting.

Blessings,

Culling and Purification by Resonance

“The prince of this world cometh, and findeth nothing in me.” (Jesus)

I would like to pause in this series to focus on purification of the heart, mainly because it’s what we’re going through, individually and collectively, as conditions in the global climate, and in world politics, heat up. In the physical body, purification is a function of the Thymus gland and immune system — which we will consider later. In the spiritual body, purification takes place in the heart.

 OF SHEEP, GOATS AND WOLVES

There was good reason why shepherds mixed goats in with their herd of sheep in Biblical days. The reason was to protect the sheep from being attacked by wolves. It seems the strong body odor of the goats provided a protective shield around the herd, acting as sort of a “wolf-repellent.” I guess wolves don’t particularly like goat for dinner, or being gored by their pointed horns.  Whatever the reason, wolves tended to stay away from sheep herds that had goats mixed in with them. Upon returning from the grazing fields to the corral, the sheep were culled out from the goats and placed in separate enclosures — thus the Biblical parable of the shepherd separating the sheep from the goats.

CULLING BY RESONANCE

Today we are experiencing the reality portrayed by this parable, only the culling is by resonance. It’s vibrational and it works through the heart. “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.”

The full passage from James Allen’s book reads:

“As a man thinketh in his heart so is he.” As the plant springs from, and could not be without, the seed, so every act of a man springs from the hidden seeds of thought.

Those seeds of thought lay dormant in the heart and spring forth in resonance with a vibration in an outside source — a teacher, for example Jesus, or a spiritual guru — or, in the case of a terrorist, a radical ideology.

In musicology the principle of resonance states that when a single tone is played, that tone will find a similar and sympathetic frequency in another instrument and cause it to sound,

THE TONE OF POLITICAL RHETORIC

Resonance occurs between all vibrating substances, including people. We tend to gravitate towards people who “strike a chord” in us, as we say. That’s resonance — and here in the US there’s been a lot of resonance experienced in us as we’ve listened to the rhetoric coming out of Washington DC these past few years. The fact is, our resonance with the tone of that rhetoric, and lack thereof, has served as a culling factor in calling us out and amplifying the split in our Nation right down the middle into right and left “camps.” Not “right and wrong” but simply “right and left” — conservative and liberal — and there are degrees of conservatism and liberalism. We have the “far right” and the “far left,” and the “moderates” in between these two extremes.  We are divided and separated from one another by our political views — our resonance with different ideologies and views — none of which are worthy of us,

Before we got separated into camps, we were all mixed together, like the sheep with the goats, and we respected one another’s political views and orientation. Not anymore. Unless you are prepared to meet the repercussions, you are wise to avoid bringing up politics at a family gathering.

EVANGELICAL RHETORIC

This holds true with the topic of religion as well – perhaps even more so. There’s nothing more vexing to my spirit than evangelical rhetoric. I was brought up Catholic and truly believed that only Catholics would go to heaven when they died. All the other religions were outside the circle of “chosen ones.” I used to preach this narrow and misguided view trying to convince others that, if they wanted to go to Heaven, they needed to become Catholics. I was a “staunch Catholic,” even an aspirant to the priesthood. But I was not being a Christian. A true Christian would love people just the way they are and respect their beliefs.

My awakening came when a wise teacher told me with a compelling tone of authority: “You are not a Catholic. You are a human being made in the image and likeness of God.” Shortly after that surprisingly resonant encounter with primal truth, I stopped being a Catholic and set out on a path toward learning how to live life as an authentic human being made in the image and likeness of God, with love, respect and compassion for all – “believers” and “nonbelievers” alike.

RESONANCE REVEALS WHAT’S REALLY INSIDE US

Resonance is a good thing, as it exposes and releases the hidden patterns of thought and feeling that spur our behavior. It lets us see what’s really inside ourselves and gets it out here where we can observe it, bless it, and take steps to change the way we think in our hearts.  In this sense, it’s a blessing, for instance, when feelings of fear and hate are triggered by what someone says, or preaches from their political lectern — or what we see on social media and hear in the news. Only we do not have to act on those feelings.

I recall a television interview with Dr. Depak Chopra, a highly regarded and beloved spiritual guru. It was during the 2016 presidential elections when Donald Trump was rising to take the helms of our Nation’s government. The interviewer asked Dr. Chopra what he thought about the hate and fear-mongering rhetoric pouring out of this man’s mouth on a daily basis. Depak’s countenance immediately changed as he began formulating his response. He said that he experienced real fear for the first time and it shocked him. The fear in his heart had been hidden from him until this moment in time. He expressed utter dismay in its eruption, triggered up in resonance to the tone of Donald Trump’s rhetoric.

RECLAIMING CAPTIVE ENERGY

Then he shared his realization of what was taking place vibrationally and proceeded to demonstrated how he handled the fear as the mindful person he is. Rather than let the feeling consume his outer being, he observed it with love and embraced it with compassion so as to transform it and reclaim the energy it was holding captive back into the Whole. I was utterly amazed and edified by his mastery and humility.  Even the greatest among us have hidden thoughts and feeling reactions in our hearts that can and will resonate with similar thoughts and feelings in others when they are vented with passion.

Then he said something most profound and prophetic. He said that the repercussions of Trump’s rhetoric had knocked the lid off of the collective unconscious and has released all sorts of ill patterns of thought, feeling and unwholesome spirits that have lay dormant there for eons. Those unholy patterns of thought, feeling and behavior are finding expression through the masses and being acted out, particularly by those who resonate with the tone of Trump’s rhetoric.

The lid is off the id and anything can happen . . . not just here in America, but globally.  Apocalypse — a revelation of what has been hidden, of truth and of deception — is happening.

LET NOT OUR HEARTS BE TROUBLED

Take heart, however, for we can seize the opportunity to let our hearts be cleansed of hidden ill thoughts and feelings that are triggered up, so that when the “prince of this world” comes, it finds nothing in us that resonates with its dissonant hateful tones. These ill thoughts and feelings are held in distorted patterns by energy that has been leached and stolen from the Whole, from the Source of all energy.  Stolen by the human ego, the self-active human mind, which is bringing great wrath to bear on the earth and humanity because it knows that its days are numbered and it has but a short time to exist in its present self-centered state —  and it resists transformation and redemption. In the metaphor above, the wolf is the self-active human mind, the prince of this world, and he has learned to come in sheep’s clothing.

LET THE HEART BE PURIFIED

We all have a mixture of sheep and goat in us — of true and false beliefs and convictions, of good and bad spirits and attitudes, and buttons that get pushed. Perhaps we have hidden our true convictions behind traditional and conventional beliefs and attitudes in order to avoid judgment and criticism, or inciting an argument with friends we don’t want to lose. Real friends are precious, though rare. Or we criticize and judge so as to appear “only human” in the sight of our peers. My point is that we have a mixture of both pure and vile in us that keeps us, in appearance anyway, out of range of the  wolf’s “evil eye,” so to speak; and there is no one eligible to throw the first stone.

COMING CLEAN OF BELIEFS

Whereas I do my best to respect another’s beliefs, short of imposing mine on others, I have come to make no excuses for my own convictions gained by experience of truth in living life beyond my prior beliefs. Truth does, after all, free us of our beliefs.  Should the wolf come, my Spirit will be my “shield and buckler.” There’s no need to defend my truth, nor my Self.  Action may be appropriate, but not defense. The true shepherd steps forward to protect his sheep from the wolf when there are no goats in the herd. The pure of heart see God, see the good in all. There comes a time when one simply cannot hide behind convention and tradition any longer. “Let the chips fall where they may” has served as an appropriate attitude. We can come clean of our beliefs, the ego’s feelings not withstanding.

WHAT IS THE EGO ANYWAY?

The Ego is simply our sense of self; the capacity with which we are consciously aware of who we are. The word “ego” is Latin for “I am,” as we learned in high school. We have been taught that we are “only human.” But that is our human ego speaking. We are Human Beings, and our Being is divine, made in the image and likeness of God. We can begin the process of remembering who we are by changing how we see ourselves, not as “merely human” but as Human Beings, as Divine Man, masculine and feminine. That is the truth of the matter. Our sense of self, our ego, is being called to “come up hither” and give us the capacity to know who we truly are, our Divine Self.

RESONANCE WITH THE TONE OF LOVE UPLIFTS

OM in a drop of oil

Speaking and acting out of love, expressing the qualities of Being, such as peace, thankfulness, and compassion, we sound a Tone with which those who have resonant substance in their hearts can resonate. With many now so living and expressing out of love, a line is drawn upon the Earth based on resonance to the Tone of the Seventh Angel’s Trumpet.

That Angel visited this planet two-thousand-plus years ago and set the Tone for the culling of the body of Man on Earth. Those who resonate with the Tone of Love rise up in joy. There is no need to judge those who do not resonate with Love but who yet resonate with fear and hate. That’s not my business. The Lord would that none should perish, but that all should come to repentance and turn from their orientation in the material world and discover their spiritual orientation and true identity as sons and daughters of the Father and brothers and sisters to one another.  It is my prayer as well.  But let us not tarry, as time is no more.

Until my next post, when I will resume sharing excerpts from Sacred Anatomy, let your beautiful light shine,

Anthony
